My Drone developed a mind of its own this morning and came to a very unpleasant end. hey man i really need your help cuz im seriously losing it, so i was working on a video and i did something stupid on the middle of it and downloaded a plugin for vegas, so this changed my original files to sfk files so i tried your method and it worked well until i got to the recover_mp4.exe broken.mp4 result.h264 result.aac --ext part. it says Cannot open file 'broken.mp4' and im at a lose of what to do now, is there any way to fix this or am i just doomed
The sfk files are only waveforms and complementary. Your mp4 have to be somewhere. However, your error message sounds like you either did not change "broken.mp4" to the name of the actual broken mp4 file or the path specified to the broken.mp4 is wrong.

So you need two files, the broken one and the good one. Do they have to be the same clip? Or..
im getting the below error, what to do
Stream #0: not enough frames to estimate rate; consider increasing probesize
Format aac detected only with low score of 1, misdetection possible!
Exactly what I needed, worked perfectly. Thank you!
Thanks a ton man!!
This video is gold!!
Tried so many different things before I came across this video..
Thank you so much sir!!! I have been trying many software but it was useless. You really saved my videos in such easy way!!! Keep it up!!!
Happy to help ✌️
Thanks so much, I thought i will never be able to recover my recording, but your solution did :D
The only thing that doesn't work is the sound, but I can do without it ;)
Glad I could help!
Hey ! I have a strange pixel like on the top of the video, how can I erase it ?
It worked! Thank you! Thank you! but I want to know, I have this broken file which is 221MB, but after following the steps the video restored 1 minute and 2 6
seconds and is 95MB, the video is cut so is there a way to restore more of it or that's the best this method could restore?
You could try your luck with restore.media but other than that I don't exactly know how to fix it.
@@GreenBoxMedia Thank you! But either way I'm happy by the results, great tutorial!
My Drone developed a mind of its own this morning and came to a very unpleasant end. I did find it (a minor miracle as it crashed onto a roof and bounced off) but to add insult to injury the video file it was recording, when I lost control, was corrupted.
I found this UA-cam video, followed the instructions, and was able able to recover the complete video, from take-off, to roof bounce, to crashing back to earth. The drone looks like it will never fly again, but thanks to GreenBox's video I was able to recover the footage, which has made the loss of the drone easier to live it.
Thank you!
Im sorry for your drone. Glad i could turn your total disaster into a "just" disaster...
You already save me two times man. Thanks :D
Haha glad to hear 🙌. I feel like I should start selling subscription for returning customers 😂
Worked! Just restored a beautiful drone shot. Thank you a lot.
You are welcome :)
hey man i really need your help cuz im seriously losing it, so i was working on a video and i did something stupid on the middle of it and downloaded a plugin for vegas, so this changed my original files to sfk files so i tried your method and it worked well until i got to the recover_mp4.exe broken.mp4 result.h264 result.aac --ext part. it says Cannot open file 'broken.mp4' and im at a lose of what to do now, is there any way to fix this or am i just doomed
The sfk files are only waveforms and complementary. Your mp4 have to be somewhere. However, your error message sounds like you either did not change "broken.mp4" to the name of the actual broken mp4 file or the path specified to the broken.mp4 is wrong.
@@GreenBoxMedia thank you for the reply i actually fixed it although i have no idea how, it just suddenly started working again but seriously i have no idea how
hi @GreenBox thanks for this video tutorial! i have a problem with a sony a7r2 video file! do you think can these method works ?
as far was I know the a7r2 this should help. if not try restore.media
Brother, I dont know how much I have to thank you... Thats so brilliant
You are very welcome
Awesome! Thanks for the video. Do you know if this works differently from wondershare repairit? I tried to fix some videos with wondershare but only the first 5-10 seconds are fixed. After this time videos become very blurry and pixeled
I have no idea about their tool other than that they spam my inbox with "collaboration" requests for over a year now.
Many thanks GreenBox - so glad I found you.
Thank you so much for giving me some hope! I have a problem though... half of the screen is recovered and the other half is gray/glitchy though the whole video. Do you know any fixes for that?
same here. Any advice anyone?
Thank you so much for saving my video, simple and clear steps, better than any fix tools I found on internet.
You're welcome!
God, how I love you ... you just saved a video of my wedding ceremony.
thank you very much
Happy to help!
Thank you so much! I recovered a 1 hour 44 minutes zoom lecture with this video. However it's mute. It doesn't have any audio, i'm so bummed. Is there something I might have done wrong?
i tried this with another corrupt 30min recording today. it didn't recover the audio this time either but only the video
You save my life I have a quiz this Thursday thank you!!!! YOU DESERVE A MILLION SUBS!
You're very welcome!
Amazing, audio was a bit smashed, but it worked. Thanks!
Thanks bro you saved me 30usd, to all new people trying this solution, ffmpeg files might not be in the same location as other so quick fix is copy and paste both working and corrupted files + recover_mp4 file (or rather extract/unzip recover_mp4 to ffmpeg location i.e. under bin folder of ffmpeg then run command from beginning i.e. recover_mp4.exe ......etc.
Sir the best video i saw till now for this video recover.. and the 1st ever among those Many which worked
I really thank you for you being generous and wise enough to share this information.. it really helped a lot... Thank you thank you sir......😊😊
Glad it helped
You're a Life Saver
Please there's a question I really need cleared must the two files be on same resolution??
Should be. You can try a different resolution i however haven't tried that yet
My computer just crashed while in the middle of an OBS recording, that file was corrupt, I tried using an online method but it didn't work. I tried this method and it did the job!
