My Tiger wound up with all kinds of new metal suspension and ground engagement (tracks, wheels, torsion bars, bearings) and a full on photo etch detail set. All the fenders are sheet metal and are bolted on with scale nuts and bolts. most of the surface details are enhanced or replaced with metal parts. Headlights are operational. The paint is 4 layers deep with red primer at base. The tank is filled with very heavy lead acid batteries and the very strong suspension gives exceptional live suspension motion and and the gravitas of great mass. It weighs 14 pounds. Germany is a hotbed of modifications for RC tanks.
I've built the Tiger I and the King Tiger. The only gripe I have is they both run very scale like in forward but reverse is way too fast. Haven't been able to tone that down in either one of them.
I'm trying to decide between the Tiger I and the King Tiger. They both seems to have the same functionality and sound effects, so I can't decide! Any preference? And why?
@@jasona9393 They’re both great kits and and I think you’ll be happy with either one of them. The King Tiger is slightly larger and does utilize 2 battery packs for longer running times. My King Tiger was actually a static display kit with the Porsche-style turret but I was able to retrofit it to a fully functional tank. Whichever Tiger you go with, I would recommend painting and weathering as you build as opposed to after it’s built (learned that the hard way with the Tiger I).
Hello RC Tanker. I once bought a Tamiya Tiger 1 almost finished without paint but I didn't like it much, good deal and it went right away. I was very curious about the realisation of the Bovington original. But I was a bit disappointed. If you have the chance to build an actual example, then you should do it, especially because the Bovie is very well documented. The African camouflage alone, boldly applied in a silky gloss in the museum, would be an eye-catcher. Well, maybe some other time. Please don't be angry.
Lovely job. Reminds me of the real thing I saw at Bovington a few years ago. Just wish theyd slow down the motors as that reverse is way too fast and more like an RC car. Lovely kit though well worth the dosh.
I have this same tank..I looked on ebay for the transmitter with no luck. Do you know where I can get one with the matching receiver? Or is there another transmitter out there that will work?
What size motors are in the tiger 1tank mine should be arriving in a week or so are those motors a 360 or 370 motors and can a 7 cell batteries be used or just a 6 cell
Question is any glue on the wheels i noticed that the end fall please do the video on the wheels it’s very confusing for a beginner like me please and thank you
Hi there, you did a real nice build looks great . thanks for showing this video you did.i made a 1/35 scale Tamiya Tiger 1 Model it's on You Tube but thus is another level.i can see you put a lot of hard work into it.i feel your client will be very happy :-).
Didn't know Tamiya made an actual Remote to go with their Models despite having 3 ( King Tiger, Flakpanzer Gepard & Leopard 2A6 ) of them myself... Always been using an off the shelf one my 16-32CH Capable FrSky Horus X12S. Kinda wish Tamiya would a) stop using that vintage style Trimmer Setup to access more than 4 Functions on a 4CH Setup by simply adopting something like an 8-12CH Setup, ideally via S-BUS, and b) release some sort of modernized universal DMD/MF Controller Unit compatible with all the previous models including all the new tech like the Turret / Cannon Stabilizer from their Abrams M1A2 has. My Leopard 2A6 ( actually now a Leopard 2A7+ ) has neither of them built-in in and only one of them is optionally available as a first-party addon and the other only available as an uncomfortably pricy third-party one >_>
Hi, I have the kit the servo box for running the tank does that work on all the Tamiya R/C tanks about how much would I be looking at for the price!? Thanks well done video.
Hi watched your build I have never brought one to build so this is my first one my question is can you get the battery's out to change and charge them thanks sorry it's my first build.
My dream job building tanks and Tamiya stuff like this, how do I get into that?! I have TONS of experience with RC and model making in general, very niche market building things for paying customers though I guess.
I heard you say you did this for a client and enjoy doing this sort stuff. I am currently looking for a pro build/paint. As want find a unique gift. Where about in AU are you. I'm in Melbourne or do you have a website.??🙂
+Leslie Kwok hello Leslie, I am in Sydney. This was a customer who purchased it from my friend who owns crazyhobbies. Check them out, they have a great website with awesome range and ship Australia wide.
I looked for two hours for that and I can’t find it. I looked on the first cite and I couldn’t find it, I have made around 25 models already, I want a little challenge with a rc model.
The only thing that looks good on that Tiger I, is the gap between the Turret and the Deck, which is very noticeable on the Heng Long and Taigen Tiger I and that's only because the turret ring is Offset Forward, it's not actually Centered as it should be like that on the Tamiya Tiger I. Other than what I posted above, that Tamiya Tiger I does look good, I like that Fresh Off of the Production Line look, and btw, if the owner or anyone wants to make their Tamiya Tiger I to look more like Tiger 131, the Gun Mantlet needs to be replaced and the Headlights removed (what I'm in the process of doing to my Taigen Tiger I).
Both the Heng Long and Taigen Tiger I are actually based on the Tamiya Tiger I with a couple of exceptions. As for painting and what not, it's not that hard to do, it takes patience and practice to get what you want on your Tiger I.

