- The early years of the Broncos and Raiders rivalry were great, because both teams were competitive at the same time. They were an example of what made pro football, fun to watch in the 80's.
Broncos/Raiders games were pure gold in the 80’s!
Boy that's for sure
Thanks for uploading
Back when the AFC West was very competitive. Usually Denver, LA, and Seattle were battling for the top spot.
Yeah, they finished 13-3. 12-4 & 11-5 that year.
Even KC was 8-8 and last place San Diego went 7-1 outside the division in 84
Jim Plunkett was getting up there in years here , and Marc Wilson was an interception machine. Raiders were in a lot of games with their running game and defense only.
thank you for the upload I love old Raider games so much
You mean old Bronco games don't ya? LOL
No he doesn't!!!! He's a Raider!!! Not a jerky bronco, know what I mean!!!! OAKLAND RAIDERS FAEVA!!!!!🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🐘🐼🐬🐕🐳🐅🐻🐖🐄
Is it just me, or was the Bronco defense of the '84 season qualitatively better than that of the '87 season? Would the '84 defense have given up five touchdowns in *one quarter* in Super Bowl 22?
SingleTax The Broncos had a really strange defense in 1984, as they were about as bend but don’t break as they could be. They were 25th in yardage allowed, but 2nd in points allowed.
@@veggieoilerfan2940 They would give up a lot of yards, then take the ball away. They led the league in turnovers
Youre right the 84 defense was better. They were either first or second in the NFL in opponents turnovers and allowed the fewest points in the AFC.
The entire roster wasn't as good due to trading away picks for Elway, and then Ricky Hunley, who was a bust, as was Mark Haynes that we traded two second round picks for. This all started in 1980 when we traded two first and a second to the NY Jets for QB Matt Robinson, another complete bust. All those picks were wasted on veteran busts. I wish the Browns would not have fumbled away the game in 1987, they would have been a better matchup for the then Washington Redskins
@@82dorrin That was the Joe Collier philosophy!!
Always liked Marcus Allen. Hated the Raiders especially Al Davis.
The baseball infield dirt was in place on the field because the minor league Denver Zephyrs played in Mile High Stadium at the time.
I had a question about the infield. Check the comments, and boom, first comment answered it, thanks!
In 1985 I believe they were still called the Denver Bears.
Patriot Tex They were the Denver Bears from 1955-83, and the Denver Zephyrs from 1984-92. The team moved to New Orleans after the 1992 season.

Elway fires it past Lester Hayes.
I'm interested in mainly old games with Marcus Allen playing. Any help will be greatly appreciated! :-)
Why is there a baseball diamond on that field? The Colorado Rockies did not exist in 1984.
Broncos shared Mile High stadium with AAA Denver Bears baseball team in 1984
The stadium has been hosting a minor league baseball team since 1948 :)
Do you have Bears vs saints NFC championship game 2006?
I can try to post it to UA-cam, if the NFL doesn't block it.
The Raiders scored 45 points in their victory against the Dolphins later that season. It would have been interesting to see a rematch in the playoffs. Unfortunately they choked against Seattle.
1:10:51 Is that a young Todd Marinovich behind Coach Flores??!
yes, he was a waterboy for them. I think his dad was an assistant str and conditioning coach under Bob Mischak at the time
