Thank you Kris. What you are and, what your meant to be, speaks it's name, though you were born to be.
Close the gap of the dark years in between, you and me. I have seen where the wolf has slept by the silver stream.
Come wash the night time clean, come grow the scorched ground green. Turn the wheel through the storm and fly.
Peace.

Amazing! I could listen to them all day and never get tired of them!
For anyone else currently getting buried in this NE blizzard (1/29/22), may this warm your cockles :)
My cockles are warming as we speak, as the wife who run me out in the C, R, & S complains next to me. Oh well, Dead stays on today.
Thank you 😊 Enjoy the no (hopefully) commitment day 🌹💀✌️❤️💙
My cockles are singing along! 🔊🔊♥️ Thank you WOS.
I my friend am plowing, still have 300 traps in the water and I got a new boat.... Estimated Prophet! Lots of love up here in Maine for you
Each is a lucky legend. Trade places anyone? Let your life proceed by it's own design.
Peace.
I remember in 1984, when I was 14, my neighbor got his first car. Some used beater. It had a Grateful Dead bumper sticker on it. I thought The Dead was a metal band or something. I figured it all out eventually.
WOS !!💀💀👍GREAT CHANNEL THANK YOU 🙏💀🌹 i saw the NYC Radio City run of shows in 1980 and this brings back the memories. Oh yeah!!!!
Thanks very much. Needed this! Quite a storm. Lots of love family (W);

Thank you WoS. This is proof the Dead did not peak in 1971, or 1977, or at any time for that matter. They just kept getting better.
If there is a fountain of youth, it is here. Always Grateful, ever Dead. Charlie Miller is a legend.
Cippolina is God. LSD saves.

Having met the man once, and danced w/in 20 yards of him a dozen times in a club w/ 1 toilet you had to
duck under his guitar neck while he played to reach ... I feel I saw enough to say that one of John Cipollina's
many beautiful qualities was he NEVER thought he was God & had no desire for others to regard him as such
you sound like yr brain is a billboard for bumper stickers ...
@@RasMajnouni
my 2nd felt too harsh but maybe useful
I'm glad that I'm also, as Stefan is, nourished by hyper-enthusiasm myself
and Cipollina, both as guitarist & spirit, is one of my hyper-enthusiasms, so
I feel what he feels
BTW, the first time I had to duck under that guitar neck becuz I couldn't wait to pee, I felt reluctant
but he never seemed to miss a note when I or others did so, even amidst the most complex jam
after the 3rd or 4th time I didn't even hesitate.
love yr "handle" BTW ... if that's the right internet slang for it
I see "tunnel vision" hasn't been a side-effect of choosing it

Used to teach multilingual kids.
I entirely wish I could read that script and speak+understand its language
Thanks for the kind words.
@@RasMajnouni full-time years it was 1st and 2nd grade
spent some years substituting kindergarten, pre-K, 3rd and some middle school
my most interesting challenge was 4 to 6 weeks with a dozen kids from a variety of places, none of whom
spoke any English nor Spanish (which I speak well enough to navigate kids, but not complex parent exchanges)
in a temp class that was a holding place for kids the District couldn't figure out where to place becuz
they arrived late & legal class-size limits left no available 3rd grade spots for those weeks. that was in a
school district whose admin was more interested in preventing than promoting effective learning. If I'd heard
me describe what I saw + experienced in first+last districts I was in; I wouldn't believe me. I retired with a case
of PTSD, and never have described the cruel insanity of the sadistic admin my final years.
Didn't recognize your script specifically; but should have. I feel as said above about all spoken+written languages.
The language that most fascinates me is Chinese -- musical sound, beautiful script, the construction of the
written language & the way inflected tones affect meaning -- language shapes thought as well as expressing it,
I'd love to have learned Chinese. I feel the same about diffs in music's languages in diff cultures & centuries.
p.s. almost all of my classroom teaching was in urban central California
I did a wide variety of semi-paid & volunteer gigs w/ kids in other settings also.
what I admire about Hebrew tradition is how central the fairness-oriented legal/ethical tradition (seems to me to be)
I confess I'm not a fan of what any humans' God concepts; if accepting the premise of a Creator of the Universe + the
vastness+complexity of Creation, the notion that any human or group can mindread the nature of a Being the delivered
Creation seems to me arrogant beyond belief, and for people to kill each other feeling certain about that even moreso.
I don't know the nature of Nature; nor believe in believing (if that word implies certainty). I watch w/ wonder, &appreciate.
Even from a Godless Darwinian random mutation shaped by environmental survival advantages viewpt; the
joy of sex motivating/initiating the amazingly complex processes of gestation makes every birth its own miracle.
which takes us pretty far afield from the beauty of Mr. John Cipollina (R.I.P.)
And when the day had ended
With rainbow colours blended
His mind remained unbended
He had to die
You know he had to die......."When I die, bury me deep, lay two speakers at my feet, put some headphones on my head and always play the Grateful Dead ."

