Witnessing history right here. Two spin off shows from one show at the same time. Mork and Mindy/Laverne & Shirley that is really awesome my friend. This Is An Iconic Moment In Television Sitcom History.
Misty eyes watching all these TV Icons on the screen together, so ,so funny, the Golden Age of TV, sadly gone but fondly remembered by those of us who lived when it was actually happening..
God Robin was HILARIOUS. I imagine it must've been incredibly difficult to keep a straight face as one of these actors in scenes with the Genius Robin Williams
fla la but you also got to remember he was on cocaine when he was Mork. So they probably didn't know what exactly he would do. they would know what he was supposed to do not what he was going to do. Hence the pauses for add living.
Doctor Odin even after he went clean he was still incredibly unpredictable. Rumor has it Disney has hours of lines improvised by Williams for Aladdin that they aren’t willing to release
That pause when he's ad libbing -- I have a feeling he had no idea what he was about to say after "there's one thing and it's against the law..." and then coming up with the wrist-orgasm and the obsession with earlobes. Obviously that wasn't in the Happy Days script... and Paramount saw it, they cut it that way and went along with it. The thing is, how many people have the guts to use their first and maybe last shot at a sit-com as a chance to improv, with racy innuendos that steal a scene from the lead actor? It wasn't so much his sense of humor as the fact that he seemed never afraid to dive into a joke or a story before he knew where he was going -- with the confidence that he'd find the punch line when he got there. This is a great example. But to do that you have to trust your instincts completely.
OMG! I am dying from laughing so much. We're in 2019 and there is no better comedy. The sitcoms today don't even hold a candle to the gold standard of 40 and 50 years ago.
I've always heard he took his copy of the script home/to his hotel before shooting and read it, then took a match to it. Then improvised the entire episode. "Did you read the script, Mr. Williams." "Read it? Yes, yes I have." I heard they were furious that he did that, but once the ratings came in they offered him his own show. Thus, Mork & Mindy was born.
uh...no that's not what happened. He was rushed onto the set to play the character at the last minute-3 days before shooting. They were besides themselves with what they had got. All the writers were despeartely scratching down everything he said in reherseals because he was giving them better jokes than they had come up with. All the main characters knew their job for the episode was to let this guy shine and they did. The crowd gave him a standing ovation on Friday the shooting night and when Michael Eisner at Paramount heard that he said we have to give this guy a show. Mork and Mindy was born and didn't even have a pilot.

Compare his (so called) comedic roles against others like Tom Hanks in Big. Lots of the same perversions portrayed. Big people playing little people kind of like Mork aging backwards.
It's like some kind of open secret .....
@@watchcitydog Damn that’s some next level shit right there
@@watchcitydog you say "perversion" others call it daily life since before christianity, judaism or even greek mythology.
Telivision was "wholesome" back in the day, as was movies and radio and "perversion" still was rampant, just not openly.
Without a doubt one of my favorite TV shows from the seventies, I don't know how in the hell the cast and crew was able to keep a straight face during the filming of this episode! It sure be something to see how many takes it took for them to get this right.
The good ol days!
This is the period when happy days would go off the rails in many episodes
This was from Mork and Mindy. Henry and Penny just guest starred in this case
I seem to remember one when Fonz prayed to God to help Richie recover from his bike accident then when Richie starts to recover Fonz turns round and gives a thumbs up and Heyyyy to God.
It was Happy Days. Not Mork and Mindy yet.
The only time all three major stars from all three different Garry Marshall shows came together.
No remember when more and Fonz kind of fought down at Arnold's
@@robertchandler5055 Yeah but Penny nor anyone from Laverne and Shirley for that matter didn't appear in that episode.
Garry Marshall didn’t do Joanie loves Chachi? Good for him. That show was a disaster
@@kevinburke6055 So was the last couple of Happy Days seasons after Ron Howard left.
Well Laverne and Shirley Joanie loves Chachie and Mork and Mindy branched out from Happy Days
HAHAHAHAHAHA....
Good old classic comedy, I was a baby when my parents were watching this, Laverne and Shirley and Mork and Mindy.
RIP Robin & Penny, two iconic legends of screen and stage.
Have you watched Awakenings? It stars Robin Williams and directed by Penny Marshall.
