It was better than many others I saw. I liked the one where they met Yaz’s grandma in the past too. It was probably the best in my opinion.
I appreciate Kablam for the villains plan (using nerve gas in bubble wrap seemed genius to me), it's just the 40 minutes getting to the villains that are so painful
The Wedding of River Song, The Caretaker, Rings of Akhaten, Closing Time (the ending is naff, but the rest is decent), The Lie of the Land, Curse of the Black Spot wouldn't be on my bottom 20 episodes list. Gonna go out on a limb and say that The Long Game doesn't belong here either (the Aliens of London 2-parter does, imo). It's not amazing, but I like that when paired with Captain Jack's arrival, it works to show you how the Doctor's morality works. Adam starts as a seemingly ok guy, but then makes selfish decisions, and gets booted out of the Tardis. Captain Jack starts off as a conman who nearly ends the world by accident, but because he makes selfless decisions, the Doctor lets him join the team.
How is "Empire of Death" on this list? Sure it fell flat on some of the previously established mystery boxes, but that is a problem with the season, in my opinion, not the episode. But it definitely wasn't "one of the 20 worst episodes of (modern?) Doctor Who" bad. As other commenters pointed out: Even "Love and Monsters" is missing.
It's on the list because it literally makes no sense. It's just a series of events with no logic stringing them together. The Doctor is a wizard who can do anything, including taking a piece of glass and turning it into a computer that shows you videos from the future - if it likes you. If you're a fan of stories making sense, this is the most offensive episode ever.
The whole list is really weird, there are some of the worst episodes from the show, but a lot of them are "okay at best", and is not like it was taken from sites from IMDb or public charts
There are some episodes that are just objectively bad. The Idiot's Lantern ends with Rose encourging a minor to give his verbally abusive father another chance, before said father has even had time to do any soul searching.
While I appreciate the effort you put into your video, I have to respectfully disagree with several points you made. It seems like there were significant gaps in the logic, particularly when it came to The Rings of Akhaten, the Lie of the land and journey to the centre of the tardis which I believe was misrepresented and lacked the necessary context to be accurate. The conclusions you drew from that point seemed to rely heavily on assumptions rather than solid evidence, and as a result, I think they fell short of painting a full or accurate picture. I understand that differing perspectives are important, but in this case, I think your argument would benefit from revisiting the data and reevaluating some of the key premises. It's not just that I disagree; it's that I find some of your conclusions problematic because they seem to overlook critical details that are central to the issue. I'm more than willing to discuss this further, as I think addressing these points is important for a clearer understanding overall. I have to ask-was it your idea of a joke to make such outrageous points? Because honestly, some of what you said seemed so out of touch with reality that it’s hard to believe you were serious. If you were trying to be provocative, you certainly succeeded, but if these were meant to be genuine arguments, I’m struggling to see how they hold up. The way you presented them almost seemed exaggerated to the point of absurdity, which makes me wonder if this was more of a satirical take than a real stance.
honestly i agree 100%. i don’t think i’ve ever felt more angered at a video than this, it kind of made me shocked that something online was able to draw this from me. it HAS to be some satirical joke, otherwise this channel is laughable
A lot of these episodes happened at key moments in Dr Who. When it needed strong episodes it delivered some really weak ones. Kill the moon for me is one of the worst, It still remains the only episode I turned off before It finished. Also when a commercial Channel was running Dr who Remember how after MS left they stopped showing the PC episodes ? Space Babies was terrible, It needed a stonker of opener we didn't get it
I hated Kill the Moon as well. The premise was bad and made no sense. The Doctor was an asshole. It was one of the few times I've hated The Doctor for something he did. Most of the time I at least understand what he does even if I don't agree with it.
@@xenosaga8436 TL;DR: It just, it's a bad episode, with bad plotlines and bad moments, that were turned into good moments later on in the show as we see 12 grow as a character. I agree. That episode is still very hard to watch for me, but I like it. I like the reveal that Courtney will become Prime Minister, because it shows that even someone like her who doesn't do very well in school and doesn't think very highly of herself can still be an important figure in history. It's reminiscent of when the doctor said "900 years of spacetime travel and I've never met someone that wasn't important". But, it still falls flat. The whole "the moon is an egg" plotline is just kinda dumb, and the whole anti abortion message is really just awkward since it didn't age well, especially with the events of Roe v Wade. But I do like that the fact that the doctor left was explained in the next episode, 'The Mummy on the Orient Express'. He said that he said he was helping. That he was leaving it up to Clara and Courtney to decide because they were the humans and he had no right to interfere in something that had nothing to do with him. And then this is brought back up later in the Zygon Invasion/Inversion when he needs to prevent the civil far between the Zygons.

