Nice great sword play! I’m curious, what weapons do you feel are a bad matchup for GS?
Blasters and Lance definitely. Greatsword struggles because of its matchups. It feels like every weapon you have to change your playstyle. For example: fighting axe in high diamond, it’s not good at all to approach it, and you kinda just want to bait out axe’s attacks and for katars you just have to predict if they’ll approach you with side light or dair and attack first. But blasters and Lance are in my opinion the hardest to fight.

Pretty much, yeah. Blasters are definitely a hassle to fight against since they tend to hover above your attacks, but I found that abusing g-cancels can scare them from doing so. It's funny seeing how they run around, trying to find some way to approach you, like headless chickens.

My left pinkie is on shift and that’s what I use to dash. I also have it binded to L but I use shift instead
I used to do that to but isn't it better with L
@@Showeradult12 yeah it's better with L but also Boomie uses shift to dodge, so it can be done at a pro level.
why are you not using optimal extended reads? you are good at reading, you can get more out of it
Yeah you’re right, I think I’ve just been playing it safe with the 3 hits because if you’re too slow on a 5 hit you get punished for it. But there’s definitely places I could’ve did more, I’ll work on that.

@@dogukanyilmaz99I'd avoid finishers altogether (unless you manage to catch them during a bridge attack. The finisher tends to be instant). Aerials and sigs are often the best way to finish an opponent.

Sure! I'm planning to make a video soon that'll give a bunch of tips on getting to diamond with greatsword. For now I can tell you to be aware of how your opponent dodges because usually until low diamond a lot of people have a bad habit of dodging the same way. So make sure you don't dodge the same way also.
