New subscriber:) Really enjoyed your video. I am an intermediate crocheter and understood your yarn, hook and pattern adjustments and could visualize what I could do, especially with the hats. Also appreciated that you tried on the hats to show us. The only other person I have ever seen wearing a hat she made is Crystal from Bag O'Day Crochet. I checked my stash and have Ice Cream Roving yarn. Will try that today. Will check out the Facets (great colors) next time I go to Michael's. Your video made my day😊
Margaret, I'm smiling so big right now!! Thank you for sharing your last line!! That makes me so happy!! Let us know how it goes with your Ice Cream yarn. I'd love to hear about that!! Welcome!! And Thank you so much!!!
That wooden hook from your mother is absolutely intriguing! It looks like the head is tapered, rather than inline. Is that what I'm seeing? Any idea where those hooks originated - maker, timeframe, etc.? I always see inline wooden hooks, and this may be the first time I've seen wooden tapered!
I did a quick search and of course there are some similar sets out there. But I know Mom's had a few years on them already when I received them 15 years ago. Online, the heads don't look consistent in the point at the tip, but Mom's stab through really well. I love that mine all have a different handle design, where the sets online only change at the hook end. And the size being scratched into the hooks with a dremel tool or something really gives them a handmade feel, while the size of hook on the sets online are machine punched, obviously. Nothing is made the way it used to be, so I love having a unique, sturdy, beautiful set aside from the fact that they were Mom's. You always give me things to ponder, and I love that about you!! Thanks, Mary!
I love that yarn ... the Landscapes from Lion Brand one. I've picked it up a few times and tried to "be good" and put it back, but I think next time I'm gonna bring some home with me. Also the first hat pattern and color looked really good on you... I think it was called Meadow?

Hi Christine! I was surprised I liked this color. I don't think I would have ever bought it on my own. Treat yourself to the Landscapes!! Thanks!
