I think Song of the South should be preserved and not erased. Princess and the Frog is even more problematic than Song of the South but people just don't see it. Since Disney has banned Song of the South, it must be just so racist to the point it can't be viewed by anyone? Wrong. It's a very amazing movie, (My personal favorite.) When they were building Splash Mountain, they removed what people got offended by, being Uncle Remus and the Tar Baby, and the quote on quote "slaves." (Yet the movie takes place AFTER the Civil War.) Disney just used the animated portions of the film that everyone could agree was amazing and rich in the Disney magic. There's nothing offensive about this masterpiece of a ride. #SAVESPLASHMOUNTAIN

In 1997 I rode this. On that trip I rated this the best ride at Disney, Knotts Berry Farm, and Universal Studios. Knotts Berry Farm did not have good roller coasters then except for Montezuma's Revenge which was OK. Who knows maybe Tiana's Bayou will improve it.
I was 12 when I rode this ride. There were three kids sitting in front of me they were probably about seven and 10 and I had a full on panic attack. I was literally crying the entire 12 minute ride. I was basically thinking I was going to die I literally said to my aunt “tell dad and Emma ( bestie) I said goodbye crying and screaming. I’m still alive tho so yeah
The Disneyland drop feels longer than the world drop. Not sure if it’s the theming or layout of the ride or what. I read they’re the same but they seem different to me.

Farewell, Splash Mountain. I had a migraine the only time I ever rode you in my life, and you stalled at the final lift hill for about 5 minutes. Beautiful crafted ride apart from my lousy experience with it, though. Edit: To comment on it's change to Princess and the Frog, I think that's fine. Virtually no one in Disney's modern audience even knows what Song of the South is, so it just sort of feels out of place. I think the change will fit nicely overall, I just hope it's not as lame as their Frozen ride in Epcot is. THAT was a change that didn't need made.
@@fedelym7824 tell me about it. My graduation class is going to Disneyland in may. And now splash mountain is closed. Great, it’s not like every time I imagine myself there I’m on that one ride. 🤦♂️
It's consistent with the way they deface other rides, though. Take Pirates of the Caribbean, for example; it's now too PC and too much themed to the movies. (Real-world pirates were and are bad people.) They seriously messed up the Tiki Room, but I think they have put that back the way it was. Eventually, though, they will realize the Tiki Room's treatment of Polynesian culture and religion is not as deferential as we are expected to be now, and the Tiki Room will vanish forever.
The station seems to be crazy inefficient and holding the rides capacity back by quite a bit. I bet they could push way more guests through this by changing to the way more common way of loading the flumes while they are moving.
First, it's an old ride, which might be why they don't do it that way. More importantly, there could be a safety issue. This is more like a roller coaster than a dark ride, so you need a human being to confirm nothing has happened and it is safe to proceed. I don't know of any roller coaster that loads the way you describe it.
@@christosvoskresye Dude, Splash Mountain isn´t a Rollercoaster, it´s a Log Flume, and no matter the age of the ride, it is absolutely normal for them to be loaded and unloaded while the boats are moving on a conveyor belt through the station. And just for the record: The RMC Raptor model can be operated in a mode where the trains don´t stop in the station and load / unload is done while they are moving. At least one of them does that. Also, Hagrid´s Motorbike Adventure does the same. Unlike Splash Mountain, the RMC Raptor and Hagrid´s are indeed Roller Coasters.

Go on it later at night👌. The line will be shorter, you can go on it more than once. Oh also the view is nice cuz the lights are on. Take some clothes that will dry faster. Hope you enjoy your trip :D.
Careful going on at night! It's been chilly lately and we got drenched more than we did in the morning! Go right when disney opens
going tommorow
How could anyone want to ride this, worst ride in the park
@@Vinyl_guyI thought it was fun! The music is great and the splash is exhilarating. It’s also the fastest ride in Disneyland hitting a whopping 47mph
#SAVESPLASHMOUNTAIN
dude, you're white. you only say patf is more offensive than sots want to be offended on the behalf of black people so bad. and sots was already controversial when it was first released.
I just noticed there's a bit of foreshadowing in the beginning when they sing "what goes up is sure to come down"