I appreciate Kablam for the villains plan (using nerve gas in bubble wrap seemed genius to me), it's just the 40 minutes getting to the villains that are so painful
I quite liked Nightmares in Silver tbh
Definitely gotta eat around the crust to enjoy it though
I loved it on first watch I didn’t find anything bad with it
Arachnids in the UK, The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe, Love and Monsters, Can you hear me, Daleks in Manhattan?
gotta agree with Ellie here, the wedding of River Song is FANTASTIC, just.... fantastic
Hi Nine!
the curse of the black spot is my favorite
They both should be. Empires of Death because it was the finale which is meant to be the series arc payoff. It was abysmal in every way.
Sorry I disagree, The Rings of Akhaten is amazing
It was the episode that turned me into a Whovian
I like The Wedding of River Song.
I dont think there are bad episodes or doctor who, some i don't like? Perhaps. But something i dont love? Never
There are some episodes that are just objectively bad.
How did the kill the moon and love and monster not make it on here!
My grandkids loved Space Babies. It was their first Doctor Who episode. They are now Whovians, I'm so proud.
A lot of these episodes happened at key moments in Dr Who.
When it needed strong episodes it delivered some really weak ones.
Kill the moon for me is one of the worst, It still remains the only episode
I turned off before It finished. Also when a commercial Channel was running Dr who
Remember how after MS left they stopped showing the PC episodes ?
Space Babies was terrible, It needed a stonker of opener we didn't get it
Said no-one with a brain ever.
I hated Kill the Moon as well. The premise was bad and made no sense. The Doctor was an asshole. It was one of the few times I've hated The Doctor for something he did. Most of the time I at least understand what he does even if I don't agree with it.

TL;DR: It just, it's a bad episode, with bad plotlines and bad moments, that were turned into good moments later on in the show as we see 12 grow as a character.
How did The timeless child not make this list....??
I was surprised Kerblam wasnt in that list
I thought Kerblam was really good
@@saadyahschick7560 Ugh, it's bad. Yet another episode where 13 commits mass murder and faces no consequences. She knows the AI is sentient yet allows the factory of robots to be blown up as well as the human guy to also blow up. Just awful writing.
Waitwaitwait...no Kill The Moon? I took it as a given that that would be #1.
I get to number 3 and think "Well, obviously Kill the Moon will be number one". Get to number 1 and WHAT THE . . .
I think Planet of the dead is Not even that bad. Its a fun little adventure
There's definitely a lot worse!
Closing Time is wonderful. Worst New Who episode is unambiguously Kill the Moon. Nightmare in Silver, Wedding of River Song and Curse of the Black Spot are fine! Where's Robot of Sherwood or any of the unending stream of mediocrity poor Jodie Whittaker was subjected to??
Where are the braincells that should be in your head stopping you believing such nonsense‽
I’m sorry, I love this channel, but who made this list? Love & monsters and idiots lantern not being on here is absolutely ridiculous. Sleep no more not being on here is absolutely ridiculous.

