I love the effort you put into this video but there are a lot of incorrect solutions you're teaching that are extremely risky and could hurt a player's improvement. For example, 9:09 you mention ways to reset neutral from a disadvantage state. - Dash dodging can be an extremely risky way to cross up so I don't really recommend it unless you're Valhallan. - Jump - dodging is not the right answer and is an awful solution. You should never waste your dodge for no reason. ESPECIALLY in the air. The correct answer is empty hops (jump - fast falls) and focusing on your opponents reactable/unreactable zones. What I mean by this is jump around them to cross but don't stay too close to your opponent where you can't react to their attack (unreactable zone). You can also just jump in the air and weapon throw to land safe if you're high enough and play a large weapon. There is a lot of great stuff in this video but I hope those watching take everything with a grain of salt.
appreciate the time you took to comment this advice, getting out of the edge is something i did struggle with for a while so i didn't really know how to deal with it i forgot to mention that you only dodge like that if the opponent is rushing toward you and about to hit you, but yeah i guess empty hopping is better in that case.
The two charts explaining which options To use when attempting to break neutral and then for punishing is so helpful not a lot of creators specifically talk about this appreciate your effort keep it up! 🔥🔥
I have coached for years and I have disagreed with most coaching videos. I must say that this is the most brilliant and well-thought out video I have watched. I hope we could talk someday.
2:59 you actually described it pretty well. i was stuck at ~2100 elo for like 2 years because i literally did not know how to play neutral but once i figured it out ranked at that elo became the easiest thing ever and it felt SO good
One thing that NOBODY ever talks about (for players around 2100) is the people that just jump all around you. They space you with AIR. And their movement is so good that it’s hard to predict where they’ll be. I got better at seeing it just by having so many hours in the game, but it’s a serious topic that needs to be talked about. In fact, Yüz from the BCX tournament that you screen recorded is LITERALLY doing that. He spends MOST of his time in the air buzzing around Godly. But ur advice is to stay grounded. These airbenders literally bait you in the air so being grounded is hardly a defense to that play style: center stage or not. The defense to it is a more aggressive/pressure play style mixed with a bit of spacing near the end of their jump cycle. They spend a hell ton time in the air but if there’s platforms - pressure that platform space by acting like you’ll cover it and watch them hop around it or dodge around it then catch them there. But they instantly move when they hit the ground so you just have to commit. They are constantly moving. Provide them a free space to land then attack that space. I know bro said some of those things in the guide but it didn’t apply to this specific super speed airbender players. It’s so hard to explain but this is just a comment and not a guide. People need to talk about the airbenders
i will keep this in mind, infact i might make a guide about it in the future however i just wanna let you know that you can easily counter aerial players once you understand their patterns and use "anti-air" moves such as axe dlight, axe nair, spear dlight, bow nlight, etc but the problem here is that this video is about neutral and i had to go about EVERY SITUATION fast to not make the video 5hours long, thats why it may lack a bit of guidance since every topic can be way more deeper
@@Zenexasba yeah this was a separate topic but I believe it’s the next hard-stuck wall to overcome. Also the anti-air could work but they know how to bait it while in the air. The timing is the most important thing while also studying how they buzz around you. Also important to note that if they feel they can’t bait u in their floating cycle they will somehow float away from you in the end of it: then turn around and punish you trying to chase them as they float away. It’s very annoying and only can be countered by just fighting enough of them to just feel that situation with ur senses.
Your videos are actually getting better and better,I will not be surprised if you actually become a pro soon or/ also your channel blowing up. Good shi man, looking forward to anything you make
I watched this video, then i went to play ranked. I could visualise who had advantage, it felt like I was seeing the evaluation on chess. I won 9/14 games now I am 1828 elo. 10/10 Video.
I absolutly thank you for making this, I found out about controlling neutral without even knowing that's why i felt I always had a slight leg up, in a lot of fights. Now that I know it's actually a component of the gameplay.. it's only gonna get exciting form here.
I was hard stuck mid gold 1600, 4 days after this tutorial I got 1800 ON ACIDENT I didnt realise I was the highest elo I've ever been until my friend asked really surprised when did I get so much elo on 1v1, thank you now all I gotta do is learn more other things like movement and I think I can get even better with out this tutorial I would still be gold, idk how is this working so well on me

