Great review. Fully agree - Tucker
thanks, appreciate the comment from another well known reviewer!
Thanks for balanced review.
At 90kg wet with Glide 1085 I soon run out of power on thigh-high weak wind swell. Would a Whizz be better, and which one?
yes the whizz would be better, as to which one - the 1000 or the 1200, I would try to get a demo if you can to make that decision
I feel like Duotone/Fanatic foils are highly underrated in the market. Thanks for the review.
I would agree with this sentiment, I have only so far used the Whizz and the Glide but I have been thoroughly impressed with their performance. Also how DuoTone have been completely honest about what the foils are for in their literature rather than the usual hype we see from some brands where a new foil is touted at being amazing at everything.
this foil shape make me think of the cloud IX , the spitfire , interesting review !
I suspect it would be difficult to make a foil these days that wasn't close to some other brand in outline shape - of course foil section, camber and the curve of the foil (anhedral/dihedral) also play a part in the performance.
I really like your review on the Whizz. It is a very thorough test and I agree in your results! I love the Whizz and I can only add one use for which I really think it is a great choice. Downwinding in slow swell. Even on lakes. You can go crazy in carving the little wind chopp and in combination with its low stall speed it's amazing. And yes wake surfing is perfect on it as well. Turns so narrow in waves with little space in-between 😂😅. Thanks for your Video
Absolutely, surfing small bumps and trashy swell is it's super power, I agree.
@Wing-Tips🤙👌 I had the chance to try the 1200Whizz the last two days. And it really confirmed what you were saying about the Glide. It doesn't have more Glide than the 1000Whizz but again slower stall speed but also slower speed max and more beginner friendly due to its increased stability. I prefer the 1000 for Downwinding on Lake swell😅 (around 32km/h comfort zone) and the 850Whizz(37km/h)😅 for surfing a bit faster waves. ..rumours have it that a 750 will come out🥳. Cheers again 🙏
I would love to see you do a review of the afs pure v2 900.
I may get opportunity to ride the Pure as one of my friends has this foil - what I may not get opportunity to do is spend enough time on it to do a reasonable review as it takes multiple sessions and mixed conditions to truly get a review worthy understanding of a foil.
@@Wing-Tips Your reviews are really detailed and structured, so appreciate it must take a significant amount of time to complete. I guess you will also be trying an art v2 at some point too given your previous views on the axis.. looks like they might have come up with something that will better suit winging.
I have to say, that was the best review of any foil, I have ever seen!! Have the Whizz and You just nailed it in every aspect!!
Wow, thank you! I try to be thorough and keep to the facts.