Mr Williams was such a wonderful man so funny ,this episode was so funny 😂
Witnessing history right here. Two spin off shows from one show at the same time. Mork and Mindy/Laverne & Shirley that is really awesome my friend. This Is An Iconic Moment In Television Sitcom History.
Misty eyes watching all these TV Icons on the screen together, so ,so funny, the Golden Age of TV, sadly gone but fondly remembered by those of us who lived when it was actually happening..
Mork: Perhaps you'd like to slide lips then. Fonz: Aaaaaaaaayyy!!...
nonplayerzealot4 it was still weird then
The good old days back in the 70s how I miss those days
Ahhh the 70's, great times.
More like 60’s
@@telemachus7732 No it was filmed in the 70's.
You could call them, the happy days
@@DimSquadGaming Yes unlike these days.
Did larve really Marry the doze. What happed to larve I thought she was alive!?.
Did she marry fozie larve why did someone say she died!?.
Doctor Odin even after he went clean he was still incredibly unpredictable. Rumor has it Disney has hours of lines improvised by Williams for Aladdin that they aren’t willing to release
RIP Robin Williams & John Ritter :( :(
Mork 1971 "parts are interchangeable" - 2021 "Hold my beer"
Lol I was thinking dear lordLOL. No one would behave guessed.
I grew up watching this show - thanks for the Memories R.R
Back when TV was a hit.....
"Hard to tell women from men, parts are interchangeable". Mork really did come from the future, he came from 2021.
Lol
lmfaooooo
true that
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣lmao
Why, was he hanging around?
Laverne!!! What a great cross over episode
Well said. He was the Obi-Wan Kenobi of comedy. He gave himself to comedy completely.
How could she resist Mork's charms? It would be a night she would never forget!
OMG! I am dying from laughing so much. We're in 2019 and there is no better comedy. The sitcoms today don't even hold a candle to the gold standard of 40 and 50 years ago.
This was 1980s 30 yrs ago
@@flatracingguruuk1160 Actually. 1970s. 1978.
"Hard to tell, on my planet parts are interchangeable."
Earth has become Ork!
I swear i was going to say that 😭😭😭😭😭
Exactly, Mork has just described present day Earth!
Yep. Except it's not remotely funny.
you poor little thing! you've been hanging around the wrong women lol!
Penny Marshall probably has some good memories of those days. It looks like it was non stop laughter.
Yes. Rest in Paradise Penny and Robin. 📺🎬📽️🎞️☺️🌤️🌥️🌦️
@Empire Strikes Back Garry was not her dad. Garry Marshall was her brother!
Henry Winkler deserved an Emmy or Oscar for keeping a straight face with the scenes ❤️🌹🌹🌹😅😂🤣 esp the scene w Mork s wrist
“You have a lovely fungus growing on your head ! “ Lol 😂
Coolest human in the universe meets the silliest alien in the universe! XD
Insanely good, Marshall and Williams together again. Rip you two.
I've always heard he took his copy of the script home/to his hotel before shooting and read it, then took a match to it.
Then improvised the entire episode.
"Did you read the script, Mr. Williams."
"Read it? Yes, yes I have."
I heard they were furious that he did that, but once the ratings came in they offered him his own show.
Mork and Mindy was born and didn't even have a pilot.
how can anyone dislike this?? I MEAN, IT'S THE FONZ, & MORK!!!!!!!!
Fonze tried so hard not to laugh!! XD
Two legends. ❤️ Robin, gone too soon!!
Seeing Robin Williams, totally is a comic genius and great timing to be a legendary actor, who sadly diagnosed with Alzeihmas disease it's very sad. He's truly missed 😔😔🇯🇲
Mr Williams was so amazing he could make anyone laugh ,suffered from depression but he hid it well ,like me I am a entertainer and suffer from depression,I hide my pain behind my smile
Fonz: "Don't men date women on your planet?"
Mork: "Hard to tell. Parts are interchangeable."
James Landon modern society is very much the same way. Lol
Yep that's what he said
+But It Sure is Fun your a strange person
+Michael Love Do you have a reason why or is that just a triggered Ad Hominem?
Sounds like Sweden
Robin Williams was a genius his sounds were second to none he was truly the funniest guy of his time late 70s early 80s when he started truly missed and a treasure to us all …
Robin was a comedic genius
A scene like this makes me wonder if maybe a bit better than I think it is, but requires the elevation of intensely practiced and talented actors
My face hurts from smiling and watching this.
