Great video. We were early adopters of the Red cameras and bought an early one, upgrading as each new versions came out. We shot a lot of national television shows with one of these old beasts. As I recall, we replaced a Panasonic Varicam whose body cost us $75,000 and shot in 720 when HD first raised its ugly head. So the Red One was a huge bargain and upgrade to us at the time, and we used the crap out of it. The down side of the camera was that it was clearly designed by engineers and not by production people so there are a lot of design elements that are a fairly big pain in the ass (you mention many of them) and it was difficult to rig because of the body design, though work arounds appeared not too long after its release.
