Absolute life saver this vid. Just taken all mine apart and needed guidance. Good man!
My pleasure Mate, good luck with your Kingpins. Cheers.
Thanks for sharing!
Cheers Craig.
Quite the visual watching you manipulate the king’s balls 😳 🤣😂🤣😂 Beautiful work 👍👍😎👍👍
Ah yes, an ancient technique, taught to me by a man of the cloth when i was just a young boy.
He did swear to me that it would come in handy one day. And there you go. Lol. Cheers Joel.
I can’t wait to see this car go for a rip! Nice work.
Thanks Mark, Cheers Mate.
Good stuff mate.
Thanks Stephen, Cheers.
Thanks Treasure
Very welcome, Cheers.
I enjoy your videos all the time as well comment when I think I can contribute something.
I wonder if you may consider welding the outer race out as opposed to the method you used?
Just my two bobs worth. Cheers, John, Australia.
yes tig weld the inside of the outer race so it shrinks when it cools, easy as
@@phatpizza610 However it is welded using Electric process, not Oxy/Acet should work in my thoughts. I have used MIG/Stick with good results and had no failures. John Aus.
PS I have not tried TIG, however I see no reason for this process not to work.
Sound good to me John, i'll throw that one in the old memory bank. Cheers Mate.
G'day from the UK Mr Aussie Shed! Loving your Z32 videos and been binge watching to catch up - digging your style and humour! You obviously have a wealth of knowledge to impart to us (slightly) younger folk and have already learnt lots of neat little tricks - very jealous of your garage and tool collection..... I've just bought a UK (very little rust!) 300zx 2+2 TT manual in red in much better condition than yours started out so I won't be tearing into it quite so much but looking forward to maintaining the hell out of it and very useful to see your vids into the deepest, darkest corners of the car to see what's what. Keep them coming!! cheers and GOD SAVE THE QUEEN! 😃
Cheers Edward, glad to have you on board.
I'm not sure about the restaurants you go to but where I go they discourage you from eating caviar out of your hand. Mind you, where I go they discourage you from playing with balls at the table as well, so maybe I should look at going somewhere else.
I've often wondered why people look at me so strangely when I'm eating at a restaurant.
So..... use the Cutlery & wear long pants, got it. Cheers Mate.
I thought por15 had to be applied straight to metal, but you said you primed it before?
G'day mate, yes, that is how its marketed. I've had no issues with using it over primer though.
Adhesion is definitely not an issue. I use it regularly both directly & over primer & have done so for many years.
For me its a convenience thing, if i'm fabbing or re-working something often it can be a mulit stage process, so I will prime here & there to stop surface rust forming over time.
Years ago I used to wire brush off the primer before applying por15 / KBS or any other moisture cure urethane.
Eventually I stopped doing that & just go straight over it. No Issues.
In some instances I prefer to do it that way.
eg: its pretty hard to hide anything under a finish that is straight over bare metal, (deep scratches, surface imperfections, rust pitting) powder coating included to a slightly lesser degree.
So... if a particular piece has a poor surface but requires a really nice pleasing to the eye finish & also a very durable rock hard surface, I repair as needed & then overcoat with Por15 or KBS.
Works a treat.
Cheers Mate.
👍💪💯
Are you gonna make the video on how to press in bearings back into kingin?
G'day Mate, yes I will definitely do that. All of the parts are sitting here in a box, I have unfortunately had other priorities with the Fairlady Lately, it will happen some time soon hopefully. Cheers.
How much would you charge for this car if u decided to sell it when its done?
G'day Mate, no idea, its one of those crazy passion things. I'm to scared to add up what I already have in parts waiting on the shelf for this thing. What it costs to build & what you can sell something for are very different things.
@@TheAussieShed yes your completely right about that if you someday add up the cost of the build maybe when ur done with it please let us know I'm looking to build one myself but kind of wanted a idea of what that would finally Intel to do it right ty for the information and I enjoy the videos
Please make sure that the metal components you're pulling off your car and not being reused are sent off for recycling; not thrown to a landfill.
Does Missus Aussie Shed ever complain about your greazy balls? ( I warned you that this car was going to make a drinker out of you)
Well she used to...... but since i've convinced her to stop wearing those silly white gloves its been a lot less of an issue. lol,
Nowadays after working on the Fairlady, i'm usually to drunk to care either way. Cheers Mate.
As it is called "Fair Lady" I suggest this color: Spanish pink #F7BFBE
