@@digger5521 Linky ? There seems to be a few bands in each genre that get all the attention, but no always my preference. Like mention post-rock and everyone goes to Mogwai, but give me Explosions in the Sky every day or Paint the Sky Red or God is an Astronaut. I like to hear about the lesser known bands in any given genre. Often where the gold is, though Lorna Shore is dominating death-metal for good reason.

imo dream pop is just more upbeat and pop-ish still very distorted but just a little less melancholy
dream pop can be very melancholy it's just more focused on the reverb elements of shoegaze not the wall of distortion