I worked in Boston for 18 hours yesterday removing snow. Great to wake up a listen to this. Awesome
Thank God for you and your crew keep up the good work. One of my favorite Dick's Picks is Boston Music Hall Nov.-Dec. 1973
What an amazing show! This should be a dicks picks or at least a live release. Great sets!
A few songs from this date are on the Reckoning album.
I've just got to say, I LOVE these shows from fall '80. I come back to them time and again. They are like a warm hug for my soul.
Thank you WoS for all that you do to share these shows with the world. 🌹🌹🌹
100%
Thank you for this....just, thank you. GD at their best off the soundboard! Caught 12 shows on this East coast tour in 80 when i was 18yrs young. Changed my life!!!
You're a legend. (Me too in '79-'88)
Listening thru headphones in bed. This is such a wonderful show! Thanks for posting this gem!
Jerry's voice sounds so strong sweet and hypnotic. I don't think he was ever lauded the credits he deserved for his talent as a vocalist story teller. His presentation of a song was the unique sound of the Grateful Dead. He could weave a song into a journey with depth and feelings. Examples Cold Rain and Snow, and Terapin Station. I could be on a long car trip and my mind could go on a trip with Jerry in one of his songs. Miles would fly by. Thanks for posting this gem. I am sitting between two tower speakers and getting all the notes and instruments.
Never gets old.
Jerry Garcia band San Rafael Marin County San Francisco California house that Jerry Built Tucson Arizona Sonoran Desert hot sun heard a voice inside my head telling me to dream same old voice I've always believed they say a lot of troubles coming but it don't have to come to you I'm telling you so you can tell Rastafari
Very well said and so very very true. I laud him here and give him very much deserved credit for his vocalist. story telling skills which are unmatched in effectiveness and numbers of works.

Yep. And yep :)
Lord have mercy. Jerry is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥in this show!!!
servin' em up hot !!
Wow,Brent sure fills it in A whole lot better than Donna Jean ever did [ live ] .I miss you Brent & Jerry
Brent>>>> 💜
@Mark Schultz you’re right, I just get excited hearing him sometimes lol
GD history is history. Brent is the best, and the 80s was my era. But he is on zero recording of the SPECTACULAR shows of the 70s. Here in 2023, I love the entire history.
I like Donna.
Jerry was cool with Donna being a band member in the Grateful Dead & the Jerry Garcia Band. Jerry's choice is good enough for my ears. I think Donna sounds lovely most of the time. Yes, she had moments where she sounded off but so did Jerry & all other singers. I prefer to focus on when they got it right & the sound was Heavenly. The times they got it wrong just make me smile & chuckle as it's all part of the experience & the "off" moments make it feel that much better when done right, which, to their credit as professionals, was most of the time.
acoustic Ripple is just about the most beautiful thing in the world
I keep coming back to this show. its real hot. first set is like bluegrass without a banjo or fiddle. Beautiful Cassidy and China Doll. Also underrated Heaven Help the Fool. And of course Ripple!
Needed this tonight.
Just stumbled on this post. Made my night!
Mahalo nui Loa,
Aloha from the Islands
Same here! Just added a week to these old bones
I always thought the 80’s run with the acoustic sets would make a great boxed set. 🤞
Indubitably!
I'm with you there!
Yeah, nothing better than acoustic Dead ..... :-)
Not quite the same but they did release a live album with the two acoustic sets from Oct 9 and 10, 1980 on vinyl a few years ago for RSD. It sounds unbelievably good.
How do y'all like that weird Feel Like A Stranger? It's tasty

