Whats weird to me is how that amazing melody on the horns at 03:54 isnt even a full track or on the ost, even though it's the most distinct and epic orchestral section in the whole game. I honestly thought it was one of the main themes or something because of how particular and dynamic the melody is. Its one of the most memorable horn sections I've ever heard in a game, even better than Elden Rings menu theme and I really wish they would have expanded on it.

I was litteraly clapping in front of my computer for that scene! The fact that my choices led to Shadowheart making the choice without me interfering made it all the sweetest. You may technically be the main character of the game, but this made me feel like a secondary one in Shadowheart's story (in a good way). Every choice I made regarding her faith, I opted to not be judgemental, but to subtly question the way Shar treats her followers. I managed to never do so in a way that would make Shadowheart disapprove (unlocking the romance at a time I later learned was considered very early without guides). When she threw the spear into the void, it truly felt like it was HER choice alone, Tav only having been a passive influence. To get that epic scene with that glorious music as a reward was glorious! Goosebumps!
When I first entered the shadow cursed lands, my first thought was “Wow if depression and mental health problems had a visual representation this would be it” and then when I watched this scene from 3:18 I actually shed a tear
Seriously though. Act 2 is a masterpiece of game design. It conveys that feeling of corruption and hopelessness (for the good guys) so perfectly. And the fact that you can infiltrate the cult’s upper ranks and experience their evilness firsthand is amazing.
This music gives me goosebumps. Epic scene, epic music.
During the cutscene half of the terrain could not load in time as usual so it was a beautiful cutscene of nothingness 😂 So glad that someone uploaded it

This scene made me well up with tears. The instrumentals, her transformation to that of a beautiful celestial was just too much for my heart. Shadowheart.. Shart got shoved into a chasm immediately, no question.
She'll actually spare Aylin if you trust her, unless there's been some combination of her not liking you and you making "evil" choices.

I was so pissed when I realised that freeing Aylin on it’s own isn’t enough to lift the shadow curse. Game was deadass like ‘you could have lifted it if you tried’ and I’m like ‘BITCH I FREED AYLIN WYDM I COULD HAVE LIFTED IT?’

You need to help Thaniel, the spirit of the land in order to remove the curse
@@TheHAZMAT221 which is impossible without Halsin. so much bullshit, Nightsong should've done it. The Thaniel quest shouldve done it earlier if you finished it.
@@TheVenomousBeetle I had strong party composition and was switching exhausted party members for the fresh ones from camp to minimize long rests. I defended the grove and then went to complete githyanki monastery. Missed thiefling party, missed Halsin recruitment when I arrived in the new area. I swallowed my pride and reloaded save from 7 (!) hours earlier. Just reload and do the Thaniel questline, act 2 is really short if you know what to do and where to go ;) (hint: firewall and insect swarm can rotflstomp a certain Halsin quest :P )
I’m sure she’ll come back to mop it up, it won’t heal as nicely as Halsin could do as a druid but it’s Shar’s curse, Selune will clear it eventually.
Godsdammit i hope they add Aasimar as a playable race, i so want to play my avenging angel.

My wife was watching me play. Got down in here and decided not to try an push Shadowheart either way. She made her own choices and throw the spear aside. This was a very well done moment. Larian studios knocked it out of the park.
This scene lives rent free in my head. I reloaded the save to watch this over and over, I felt like a kid again playing lion king on repeat, trying to grasp its meaning and symbolism. The words, the song, the imagery… It’s deeply reverent, epic, mystical. Just wow.
this is one of the best gaming moments of all time.
Played this moment for the first time and have been saying this to people all day. It will stick with me forever

I guess beeing tortured and used as a damage spunge for over one hundred years does that to a person.

This ended so poorly for me.
I failed to realize a big battle would trigger at Moonrise after this.
So I instead attempted to infiltrate the tower from below.
for a unknown reason to me, everyone inside was immediately hostile to me.
Seeing no other way I started fighting my way up, only to notice the cult was also fighting against NPC's instead of just me.
I had to take a breather inbetween as my health and resources got low.
During the break, I noticed the fighting had stopped.
I enter the entrance hall with only 5 enemies left, and the floor littered with Tiefling and First corpses, along with Jaheira.
They were fighting from the main entrance and clearly did not have the power to fight this thing without the player aiding them.
That one attempt at being sneaky and smart ended up costing most of the Tiefling lives I saved in the Grove, as well as Jaheira and a large amount of Flaming Fists.
How could the tieflings be alive? I found them dead on the road
@@andersm20 Some of them die automatically there no matter what you do, but a good chunk of them end up surviving and take refuge at the last light inn.
Fun fact you could quickly dash towards the stairs and avoid that fight you will be flanking the tiefling enemies
@sadsworth4605 That was the intent.
But I already burned through most my recources and you cant take a long rest there.
So I was forced to heal up my party in between fights with my pile of potions I never used.
NPC fights keep going during that, so by the time I fot there, only one NPC Tiefling was left.
Ye, this is the most brutal stretch of the game resource-wise. U basically cannot long-rest from the moment u free Night Song, or u'll lose most of the Last Light NPCs. I don't even know if u can even go back to camp to switch out for fresh characters. At Grymforge, the moment u go to camp, Nere will die and u'll fail the save the gnomes quest, so I was afraid something similar would happen.