You have to buy the gear reduction gearboxes

@@genelegate1308 I really appreciate this reply, thank you so much! That nails it for me: Bigger kit, twin battery!
@@genelegate1308 So kind of you to reply and let me know, thank you very much!
Wow that is such a beautiful job. I have never seen a better model tank.
Thanks mate
Again, what a great video series and a very detailed build and description. Thanks again.
Glad you enjoyed it

To each their own
Lovely Tiger 1 tank
The way the main gun fires is awesome!
+Jack Keville yeah, looks and sounds great
Very nice build and demo!! Cheers!
+Scale Model Kit Review thanks. Glad you liked it
Superb model, but it desperately needs gearing down! Tamiya should be doing this at the factory , everything is moving way to quickly imho.
+e575fho yep you have to control it with your fingers :)
e575fho it's just the "sport edition" of the tiger
Stew JW thats true. you could also add the other thing.... i havent flown aircraft in such a long time that i forgot lol!
is it called rate?
Lovely work. Have a KV-1, the Tiger is on my list. Hopefully in 2017.
+Theibault awesome, the KV1 is one formidable beast :)
RC Tanks & Trucks 24/7 It's been a great tank.

This was not my tank. The owner wanted to paint it. It is just a toy man. No big deal.
@@RCTanksTrucks247 oh okay, i did not realize that. Customers will is our law, in deed.

Not sure but any other 6 to 8 channel should work
Simple and perfect. great vid!

Are all the hatches opening?
No, not all unfortunately
Hi looks great!! Tiger 131 does actually have a very faint green Camo. Are you going to replicate that as well?
Cool Very nice video Gretings Denamrk :0)

Lovely detail...but it moves like a tank that weighs 60 ounces...not 60 tons
hi,from australia how much is it for the build tank? please let me know thanks...
Dont know, you have to build it yourself
Can you do tiger 131
Hi watched your build I have never brought one to build so this is my first one my question is can you get the battery's out to change and charge them thanks sorry it's my first build.
Yeah you need to lift off the turret and get it. Or you could leave it in there and charge it
@@RCTanksTrucks247 ok thank you also is there room for a smoke machine in there.
do you know by any chance what kind of servos/mtors does it use for the turret and cannon movement?
Where do you get your tanks from? Somewhere in Oz?
Is it nesseccery to take the turret out when painting the tank?
Not really
What is the hull length including exhaust pipes (not including main gun)?
Where and how much did you bought that?

Hello, is this product available in Amazon/Ebay at a fair price?
It's a Tamiya kit so it should be. Your local hobby store might have it too.
Okay, thank you. +I live in Panama and there are no stores available in my zone :P. That's why Im asking about this product in online stores.
that's the way it always goes for people like us who don't have a lot of money to spend but it would sure be fun to own one
