      Nah, he just has to acknowledge the FACT that from here on out of he ever steals a base when Yadi is behind the plate it is because Yadi LET him steal it.

      Seriously tho. The finger wag was lame AF, you barely made it back to first after being almost thrown down by an aging catcher after a pitch....not a time to be showing out. Pro tip, before you think about stealing on a catcher, do a quick search on how many golden gloves they have.

    • @jesseguerra1442

      That’s a classic case of pure ego. You don’t do that to Molina.

    • @adameves5970
      @adameves5970 2 роки тому +45

      What do you mean a quick search?
      What you REALLY mean is just LOOK at who the catcher is.
      I know all you millennial kids can't retain any information, but the solution isn't to search it. Relying on constant searches to know ANYTHING is the cause of you kids knowing NOTHING.
      Why in the world would someone need to do a quick search on Yadi Molina? Baseball is their JOB. There's no way they don't know who he is or anything about him.

    I attended the Cardinals Winter Warm Up a handful of times from 2004-2012 where people pay to purchase a spot in line for an autograph. I distinctly remember Yadier being the player who sat and signed autographs the longest. He didn’t speak almost any English back then but he was jumping up from the table, hugging fans and posing with little kids next to the table acting like he was catching for them after the Cardinals had just won the World Series. He went back and forth with my dad for a second and shared some laughs. Great guy.

      Agreed. 9 years almost and I love messing with base runners so much. I did something similar to this with a runner. She kept inching off the bag so I give signal to throw back to first. She slides back and safe. Next pitch she inches even further out and I know with my pitcher where I put my mitt is where the ball will go. So I signal a fast curve ball to the outside.
      Girl takes off and my pitcher just hits the deck cause she knows what's coming. The girl was out by a solid 5 steps.. 3rd out of the 9th inning and we are done. Won 6-0. The batter wouldn't look at me and the runner stared at my pitcher till I looked her dead in the eye and she ran back to the dug out.

      I'm a little bummed because I feel like I grew up when Yadi grew up as he's not much older than me. I was playing HS ball the year he got called up at 21. I remember the pudgy kid with a baby face who played great defense but couldn't really hit. Then he learned how to hit, won a lot of gold gloves and threw out alot of base runners, and always stood up for his teammates and the organization. Guys like that are once in a life time players.
      He had this command presence, and you felt it when he was behind the plate. There will never be another Yadi in my lifetime, maybe ever. I'm bummed because I'm not even 40 yet, and I now have to compare every catcher to Yadi the rest of my life, and it's impossible. He's easily one of the all-time greatest defensive catchers ever. And it's not up for debate. He'll be in the Hall of Fame.
