- Hands-On Habitat:
As reservoirs age, natural places for fish to find food and shelter can be lost. So crews in Northeast Texas are sinking some strange-looking structures and seeding native plants to improve the situation for both fish and fishermen.
This project was funded in part by a grant from the Sport Fish Restoration Program.
Great information. Thank you for sharing
Really cool stuff. Are there any other lakes in south central Texas with these fish habitats? I'll have to get a plate.
We're going to need these in Lake Houston special since they're removing all the debris on the lake
That aint no lie....Fishing this lake is so hard, the Crosby/Dam side over to Dussen Park has no structure or vegetation. Bare bottom sand and mud.....I've caught more fresh water drum than Bass or Crappie.
Put some of those in town lake and lake Austin since those (starile) grass carp y'all put in ate all the hydrilla and grasses...
Can Texas Parks and Wildlife please do to Lake Houston
I wish they would do this in Alabama on the Tennessee river system...
How did you sink the cubes?
They already sprayed and killed all of our aquatic plants last year