Wanted to say thank you for the guides you have been putting out. There's a lot of things you talked about that should have been obvious to me but I just never really thought about until I saw it mentioned. My gameplay has improved quite a lot from watching you and I wanted to say great job and keep up the good work
ok ok this vid was kinda hard to watch because it was so detailed and one sure cant remember everything but some things actually helped me right away. i started playing right after watching the vid and immediately thought about the last third of the vid and i started doing things a lil different right away. it rly helps seeing the game from another, more technical point of view. thanks alot
Very good video! Impressive that you managed to figure out so much about the important stuff while not even being a top player, although I'd say wasting a dodge just to get back to stage is very risky and should most times be used only for reacting and baiting something out of your opponent so you can get back to stage
I’ve been on a similar journey, hardstuck to now recently peaking. Been playing since 2018. I can vouch 100% this guy knows his shit… Excellent video 🖤 Like Sub and Notif
First and foremost, thank you for making this video not be a live commentary guide. The structure, edit, graphs and overall really help paint a mental image of what you gotta do to improve. It is commendable both the effort put here and how you went out your way to share knowledge to people to improve. That's very sweet imo. But the good part of this video doesn't end there. You know how people seek a technique or knowledge that will suddenly make you better? This video was it for me, as absurd as it sounds. Mind you, I'm a casual player, I just wanna get better because that's part of how I have fun. I watched half this video (about 16 minutes) and saved to continue later. Just from focusing on what you taught on those 16 minutes, my gameplay has changed a lot. I've played for sooo long and sometimes I felt stuck, unable to improve. I just shrugged and accepted that's just life. "I'm a casual after all, I just hit my ceiling". I found this video when looking for cannon combos, and man, I don't think you can fathom how dramatic of a difference it made for me. I swear this isn't unwaranted praise or adulation. Even matches I lose I still manage to be quite the challenge to put down now; heck I'm even managing to be trouble to diamond players now. I compare my replays from before and after learning about this video and it feels like I unlocked ultra-instinct or some shit. An understandable guide to neutral for new players and players who are trying to improve. The chart was very good to give a basic understanding on disadvantage and advantage state. Its different for every weapon and scenario, since in some cases, being on the edge doesn’t necessarily mean youre in disadvantage. Wish you went more in depth with that part, but good guide overall.

Man i feel stupid after a couple of minutes in the video. I reached my peak a month or so ago (1920), then 1 day i plyed a bunch of times then i went back to 1700 i felt bad and washed. When you pointed out to fix neutral i remembered how i got to my peak was playing neutral as best as i can. Thank you for pointing it out man.❤
For the high punishing tools chart is there one for unarmed for the rare situations that youre unarmed and can get the kill or if youre someone like me who mains unarmed

Just a thing that maybe holding you is your mentality here, if your movements are good you wouldn’t be gold and if other players says that your plat that doesn’t make you plat, i say this because i had this problem too, and so many golds do the same thing as well The only thing that dictates your level is your elo because if you were better you would’ve been already higher elo, the reason im saying this is because this will hold you back the most, thinking that you are better or higher than your actual elo and the players in your elo, you need to know and accept your REAL level and skill because from there you get to have the real starting point and knows exactly where to go. I’m not saying this in a hateful way its just a mistake I’ve been through and if you don’t fix this mentality now you will stay stuck forever until you change it
Yea that makes sense, that prolly explains why i get so angry when I lose. Another thing I find myself doing is blaming my own mistakes on the game. Thanks for the advice!@@Zenexasba
I assume the coaching costs something but I feel as though I'm doing all this but there's something I'm missing. I already am working on keeping my cool but its tough when you lose 3 games in a row some days. Sometimes it feels like the game is punishing me by throwing difficult opponents at me. I'm currently 1791 but my peak is 1834 and I want to get higher.
Analyse your own replays, it's the most important step in learning what your weaknesses are, of course no one has mastered everything completely, otherwise they'd have a 100% win rate. Start with why you lose your stock, is it a gimp or sig or attack or even a SD, then try to stop placing yourself in a position to be killed that way more often. Do the same analysis for attacks and then finally move on to what Zenexasba talked about which is advantage and disadvantage states. Do you often put yourself at a disadvantage by running to the edge, jumping too high and not fast falling, going offstage, burning your dodge, etc. from here you can identify what habits to work on. For myself I have a bunch, like weapon throwing a lot in neutral which my opponent often adapts to. Using my chase dodge after an attack. Playing too floaty and jumping when pressured. It gets easier to notice your bad habits like this and you're able to change them. Even mid match now I notice myself playing differently and mixing up more options.
@@Zenexasba Idk if you'll respond to this but I've recently hit diamond in S30 and in S31 the game is harder to rank up yes.. but I'm constantly being humiliated and losing more than winning and it feels as though the game hates me in a way because its constantly matching me up against people 40 or 60 Elo or more, ahead of me. It's really difficult to keep my composer when I'm losing 3 games in a row almost daily and I'm still trying to stop talking and lock in but I can't usually adapt in time to defeat my opponents. Ik its high plat but it really feels like the game is punishing me, I also re-watched your other video and I'll try to shut the excuses down but is there any small advice you or other comments can give me?
I'm struggling so hard to put all this information together I'm throwing stuff out but still not getting anywhere I'm terrible at following instructions man 😭
this is something i realized after coaching a lot of people, number 1 when you attack still create the distance and don't get too close, number 2 spacing is the most important factor but when you're fighting it should be in the back of your head, you remember it and do it automatically but the main focus is punishing number 3 practice against the bot sooo many time up until at least you reach the extreme bot
@Zenexasba I think what was really messing me up is the fact that I would always try to think about the spacing the whole time and not do it automatically thanks
No just watch the replay video i made, and when you find a mistake or you want to change something in your gameplay come back here and see whats the better option to go for, just work on fixing/doing one thing right at a time not all at once
@@Zenexasba ok thanks, and ive alredy started doing some of this things and i gotta say that winning is getting easier at my rank i cant wait to use everything in this video and see my true potential
stop the cope bro, it's not that you didn't want to get diamond but you couldn't. just say you're shit instead of blaming high ego players because they deserve to have high ego, they worked for it and they're usually better than 99.99% of players, ego is the only thing that will give you the drive to become better at anything in life. weak.
@Zenexasba bro I love your Vids do you think you can make a console video?I peak at 1700 and it just feels like I know I can be better on pc.plus you need more subscribers your content is top tier.

