I'm tired of subsidizing this country; they've got health care, a robust social safety net, and (at least prior to this war) a budgetary surplus. I'm tired of Net running our foreign policy (and now domestic speech policy if one wants federal grants, apparently. Don't forget that half the states also make BDS illegal if you want a state contact.) The amount of global hate that our unchecked support of them generates is a danger to Americans, both domestically (nine eleven) and abroad (as the troops in the surrounding areas are sitting ducks.) I'm tired of being walked into wars for this country (Iraq, Syria, Libya). A little digging into our middle east policy post-WW2 seems to show that much of what we do there is to protect Izreal. America is a sovereign nation. It's time to make that clear to our "greatest ally."

As you mentioned - Over 2000 years ago - Rome annexed the same territory and the peace they provided was forced by the sword. Israelis see themselves as the chosen people (regardless of their religious views) and the land is theirs because God promised it to them, I doubt they would accept the gracious gift of any other country coming in to annex them regardless of intentions.

Put simply, if we annex Israel, you can abandon all notions of freedom at least as it is considered in a Jeffersonian lens. Federalism will be rendered further out of reach, and ideologies such as Neoconservatism will be revived through our sponsorship of such a plan.
While you're objectively correct in that our domination of the region would bring order ala a Rome, Persia, or Ottoman Empire, it will be through the lens of Empire and top down central Government, the likes of which even a Hamilton would find excessive.
We already see the effect Israel has on our domestic policy when it comes to prioritizing Order over Liberty, this effect would be magnified.

I have no intention of coming off as hostile. I'm just going to politely ask this:
What will we gain from annexing Israel? As a U.S. territory, we will most likely have to give it more taxpayer money, and we'll have to take in more refugees. Not to mention the threat of the U.S. being dragged into a larger regional war because it's easier for Iran and other countries that don't like us to attack U.S. territory.
Like with Haiti, what is America getting out of this deal? A stronger economy? Are we truly safer? How am I, average Joe Schmo American, benefitting from Israel as a U.S. territory? Because all I see from initial glance is downsides.
