TWELVE videos in the last 3 months. How unbelievably blessed we are to get so much of Steve lately. The dark days of 5+ months without hearing that musical spoon are behind us boys.
2:02 I love this sequence. ''Never a dull moment.'' after he places a paper napkin and a plastic spoon on the table with greatest care. You're too cool for us, Steve. Thank you.
my father did 30 years in CAF. Back then the Army didnt care about waste and after a 6mth deployment whatever IMPs didnt get used, it was literally thrown out so dad would bring back like 50 boxes of the 12 packs. We lived off Canadian Forces MRE. Took them camping, fishing, school lunch. Thanks for uploads!
Thats definitely not healthy. My second tour in afghanistan we more or less lived off of those for 7 months. Once a month we maybe got some apples or other fresh food. That crap has a lot of preservatives. Messed alot of peoples digestion up. Not meant for long term and yet thats how it played out for us. But hey. We got sling loads of pop tarts and pop. You would think nutrition would be important.

I worked in a warehouse once that had various chemicals and dyes, and one day someone spilled a giant barrel that had blue die in it. When me and my friend were walking through it one day, he goes, "man, it smells blue in here". Then I realized, some colors really do have a smell. I don't know how else to describe it other than the brain visual centers crossing wires with the scent centers, but Blue definitely has a smell.
I'm eating Canadian IMPs from 2017/2018 thinking I'm tough stuff over here....Steve says, "hold my grape beverage base" and proceeds to pull a 2006 IMP out of his backpack.....I bow before the king! Take care man!
I’m from Canada and a retired army reservist. I know all about those imps. I love them. There is a use for those cardboard boxes the main meal and the the second course meals. After when u cook the main meal u cut one of those boxes in half and put the main coarse meal in the bottom half of the box and use it as a holder so u donot burn ur hands up.
Any chance you were also in CAF during 80s and miss (the idea at least) of how rations had condiments in those yellow aluminum tubes. Honey, peanut butter, ketchup, mustard, margarine (butter), grape/strawberry/raspberry jams. Oddly I remember a kind of mayonnaise in the tubes for a short time. Never seen Steve get his hands on one of those early IMPs from before 1990-ish, but we can always hope! LOL
@@johnanon6938 They were great, especially the butter. They were holdovers from the old tinned rats; now those were great! canned bacon, tiny whole chicken in gelatin. Heavy though
Can I just say, as a Canadian teenager in 2006, this is really nostalgic for me. You could absolutely find all these foods and flavors in my parents' kitchen. Mango juice, peaches and cream oat meal, ham with honey mustard! Wow, what a blast from the past! It's just missing a couple of darts and a tall boy, eh? Lol Needless to say, our boys over there would have been very happy and reminded of home with this one! Good find Steve! Big fan, thanks again! P.s. You're supposed to mix the hot chocolate into the coffee bud, that's the Canuck way. But you already knew that, eh? Eta: I paused the video right before you did that to write this. 😅
I don't think I've ever been disappointed by your Canadian IMP videos, this looks like yet another delicious quality ration! I want to think that hot chocolate might be sort of a holiday flavor perhaps? Surprised there was no beverage bag with so many drink options! Happy holidays to you Steve, glad to see your videos again 😊
Just sat down to eat a meal and went "i should break a taco shell on this mexican rice, like in a Steve ration review." Now I'm watching you while eating it!
Hey man, I appreciate your reviews, but i especially love the early 2000 canadian IMP ones. as a person who was a kid back then, it's crazy nostalgic seeing things like wet wipes and random candies/packets that you would see everywhere in restaurants in canada during the production time of these IMPs. As a side note, you're super wholesome.
Love this! Just finished a fifteenth hour shift and I’m now sat in bed enjoying the spoils of your videos again. Keep it up and happy holidays 🎄(Scotland)

To be fair that napkin is vastly, vastly better than the tiny wet wipe that comes with US MREs.