That callout at the beginning of the vid tho 👀
thats premium content
this is great advice- first game on clapped a valhallan, but how would you implement this in a 2v2 scenario
Watch my 2v2 video
I sure need this rn
0:14 yeah this literally me rn. This starting part already makes this video pretty promising
1:13 yeah i say yes
1:45 iiiiindeed
2:44 yep thas me
How do u beat passive/passive spamming players?
I feel like this was mostly common sense, I'm still stuck at 1900 though
thatsd bcs you dont know how to implement the things
🔥🔥
I don't usually watch "Guides" or anything but tuis is different from anything else I watched
How do u see your stats??
Ur supposed to aim up when you land on the wall to slide on the stáge
Guts PFP is a W
I'm struggling so hard to put all this information together I'm throwing stuff out but still not getting anywhere I'm terrible at following instructions man 😭
start with spacing and always ask yourself i'm i in the right position to attack or whats the best decision to make in this situation
I just came back to the game i used to be hardstuck 1900 now Im hardstuck 17-1800
Bro lost me when he started chatting about classes to make “anyone good” 😂😂😂
valeu menor vc ep ica
Bro spacing is the bane of my existence no matter how much i practice it i can never get it down 😭
this is something i realized after coaching a lot of people,
number 1 when you attack still create the distance and don't get too close,
number 2 spacing is the most important factor but when you're fighting it should be in the back of your head, you remember it and do it automatically but the main focus is punishing
number 3 practice against the bot sooo many time up until at least you reach the extreme bot
@Zenexasba I think what was really messing me up is the fact that I would always try to think about the spacing the whole time and not do it automatically thanks
Wait are you the guy I was playing 2s with from that one dudes stream? My yt is Noctis but my in-game name was NTS | GLORY, and I mained GS
^
Nah i dont think so
This is such a bad and good video at the same time

@@Zenexasba some things u said I remember we’re actual stupid but most of it I agreed with
Onlyclicked on the video so I could be the 1000 view
Help me im still silver i dont know what im doing wrong
Nvm im gold now thank you so much
Iam pretty sure I can reach 2000 elo if I just upgraded to a PC cuz rn I play on mobile with touch screen and am 1800
There’s a 2300 elo mobile player i know so why can’t you get it
Isn´t neutral just "spacing" ?! ... isn´t it the same thing?
Spacing is one aspect of neutral, a lot of components make up neutral
finna start getting clapped by tin players after this
lmaooooooooo u made my day bruh
@@Zenexasba now we even
lol being hardstuck with almost 300 wins is terrible 😂😂 Imma try to implement what you said
interesting intro
Lmaooo no offense bro 😂😂😂, its a psychological tactic to make viewers hooked
I genuinely didn’t mean to aim that at you 😂😂😂😂😂 im dying
Zenex, its been a while since we last played, why dont you spar me and see if the culmination of everything you have been teaching actually works
I use controller i find it difficult for movements and dodge reads and i even get bullied by friends 🤦🏽♂️
I wish i could get better
Controller is just as good as keyboard
@@Zenexasba but I need tips on how to get better
How many hours do you have bro?
ingame like 900
I found a problem with this video, a really big problem, and its that ill need to memorize all that lol
No just watch the replay video i made, and when you find a mistake or you want to change something in your gameplay come back here and see whats the better option to go for, just work on fixing/doing one thing right at a time not all at once
@@Zenexasba ok thanks, and ive alredy started doing some of this things and i gotta say that winning is getting easier at my rank i cant wait to use everything in this video and see my true potential
zenex barra ya3tik asba

im stuck at 1220 to 1280
Play the game
Wait i know you
mic fix please no hear
bro watched blue lock
ong, best show ever
the amount of ego that high elo players have is crazy, sad to say but thats one of the reason i didnt want to get to diamond
Don’t worry mate, I’ve been diamond for many seasons and I fuckin hate myself
stop the cope bro, it's not that you didn't want to get diamond but you couldn't.
just say you're shit instead of blaming high ego players because they deserve to have high ego, they worked for it and they're usually better than 99.99% of players, ego is the only thing that will give you the drive to become better at anything in life.
weak.
a lot of bitching, but sense u wanna speak on me. I been diamond a couple of times but go head yap more loser@@Zenexasba
So first?
yessir
@Zenexasba bro I love your Vids do you think you can make a console video?I peak at 1700 and it just feels like I know I can be better on pc.plus you need more subscribers your content is top tier.
I didn't understand anything, that's sad.
I just quit
Why
Cause 300 hours hardstuck in silver and lag kills me sometimes
