Thanks for taking us on a tour of Nashville Country Music history. Yes the stories that all of this represents would probably set us back on our boot heals....I just wish Country Music was still real Country Music !
Being a huge Gram Parsons fan i loved seeing the outfits worn on the Sweethearts of the Rodeo record cover....always wondered what happened to those outfits....good to know they are being cared for! at the CMHF! Next trip should be to the Joshua Tree Inn!
I was raised in the “Valley” and my friends and I used to go into Nudies just to look around. Couldn’t afford a single thing in the store. The rhinestones and metal studs would blind you. It wasn’t too far from The Palomino club where a lot of top country and cowboy musicians played for decades.
A buddy of mine is a superior court judge in California and put himself through law school by bartending at the Palomino. He’s got lots of great stories from those days.
Thank you so much for this awesome video. I love Hank Williams and Don Williams. Keith Whitney Dwight Yoakum and so many more. Thank you and God bless 🙏
Another great video, thanks! In the 1970s I actually purchased several items at Nudie’s Rodeo Tailor shop in North Hollywood. Nudie himself seemed to always be there. I would also often see him riding down Lankershim Blvd in his personal custom white convertible with the longhorns affixed to his grill. Several years later I became friendly with his daughter when we both worked at Warner Bros. Studio in Burbank. As for the artists you featured, my all time favorite country star was Hank Williams, Sr. I did get to see Dwight Yoakum perform years ago at an Elvis memorial concert in Los Angeles and as a young boy, my dad took me to a Roy Rogers Rodeo at the old Madison Square Garden in NYC. Oh, one more thing, regarding your Fonzie thumbs up, I was friendly with Mr. Winkler when I worked on Happy Days at Paramount Studios.
Quite the lineage of famous encounters during your career, sir. I would've loved to have visited Nudie's in its prime. Heck, if I could get away with it, I'd wear a Nudie suit to my office every day.
@@historynerdsmancave7567 …I was referring to Nudies in North Hollywood, CA. Maybe I’m wrong. Could have been Al Penny’s car in front of his restaurant in Culver City, CA.
Very nice but I would like to have seen some Patsy's, , Loretta's, Tammy's, Reba's or other ladies of country in this video. Thank you. I loved the tour
I played the Don Williams Definitive Collection album in the car while driving home from Nashville. "I Believe In Love," "Good Ole Boys Like Me," "If Hollywood Don't Need You," "Livin' on Tulsa Time". . .the list goes on. It just doesn't get any better than Don Williams. Thanks for watching!
Dear History Nerd, thank you for taking us with you to the Country Music Hall Of Fame. I had the opportunity to visit it in 2019 and, being a Classic Country Music fan, liked it very much. Have you ever been to the Hank Williams Museum in Montgomery Alabama? If not, I can highly recommend a visit, it was my favorite Museum during my travel to the US in 2019 (aside of the Hall of Fame in Nashville). Thank you for your interesting and entertaining videos. Kind Regards from Germany Oliver
Thanks for watching and for the kind words. I've been to the Hank Williams Museum many times as I, by coincidence, live nearby. The Hank Museum does great things with the resources it has. Hope you visited his grave while you were in the area.
@@historynerdsmancave7567 Yes, I sure visited his grave. Old Hank is my all time favorite singer, so it was actually one of the main reasons of the trip to go to Montgomery and visit the grave. By the way, during that trip I also bought myself a nice Stetson cowboy hat, as they are not easily available in Europe and if so, are a lot more expensive than in the US.
It's a Stetson Marshall, which is the hat I wear most often but difficult to find for sale today. I've made two videos about the Stetson Marshall, which can be found on my channel. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for taking us along on your road trip. Tell your daughter that we appreciate it, and that we all said, "Hey" to her.

Omg wow. Thank you for taking us on the tour 😮❤
Little tidbit is that the windows on the front of the building are supposed to represent the keys on a piano. 👍😊
Excellent video! Thanks for the wonderful tour. Really love that Evel Knievel jacket!
Great tour. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for your time greatly appreciate
Thanks for sharing a piece of your tour with us! I would love to check out the museum some time. Great video!!!

Didn’t Nudie have gold caddy with steer horns parked out front ?
It was a white Cadillac El Dorado customized like Webb Pierce’s. It’s on display, I believe, at Nudie’s Honky Tonk in Nashville.

The minute I saw his hat I knew it was Dwight Yoakum
Interesting fact, you might not know nudie also made the gold Lemay suit for Elvis Presley
What hat are you wearing during this fine tour? Looks kind of like the JW Peacemaker.