after going through the under dark and shadow lands, getting this scean with having not used shadow heart much was both a relief first time around and a renewal of hope, as im new to this game style and was both feeling unsure about everything i was doing. This was just inspirational

This lady is either a lesser Celestial, or a Protector Aasimar. Either way, this was an awesome transformation.
She's a Deva. Not just a Lesser Celestial :P In fact from her appearance, I think she's a Movanic Deva

This scene is so great and emotional. Especially after the hard fight against Baltazar. It was my first time playing a D&D Game and overall round based. Now it's easy 😂

Well, why not to kill Baltazar in his chamber, it is easier. Plus when you visit this place, you have 2 lvl advantage over him
@@lord_azatoth There is another way if you forgot to do that. Run for the middle of the place (near Aylin basically) with your melee fighters. Balthazar will flee from them and usually end up near the edge. You then go with your strongest melee fighter and push him off. You don't get his loot, but his loot sucks anyway so...
Yeah, I didn't have Halsin to do the quest and as you leave the area your character remarks that they "could possibly have cured it if they tried" or something to that effect.
I got that too. Do you need to have Halsin alive to cure the place ? I searched everywhere in the area but couldn't find a way
@@Trackou Yeah I looked around and it's pretty heavily suggested that Halsin is necessary to fix the curse. I think you have to do the quest with the sleeping guy because at some point he asks for halsin and if you don't have halsin he just cries until act 3
@@imnotme1657 Halsin is there to help et the spirit of the forest, you'll have to look around for the lute that can wake the sleeping man.
@@gunshotslinger yeah I woke him up. he starts crying about his friend the spirit. asks for halsin. if you don't have halsin he just keeps on crying and you can't advance the quest. he doesn't even have choices
You need to have recruited Halsin a progress his quest a bit. In the Last light inn, you find a sick boy. You learn that the boy is spirit of the Curselands but he is corrupted. You need to find the other half of the boy, his newly created brother and merge them together. If you do this and free Nightsong, the lands will heal. @@Trackou
It's crazy how beautiful and fluid these cutscenes are when they aren't jankily playing at 0.25 speed because of all the lag, haha.

I played through act 2 twice because of this scene. My heart overflows and I cry a little every time. I don’t know why it does things to me!

Poor shadowheart reached this moment all bruised up. In my playthrough, she's my dedicated healer, so she's always inside the sanctuary spell, barely ever harmed. She also had shar's spear, so when nightsong asked shadowheart to choose, she threw the spear. It made the scene much more like a turning point than shown here. Epic moment either way 🍻

@@michaelharmon8960There’s another side quest to fix the area fully, Aylin does help out though. On her own she can’t fix all of the shadow curse unfortunately
@@yellowbeard1What other sidequest? I failed to find any, that lifts the curse - I got the ”how sad it couldn’t be lifted” end. And you are right, this video is incorrectly named, Nightsong does not lift any curse.

As much as I love this scene, I got to this part before going to Moonrise Towers and ended up skipping a lot of content, so it's very bittersweet to me

This scene is very awesome, but in my playthrough everyone at the inn died which made it extremely bitter sweet. . .
Thankfully, Jaheira lived and her and minsc became must takes due to their not constantly hitting on my paladin because of his oh so charismatic booty.
You have to initiate the fight immediately with your highest initiative/dex party member as soon as you finish talking with jaheera on the bridge.
Problem is the mages casting aoe spells like hunger of hadar and fireball at the entrance choke point.
Initiate the fight, with invisible or stealthy character for additional surprise if possible.
On my second playthrough I cleared the ground floor without losing a single harper afterwards
Same here. Everyone at the inn died for me, including the druid. I was only able to survive by using the inn as a fort, giving all the combatants a narrow point of entry, which had grease floor and flying daggers from Gale. My avatar is a dex fighter/archer and he used the top of the in to run in and out and shoot. That fight would have been impossible for me without such a tactic

Wait, why did they die? If Isobel is holding the protection above the Inn? When I visited the Inn after freeing her, I did not go deep though.. I just met Isobel, standing near bridge and telling me to go to the Moonrise Tower for Keterik's head

I really love this scene but in the back of my mind I kept thinking 'sailor moon! Magical girl transformation!' And it ruined the experience for me 😢

Best moment in the game. I wanted to romance the Nightsong. Strangely in act 3 she barely figures which to me is at odds with the first 2 acts. It's like the developers lost interest in her story. Shame. It could have and should have been so much more epic with her at your side. Sure you can call on her at the end but there is no real interaction between you and her. A huge mistake in my opinion.

@@crazyelf1 that happens a lot in this game unfortunately. motifs not being part of the soundtrack. like ketheric thorm's motif that plays when you enter the goblin camp and when ketheric says "kill the goblins too"

I killed her and felt like shit afterwards. Didn't think I would murder all harpers and flaming fists, together with emotionally destroying Kethric after essentially killing his daughter for whom he had sacrificed himself... All for a couple weapons and armor sets. Unfortunate.
It's such a great moment. If only the actress didn't underact the transformation.

Her presence alone causes the curse to recoil. She could probably end it in time being Selune’s sword and all that, but Halsin healed the land.