Glad to hear you got your recording back!
Thank you very much bro today i recorded an important official meeting and atlast the video corrupted. With the help of you i got it back. i was really helpful to me. Thanks a lot bro
Glad I could help
Lifesaver!!!impossible !!!
U r amazing !!!
Though mine the voice was still corrupted but the full video was back for free without any purchase or license or cracks for any software.
Happy to help 👍
You Are an Angel! Thanks to You I manged to save a video file, where ALL the other tricks would not Work!
Glad I could help!
It worked! Thank you so much! Yesterday I recorded a flood and got an accident where I fell into a deep enough sewer. The last minute of the videos got corrupted, now it works. But the scenes where I fell to the water can not be recovered maybe due to the camera damage.
Glad to hear you at least got some of your footage back!
Damn!, I didn't believe until i tried it... Is actually working... The problem is that i only have a sound for first few seconds of the movie then the rest is mute... Still better than nothing. Thank you!
Happy to help. restore.media (same dev) might be able to get the audio back as well.
What should I do if I need to restore corrupted file with 2 auido tracks? I beg you for help. I can restore video file by using your guide, but recovered auido is not good, because i have 2 audio trakcs in corrupted video
Did you figure out a solution? I’m having a similar issue
@@zackfinchum same here ! audio is missing :(
absolute legend i spent hours trying to find something that helps before i happened to find this video
That's very good information. But when I convert it, the sound comes out, but the video doesn't come out. What's wrong? Help me!
Thank you very much, followed your steps and I got my not working video worked again.
Happy to help ✌️
My video corrupted due to power cut off during recording, I tried this way to repair my 50 mins of interview video. However, after recovering it, top part of the video is gray in color & the gray part of it sort of covered part of my subject's head. which means I cant use the footage for my edit. Any help? :(
This sounds like the file is either damaged or the tool could properly recover it due to a metadata mismatch. Best advice is to give restore.media a try if they (same dev) can repair it.
unfortunately 🤕didn't work for me: "FATAL ERROR: The file 'broken.mp4' cannot be recovered. The entire file is filled by FF byte!"
same, it says 0bytes. did you find a solution?
Hi, the file is wanted to recover was 1.86 gb but the result file was only 9 mb. Also the audio is there but in place of video there are random pixels. Please guide
thank you bro. i used each and every software but nothing worked out. and all software were paid. thank you... you saved my day
lots of love
❤
Glad I could help
Thank you... This worked very well... while many online tools had failed... Appreciate your work
Glad it was helpful
Thank you so much i had half an hour recording of a party that was corrupted and you're the first one that could help me with the problem.
Dropped a like&sub!
glad it helped!
Thank you so much for this it kind of partially helped me.
Earlier my file was not at all opening but at least now file is opening but the video & audio are still corrupted.
Is there any way in which I can recover the whole file?
I had a very important lecture which got corrupted
Your best bet would be to check with restore.media
Cannot find 'mdat' atom in first 64MB of 'bad.mp4'
FATAL ERROR: The file 'bad2.mp4' cannot be recovered. The entire file is filled by 00 byte!
what do i do now?
these were the files i recovered from a data recovery software but they ended up being restored but corrupted
same, it says 0bytes. did you find a solution?
Is it possible to do this process with multiple corrupted files simultaneously or do I have to repeat this process per corrupted file?
CONTEXT:
I have 30 corrupted MP4 files which are gaming clips from my old PS4. That PS4 no longer exists so I can't re-copy them.
I've done a test on one of the clips using your process and it worked! so now just wondering if i can input the rest of them all at the same time.
You can either write a custom script that runs the commands for each file or if you are not familiar with scripting you can give restore.media a try.
@@GreenBoxMedia no worries thanks for all the help. It's good too see years after the upload your still active in the comments helping people out, u don't see much of that these days. Myself and I'm sure many others, appreciate your work . Thankyou and keep it up 👍
May i ask. In here you got 2 videos the broken one and the working one. Do it need a working video to be the same as the broken one? Or it doesnt have to and just put other video from obs? Because if the working needs to be the same as the broken then im screwed
it needs to be created with the same camera / using the same codec & settings.
@@GreenBoxMedia just tried it earlier and it worked! Thank you!!!
You saved my project TKS!
Happy to help! :)
I have a 4gb file with 1h20 recording. I used the method of your video and it restored twenty minutes of the video, the first 1GB. Does this mean that the rest of the file has no hope of recovery?
Hey. This shouldn't be the case because I Didi it with a 3 hour stream too and it just worked. Maybe try the latest version on restore.media (not sponsored)
@GreenBoxMedia - I have FFmpeg install on my Mac Studio, was wondering if you knew of a Mac version of the recover_mp4.exe script for Mac terminal, that would handle the analysis of the GOOD video, so I can use that to help it determine how to recover my corrupted MP4. Many thanks!
This worked perfectly for helping me with my corrupted GoPro files!
I got this error upon the last step: Error applying bitstream filters to an output packet for stream #0:1.
[aac_adtstoasc @ 000001be4b227b80] Multiple RDBs per frame with CRC is not implemented. Update your FFmpeg version to the newest one from Git. If the problem still occurs, it means that your file has a feature which has not been implemented.
I feel like I am so close! I did play the file, which was a huge step as it actually does play now! But it is super glitchy. Am I SOL?
It is possible that your codec / container uses some features that were not implemented in the recover_mp4 tool. Since it is not receiving any updates, you are out of luck. However the developer is now running the site: restore.media
