This is when the NFL took over and became the great league it is today. The 80’s were the birthplace of this great league and it’s Domination of TV viewership.
I didn't know that the NFL who standardized the TV coverage with CBS, NBC and ABC after the 1970 merger with a rare regular season local TV broadcast cause usually they were regionally broadcast on the network corresponding to the conference TV package. I guess for this game in Kansas City, it was shown on KCTV, the CBS affiliate, instead of the NBC affiliate in Kansas City at the time in the early 80's, WDAF, which aired the Chiefs from 1963 when they relocated from Dallas to 1993 before KSHB picked up the NBC affiliation in 1994. I think the Seahawks also did a local regular season broadcast in both early parts of the 1983 and 1984 seasons on KING-TV that had the NBC network graphics but just regionally shown in and around Seattle. I know all of the teams still locally produce and televise the preseason games that were not nationally televised
Me too. This is the period in which the game started to be screen in the UK on our Channel Four and I have been a Raider ever since even making the pilgrimage out to Oakland just before we moved to Sodom and Gomorrah with neon lights LOL🤣 ironic that Marcus Allen ended his career with one of biggest rivals. Al Davis was our beloved founder and leader, but the very single mindedness that made us great caused him to make some silly mistakes too. I can't help but love the man though.
Marcus would be a great name for my first boy. Man this guy was good. He's like the guy with the best crossover dribble you've ever seen... but in football.

I wouldn't have swapped out D of that period for any today; they were AWESOME and the we made them better by adding Haynes from New England. Can anyone imagine a stadium being that empty nowadays?
Holy S**t I’m getting agita over a game that not only do I know the exact outcome of..but that also took place over 35 years ago..you guy’s ever wonder why every other team you’ve ever watched in your lifetime has no problem handling the winning of a football game by either running the clock out or in this case letting it run down until d**khead Jerry Markbreit gets to do one of if not HIS FAVORITE thing in his officiating career which is drop one more flag on us(and then announce it as if he’s mad at us Especially to our home crowd he really enjoys that..just like he did in the divisional playoff game against NE in 85..Check the blatant false start on LT Holloway at 17-7 right before the half that would’ve made them have to kick a FG that somehow got turned into a “neutral zone infraction” on Howie instead..so of course they get in the end zone after that so we don’t get 17-10 and the kickoff instead now it’s 17-14 and yeah we all know how the rest of that day went)anyway only WE could have a smart QB that’s a veteran that even went to Stanford of all places yet still doesn’t know to just kneel on the thing and then topping it off only we could have a Hall of Fame RB that doesn’t know that even if you’re semi f*****g hurt at the end of that play you can’t just lay there ya gotta get up! Or roll off the f*****g field if you have to I don’t give a s**t how you do it because we’re on offense so if you just sit there “hurt” staring at the grass the clock’s gonna stay dead with an injury under 2:00 even once you walk off the field..It’s literally like giving them one of their spent timeouts back!🤦🏻♂️ Ok I’m done pray for me.,GREAT upload again my brother I really do enjoy all of these even though it doesn’t sound like it😂they’re awesome thank you👍🏼☠️🏉🖤
I guess NBC didn't have it on their regional lineup cause if it was, it should have been aired in Kansas City on WDAF, which was the NBC affiliate at the time in Kansas City and on KNBC in Los Angeles along the NBC network
The analysis was pretty bad with Dawson in this game & Merle Olsen also in another 1 of these but at least they aren't trying to RIP off John Madden by yelling over the color commentator like every analyst seems to do nowadays.
Patrick Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes, Patrick Mahomes Patrick Mahomes Patrick Mahomes Patrick Mahomes DID I MENTION THIS GUY NAMED PATRICK MAHOMES?? HE'S BETTER THAN LEONARD RAY DAWSON
Your opinion, I have my own and as long as TB is playing in the NFL PM will never win a superbowl. My own opinion. I'm done with this texting. Have a good life Karly.
He was an excellent broadcaster and was used by NBC for NFL games as well as having a long and distinguished radio broadcasting career. The guy doing the play by play was a local TV sports reporter and not a professional game caller. You ignorant ass fool.

Watching Ted Watts and Otis McKenney play CB makes me understand why we did whatever was needed to trade for Mike Haynes. Sheesh...