I went on jurrasic world at universal and the drop was not that bad so of course I underestimated the drop here, and I regret underestimating it. 10/10
Really? You're saying this is more intense than JW? Or it's less intense, but still more intense than you were expecting?
Let's be honest, it looked so much taller as 5 year olds 😂
I can relate. As a kid it looked like, 80 ft tall but now that I’m older, it doesn’t even look that tall.
Yup lol this was a ride I would always avoid but next month when I go to Disneyland I’m going to face my fear
Awesome
Beautiful video thank you my friend
I was 12 when I rode this ride. There were three kids sitting in front of me they were probably about seven and 10 and I had a full on panic attack. I was literally crying the entire 12 minute ride. I was basically thinking I was going to die I literally said to my aunt “tell dad and Emma ( bestie) I said goodbye crying and screaming. I’m still alive tho so yeah
Ok is the second drop new? I don’t recall the roller coaster part
nope
Is it still like this..?
This is the new 🇺🇸 Sings, is it?
The Disneyland drop feels longer than the world drop. Not sure if it’s the theming or layout of the ride or what. I read they’re the same but they seem different to me.
I was planning on going to Cali to ride this before they close it…but it looks so dark inside. Why can’t they fix the lights? I don’t know if I want my last rides of my favorite childhood ride to be remembered that way 😞
Went to Disneyland for my birthday, best birthday gift ever. When I went on with normal clothes I got soaked when I went with swimming clothes no effect. The splash is always against you
Would it kill you to adjust the camera when you're in the show building? Cant see anything
I miss you already Splash Mountain 😭
I’m sad that I’ll never get to experience this version of the attraction, unless by some miracle it’s still open in March 2023. But I know that won’t happen.
Edit: They’re closing it later than I thought they would, but now I’m going in July :(
its still open now
@@condog209 I know, but I can’t make it to Disneyland until 2023, luckily I got to experience the Magic Kingdom version.
No, you still can even if you can fly to Disneyladn Tokyo Japan. They still keep the one there.
@@benunistaycovs4818 I know, but I had hopes to ride every version of the attraction. The 2023 plans to go to Disneyland were scrapped anyways.
So far I’ve only been on the Magic Kingdom version.
Its all nice and all till the drops
Thanks for recording and posting ❤
I love splash mountain and I will miss it so much
Cool video
I am going to miss this rude😢
I am going to miss this ride
Looks like the flume got brand new belt replacements and new logs as well.
No I’m so sad it is being messed with keep it as is pls
What a great ride, its a shame they ruined it
IVE BEEN ON THAT RIDE BEFORE
Farewell, Splash Mountain.
Don't like the Music update and where was the bear bunghole? Stop fixing thugs that aren't broke!
Is this splash mountain also closing?
Sadly, yes it is. 😢
@@droppedcroissant2910 Noooooo 😢
@@fedelym7824 tell me about it. My graduation class is going to Disneyland in may. And now splash mountain is closed. Great, it’s not like every time I imagine myself there I’m on that one ride. 🤦♂️
Sad that they're re-theming such a beloved attraction...
I think the re-theme will be cool honestly
@@abby5779 It'll probably be cool visually, and that's it. No soul, vibe, and nostalgia like Splash Mountain.
Leave Splash Mountain alone!!!
@@6dolarleah I as well as so many other don't want Disney to dump the Br'ers! #SaveSplashMountain
@@jackportenier2441 to bad just be glad disneyland is keeping it longer than disney world there's just closed today
@@Mrfettt theirs*
America is the most sensitive and whiny country in the world with its SJW bozos and far leftists and snowflakes… I don’t get how Splash Mountain is considered “racist” 😑
Yet they wanna keep race swapping already original characters that aren’t black with black rewritten characters 😤
They’re not going to dump them, they’ll be archived and kept safe and who knows, tiana’s might be really good
When I went to Disneyland for my birthday, I got SOAKED on this ride
Where are the dark parts?
the quality and FPS is good but the camera's lighting is so dark you can hardly even see anything
I almost went on the ride last October, but the drop from looking by looks so deep so I passed. Maybe I'll go on this October. The video made it seem the drop wasn't that bad
The ride was so great, from a distance the drop seems big but when you actually go down it, the drop feels much smaller. Amazing ride for sure, hopefully you get a chance to go on it!
My little brother almost flew off on drops 😺
Too dark on the inside parts. Perhaps two cameras with different apertures? Otherwise, all I needed was a spray bottle with water to splash on my face. Brought back great memories.
It’s the camera quality cuz Disney closed it for refurbishment and they fixed the lighting so it the camera quality
This is the first ever Disney ride I’ve ever genuinely connected with. Rode it for the last time ever on Tuesday and the camera was broken so I didn’t get my last picture 😭
Ima miss splash mountain tiana wont be that bad right?😭
Watch the pov it is absolutely terrible
Imma go on splash mountain today cause they are going to change it
Good times. F you disney
The last time I was at Disneyland I chickened out and ended up crying because I thought it was scary…😑
SAME 💀
The drop at the end is actually fun lol

I’m never going back to splash mountain again it’s a scary ride for me and I love getting splash and I’m going back to Disney world and riding the good riddles
Brings back great memories when I asked my girlfriend to marry me 33 years ago...she is my wife now.