Nightmare in Silver has been a favorite on every watch through for me. None of those criticisms ever landed with me 😅
I wasn’t fond of the kids, but I thought Matt acted his socks off.
Putting (/leaving) the kids in danger wasn’t good.
I reckon Rosa should have been top of the list. "White saviour complex" and Graham having to sit on the bus so there were no other seats was cringe-worthy to the max.
Wedding of river song and series 6 in general is brilliant. My fave series and while not my fave finale, it's still a banger
Her Speech to him about how everyone would come if he asked was powerful and sends shivers up my spine still
How are there 15 episodes that are worse than Space Babies? It is truly the worst piece of media I've ever watched.
I feel like saying these are "the worst" is a bit harsh. Also everyone has their own opinions about what they enjoy or dislike in Dr Who. There's definitely some on this list i agree with, but overall it feels too judgemental to me. Respect on Ellie defending the wedding of river song tho, i enjoyed that one too lol
Most of this list can be explained by "people don't understand nuance" and it's far more one individual's personal dislike list than an actual 'worst episodes ever' list.
I was expecting to see the Eye booger episode here. Series 9, Episode 9: 'Sleep No More'
This episode really felt like jumping the shark to me.
Yes! Can’t believe no one talks about how bad it is 😭
I'm a Sleep no more defender. That ending is on par with the ending of Blink in terms of scariness.
@@saadyahschick7560yeah it’s scary but it’s not a great episode although I still laugh at the furniture line at the beginning
Peter capaldi "The Doctor Falls is one of my favorites" Bill was a great companion too in my oppinion.
A LIST ON THE WORST DOCTOR WHO EPISODES?! WITHOUT LOVE AND MONSTERS! WHAT IS THIS MADNESS?!
I can't believe you left off that Tennant episode with the alien that was absorbing Doctor fans that ended with the girlfriend fused to a paver.
For me, the most surprising omission is "Kill the Moon". The writing in that episode was so poor that I stopped watching Doctor Who for a few years.

8:37 every episode in the monk series is great, I just don’t care for the mom conclusion.
Love the video, but im a bit disappointed theres arent any classic who mentions, i mean you said worse episodes 'ever'.
I picked that title nit... ;-P
The intro explains it's only talking about Nu Who
I mean this should serious just be a list of every Whitaker episode
notice how only one episode in this video features Amy and Rory. THE ELITE COMPANIONS
How dare you include New Earth, that traumatised me for years, super effective.
Another Who Culture video to improve my day :DD Definately a controversial one though for me
The rings of Akhaten had possibly one of the greatest speech in the shows history yet most of don't remember the rest of the episode 😂. So yea its strange having a great doctor who moment in an boring episode
Kill the moon should have been #1. It is the only episode I consider to be non cannon.
There are no non-canon episodes by definition.
@@DrWhoFanJ I see your point.
However if an episode can't get the basic points of science right it takes me out of the episode.

@@BrianDavidson-q1j A show about a time traveling police box that's bigger on the inside can't get the basic points of science right😮
Fantasy science when it is based on theoretical science is entertaining.
Ellie please fight the writers of the script or change a few spots next time, we won't tell anyone 😭
There was 1 good thing about fear her (10 carrying the Olympic torch)
don't forget Kel the council worker "YOU JUST TOOK A COUNCIL AXE , FROM A COUNCIL VAN, AND NOW YOU’RE DIGGING UP A COUNCIL ROAD, IM REPORTING YOU TO THE COUNCIL" i hope he makes a return one day
There's also a couple of fun moments between 10 and Rose. Plus the cat.
The stuff about the Olympic crowd disappearing and the Doctor popping up to carry the torch was what spoiled it for me. I liked the rest of it

20 worst doctor who episodes ever ❌
20 worst new who episodes ever ✔️
Imagine hating fast cyberman so much that you’d pretend nightmare in silver is the third worst episode of the last 20ish years
Not too mention genuine lack luster performance from 90% of the supporting cast with annoying child actors
STORMAGEDDON FOREVER
The Rings of Akhaten speech is enough to keep this episode off this list
No love and monsters.... It's great to see that people are realising the brilliance of the episode and, in a few years, will be in the top 20 best episodes
I watched it a few days ago, it seriously sucks
@@DittoGTI Said no-one with a brain ever.
Let's not push it either. The characters are nice and the plot is good, until the last 10 min which are cringely bad. Not enough to make the episode as bad as people claim it to be, but no hidden masterpiece either

In the Forest of the Night - the Doctor telling Clara that everyone will forget about it is THE most important and satirical part of the episode, I feel whoever wrote this missed the point.
