8 Days in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming | Backpacking Photography Trip

- I credit my first trip to the Wind Rivers with inspiring my entire photography career. I borrowed my dad's compact point-and-shoot camera and spent the next 10 days amongst some of the most impressive mountains I've ever seen, but without the skill to capture them properly. I bought my first real camera only a few weeks after, and I've spent every summer since then dreaming of a chance to return. Although the weather didn't work out on this trip, it felt incredible to finally return.

Not everyone has the heart to pursue this kind of life. Nate you bring joy to our lives by sharing these adventures the way you do!
Thank you so much
Well done! Great job capturing the beauty of the Wind River Range! All of the time lapses, along with your commentary really added to it. Thank you for sharing your experience on this trail with us! 👍
Love it Nate! This is the true story of perseverance when things don't exactly go as planned. We had so much rain during our trip to Glacer... sometimes you're forced to make the most of it.
That yellow on yellow on yellow is quite the fit!
PS Taxes pass is a beast, especially with a pack on.
This video does not suck! I hope to seen this area one day. Thanks for bringing us along!
More of these shooting/adventure vlogs! This was rad, dude! The timelapses were incredible. It put some new spots in Wyoming on my bucket list!
Bro, loved every moment of your video! Amazing story telling, 100% on point color grading, buttery smooth and glorious timelapses. Really an outstanding video! I’ll be taking some pointers from your work for my next videos.
Great video! Bucket list place for me! You should do a video showing all the gear you pack for a trip that long.
I did! It's the video I published right before this one :)
Love it Nate. Headed there at the end of June! Thanks for the epic preview
What a gnarly adventure that was. Thanks for sharing Nate. Those time lapses were fantastic!
Thanks dude, glad you liked them!
Thanks for sharing this amazing adventure with us! That time lapse is perfection! Worth it? I think SO!!!
Yes it was!
That area looks captivating. No wonder you decided to choose photography as a craft. Good luck!
Great stuff. Your filming and cinematography is beautiful. I just did a 4 day trip in PNW and it rained the ENTIRE time. It’s very difficult to film in the rain! So I feel you. New sub
Awesome payoff. This was beautiful!
Appreciate it!
This is incredible
Great video! Thank you.
This is awesome, Nate!
Awesome video 🙂
Great video 😍
nice vid bro
Take head, the wind rivers are only for the tough
I enjoyed your video! Our family has been going to the Wind Rivers and the Green River Lakes since the 1940's. I made a video describing my family's history with this beautiful area of the world.
Saw you from Daily Dose of Internet ;)
Hope you rack up some views. The timelapses are incredible.
Seems like a good time, despite the rain! Also it looks like your photo writeup from this isn't up at the link above yet?
Hey, awesome video. What month was this? Curious if I should expect similar weather on my trip.
Cool! What did you use or how did you transport your camera equipment? Thanks for sharing!
I made a full video about my packing list for this! ua-cam.com/video/87w2D4l8SYk/v-deo.html
I’ve watched this video like 5 times because I’m obsessed with the camera work (and views) + motivational. I’ve never done a Timelapse but goals for one day.. what program would you recommended to edit them and do you color grade at all? Thanks in advance!!!🙏🏽
Thank you so much, means the world to me that you liked it so much! I have an entire video about my Timelapse process that should get you off on the right foot :)
@@Nateinthewild yes it was perfect and exciting to watch. Awesome I will check it out!!! :)🙏🏽
O yes last question I think I saw somewhere that the timelapses were with the siii… was just curious if all or only some were lol that opening one Espec was my favorite !!
@@rachel7550 It was a mix of the a7S III and the A1. The a7S III is perfect for timelapses, but I do like the versatility of the A1 (or any camera with a higher resolution) because you can export a 6k or 8k timelapse and then add motion to the final video in post, which is very handy.
@@Nateinthewild that’s super awesome. I would totally have to watch some videos to learn how to do that lol. Watched your timelapse video last night it was super helpful! Would love to make it to one of your workshops one day I’m sure I’d learn a ton from you guys.. but anyways yea I was curious because contemplating a 2nd camera to get to pair with my a7riv that’s a little better in low light. Tough call forsure
What is the name of the trail you went on?
Were there any wild horses out there?

Yes, that is how storytelling works
