Our boy budgie is more active and the girl is more calmer. Yeah I noticed female budgies have very strong bite . They want to make sure to leave dents in the skin and males don’t bite hard . I had to give away some females because I didn’t want them to hurt my children

When I got my first budgie Lumen, I asked the pet store owner if it was a boy and she said she was positive it was. Was only about 6 months later I discovered it was a girl. Didn’t change the fact i loved her though. She unfortunately passed away recently.
My male budgie Nox was left alone and I decided maybe to get him a male companion this time. Went to another pet shop and asked for a boy budgie. A few weeks later I then discover it’s a girl. I guess Nox was just meant to be with a lady haha
What was the lifespan of your budgie lumen?
@@sahithianantha- about a few years. She developed an illness and it was a hard decision but I decided it was best to let her out of her misery as the vet told me she was most likely going to have ongoing health issues.
Thanks for this video, I have a male and he's so much fun from the beginning, super friendly, flies on everyone who enters the house, just bought another budgie, I'm not too sure if it's a male, I wanted another male but his sear seems to have a slight blue in it, real slight, this one isn't so friendly 😢. Another thing I noticed (and you can see it clearly in this video at 1:00) is you can look at their legs and feet. Their legs and feet will be bluish if a boy and pinkish if a girl.
Hey, it doesn't necessarily true, my blue male Skippy is just a very unique one with these blue feet, but other male budgies will usually have pink feet just like females.

I feel you but I own 7 parakeets and its like that for all 7. The 4 males have blue legs and feet. The 3 females (lutino and albinos have pink legs and feet). It may not always be that way but it's a very good indicator of the genders.

Thank you for the video I learned alot in this video about male and female budgies in there adulthood and when they are young. At first when I got a young budgie I thought It was a male but I had a blue color on it's cere and and white around the nostrils and I found out it was a female budgie by doing research and looking at youtube videos how to tell young male and female budgies. Then i got a male budgie and It had a purple nostril. Thank you so much for your video It helped me alot about how to tell male and female budgies.

Thank you for telling the lutino budgie gender. I searched on UA-cam to see my lutino budgies gender but the videos take about 15 minutes. But you just said it in 5 seconds. Thank you. Now I know my budgies gender. Still they are under 4 months coz they both have pink Ceres 😁😅

I was told that my budgie was a male. It had a pink cere as a baby but now it's 1 year old, had a brown cere but somehow it got peeled. He has a lightly brown cere now. Or should i say she? But he is very friendly, never ever bites someone unlike a female. Even gives me a kiss and makes a weird cute sound after it.
I’m in a bit of a confusing situation, I have a 3-4 month old blue,yellow and purple budgie Ollie, I originally thought he was a girl but then the vet said he was a boy. Ollie has a plain purple cere no plain pink in sight and no plain blue in sight , is Ollie a girl or boy ???

Can someone please help me? I don’t know what gender my budgie is. My local bird store (its NOT a chain pet store don’t worry they care for their birds a lot) said he was a boy… but he’s almost 6 months and has a light blue purple pinkish cere with a little white. He can get territorial of his cage sometimes and whenever we go to get his nails clipped or we need some more Harrison pellets, he will see the other budgies and fly to their cage and start fighting with them. He acts like a female budgie but I don’t know still because the cere determines the gender and I can’t tell whether he’s a boy or girl.

My female budgie that even the breeder told me is a male had a pink only cere until 5 months old than very very slowly turned a tan colour I knew for sure she is a female wen with 11-12 months old she laid an egg and then a clutch full of 4 eggs so now I know it is a female ( in rare mutations budgie females can have a pink cere until it turns tan , like in the case happen to me , I had to call it from azzure to azzura ha ha