My god Jerry’s solo on TLEO. Can’t hold back the tears man. Lots of music moves my soul but nothing remotely like or so often as the Dead. ❤️🔥
I was diggin Brent's part... Well both really
Btw, best TLEO EVER
one of my fave shows all time and the crispy recording...so needed this today! thank you!
Working the grave yard shift. Listening now. Ty for posting. Jerry passed before i ever got a chance to see them. I relish every moment of the music. Every day.
This show is epic. I was singing Monkey 🐒 & the Engineer at my therapist playing Legos. Thanks ✌
We are high in the high plains listening to it again. When we shove a selenite wand into the side of our neck we can hit every note ✌️

Your bootlegs weren’t stolen at the Capitol Theater by any chance
BEAUTIFUL version of They Love Each Other... thank you!
Who's singing backup on Passenger and a few of the other songs?
just putting down my Name, I was here.
I’m really psyched this has the acoustic set included !
To me, this is a show I would’ve loved a front row seat to.
However, this great shared gem 💎 is allot of fun 😎 -- “ … just like being there … “ as a crowd member shouts out after Dire Wolf.
Thank You for sharing this classy treat.
Mindblowing on every level WOS. A million thanks! 🤩🤩🤩
This is fantastic
8/19/80 Chicago Uptown was my 1st show, so I have a tender spot for 1980. Thanks for the crispy chunky peanut buttery show to groove on while I create. I’m so (pun intended) grateful to have been born at the right time to have experienced the full Grateful Dead Monty. I was listening in 74 in 10th grade. That’s probably my only regret that I didn’t go with my two friends to the Cap Centre Wall of Sound 74 show. Oh well. Now I’m just thinking I’m one lucky old son. And if my parents had any idea 💡 of the good times we were having once initiation was complete, well…ok shut me up. Nice Passenger btw!
Thank you. Loser into the passenger is 🔥 vocals and that Big Brent energy
This is just a beautiful show. Thank you so much!
It is all good. No excuses. Quiet, hear every sound, it is life as it can be .... a supreme pleasure to be part of.
why did you even post this? so dumb lol peese and luv
Just love these acoustic sets! Bare bones dead indeed!! Basic but still weird!¡!!
just watched some videos of the hallway scenes in 80s-90s. god li miss that..
On my first visit to S.F. from the east, I picked up the pink section of the Sunday Chronicle and saw the ads--they didn't mention the band's name and didn't have to. I mailed in my money order and scored tix to two shows. What a way for a kid from out east to see his first west coast shows! The acoustic sets sparkeled at these 15th anniversary shows, and Bill Graham was manning the bar between sets, no kidding! Thanks for that generous pour of Jack!
@kungat108 3 hits LSD @ a GD show is the way to go! Shrooms are better for Shpongle! You shoulda at least bought 2-3 grams for each of you! Haha 😁... Oh, and at any concert you should always try your best to get in the center about 100 ft from the stage! The sound should fill your entire being! ✌️
How I taped at the time. Nakamichi's Dolby was a bitch to transfer to regular Dolby.
Pleas don't murder or muddy me~!
Fantastic show, can't wait for 10-10-1980 (best show of 1980) to get this clean up treatment
Snow ❄️ coming down hard in Boulder Co. Excellent recording! Long live the Dead 💀
God I miss Boulder. Class of '82 (Up on the Hill)
Jerry is God. LSD saves.

Sheesh! That Loser 🃏 🔊 Love ‘80/81 Thank you WOS!
I have to say the era of one acoustic, and two electric sets is probably my favourite format of the Dead showing a decidedly advance ability to play eclectically as well as draw from multiple sources for their music. Of course my heart remains in the '88 through '91 era! Diggin'🇨🇦🔈🔉🔊🎼🎶🎵👍🕺💃 the Good Music here in Northern Alberta Canada ❤️⚡💙
That was also the format for a brief time in '70 and '71....when they toured extensively with N.R.P.S. One acoustic set, usually a mishmash of both bands, then 2 (or sometimes 3 🧡🧡🧡) electric sets. Some of those shows, especially the NY college shows....got a MITE LONG....🌹🌹🌹
@@gymrat22able Grateful for the historical point! I will try to collect some of those shows, and listen in👂🦻👍❤️⚡💙🇨🇦🔈🔉🔊🥳

