      Well, Alcest is not black metal anymore of course, but Neige didn't forget about the roots completely, songs like "Oiseaux de Proie" or "Je suis d'Auilleurs" have some heavier parts.

    The grandeur and ehterealness of this band is something unique. Some parts really remind me of the early Ulver, whilst the use of mellowtron in some parts remind of early prog bands.

    I love alcest so much. They're spiritually fulfilling. Also miyazaki is awesome and it's magical that alcest wrote a song about the little forest spirits from it.

      Kodama are spirits from the japanese folklore, not something invented by miyazaki (even though his rendition was a masterpiece).

    I used to listen to this a lot while in Public transport a few years ago. Such a beautiful album. Can't believe i 'forgot' about this.

    i think of this song as quietly brilliant there is structure but it feels effortless and smooth with how good it is as if they composed and just let it flow without predetermined buildup or climax kind of like life in its purest form

    Wonderful vocals by Sylvaine singer there, in a short part, I wish I could hear her voice more.
    Amazing song and vocals by Neige, nice improvisation, the sound and atmosphere fits perfect to the art direction.

      Was lucky to see them last year at Rockharz Open Air. They played as the very last band, most people allready left, but still it was one of the best concerts I haver ever seen.

    4:10-5:10 is to me the perfect representation of divinity in sonic form. Perfection is unachievable but this is as close as anyone will ever get musically. Purely cathartic

    Did you ever read the Divine Comedy? I guess the sensation that Dante tries to explain when he says he had experience of God must be very close to the one I feel when that guitar enters in the middle of the seventh minute. Absolute masterpiece!

    I saw them on June 30 at a city nearby... Man, it was fabulous! Simply when they start the show, it seemed that all the Universe just stopped and there was no time or place, but only that moment.
    When they played that very riff at 4:11 to 5:09, I felt my soul practically leaving my body! HAHAHA.