Thanks again for another classic pure dope upload harvested and shared at a time I need it most...this is one smoking show, on God
Clean show. So weird to hear Brent's singing so reserved which of course makes sense. He's not just going to come in and be so out front. Passenger gives hints of what Brent's singing will bring in the future.
He started becoming more prominant in the 80's when Jerry's bad habits started catching up with him,.especially the smoking.
I had the same thought. Brent in the more traditional comping role, which like you said makes total sense. Goshdarn do I love 80s Dead lol
Is that Brent on Cassidy? I guess it must be, but for a moment I thought it was Donna, backing Weir.
I love the early 80's 3 set shows! Some of my all time favorites. Keep spreading the love!
Well, thank you! This is incredible and a super gift!!
Sounds great … I can hear every note 😎
Wow! What a killer show! Unreal. Thanks so much. NFA!

The sound quality is truly remarkable, a brilliant performance. Thanks for posting.
This is a legendary show! Crystal clear sound quality. Superb in every way.
God bless the Dead.
shhhhh im trying to listen
Why does Bobby seem so frequently buried under keyboards? Anybody else hear it like that?
Crackling show btw, good job...
This run in SF then to nyc for Halloween is one if their epic marathons of shows. They were a well oiled machine in the fall of 80. 🙏🏻✌🏻❤️
Dank je wel Jongens (vergeef me de uitdrukking) ! Super fijn. En groet uit Amsterdam Oost.
Kein Problem mon ami.
We are everywhere!
A woodpecker heard this, and now it has made music on a metal drain pipe and a hollow log. A very deep rattling, and yet it's a female pileated woodpecker. Never seen this behavior before.

Not sure if I was at this particular show but went to all of the GD runs at the Warfield. The Warfield was a beautiful theater, all the seats were good, sound was great. I not only went to see the GD there. I saw The Clash, Weather Report, Jefferson Starship, Bob Dylan, The Talking Heads, Bob Weir, I think it was Ratdog,
Caught a few of the Radio City shows including Halloween and had forgotten how primed Jerry was for those shows. Thanks for reminding me. The sound quality on this recording is stellar blue.
Almost snuck by me. Excellent once again! Thank you
Mastodon album art 🔥
Love the art💜
Thank you Wall Of Sound.
Wow a show on my 18th bday. Loving the intimacy of great parts of this. Feels like them tuning in closely with each other in the acoustic set puts them into highly sensitive mode in the electric sets.
Really clean in Bose noise cancelling headphones. Sounds like bass is a little weak, and I miss the hard panning of earlier years, but it makes for nice headphones experience. 😉
Gotta rant a little about Healey running vocals randomly thru a small bathroom sounding reverb.
Sounds horrible when he does it to Bobby, but when he does it to Jerry in what *I think* was China Doll... in what was previously a PERFECT recording capture... I wanna throw my electric grape slurpee at him. Right down the shirt. 😎
In phones you can hear him throw the vocal into a send bus, and has a shit verb loaded up, or no verb even! and you hear the voice get doubled, and immediate phase issues.
He did it bunch this show, Healey.
That small bathroom reverb is horrible. End rant!
Another great find WOS! Cheers!
Update - this Let it Grow is frickin amaaaaaaaazeballs. Can hear Phil better too.⚡💀⚡

Damn I like this...makes work much better. Thank you!
This was in the middle of their sweet spot IMHO. Of course, I love all of their work from '68 - late 80's. '90's kinda wacky. I do have tix for their final show '23 in SF. It will be sweet sorrow.
Damn this sounds good! i usually don't follow this period so much , but soon after the last good album they were playn' just like it with the new Brent vibe..yea "i'm goona go for" some 79-82 for sure !

I remember meeting Franken and Davis they were in and out of a few of those shows if I memory is correct what a wild time
Goodness, talk about gestalt linkage! I'm stuck in a cabin during a blizzard in central US. Actually sort of a dark hollow. I've heard accoustic cuts, but never an accoustic concert like this. Saw them thirteen times, but always all electric.
