    Just found your channel. Beautiful area, great video. I will be there in less than a month. Hiking in the same general area you were but coming in from the east side of the winds.

    I love how you get super excited about light conditions. My moon shot was your favorite image.

    Austin this trip was amazing. How many miles in total did you walk? I have a hard time walking 3 to 5 miles but you just killed it in this video. lol... Thank you for the inspiration.

      Thank you! It was somewhere around 80 miles, not totally sure of the grand total.

    Nice video. Where you parked your car, is that the Big Sandy Trailhead?

    Can you give a more detailed itinerary? Where did you camp? Route?

      I’m sorry, I generally don’t share detailed itineraries for off trail trips like this one.

    Awesome hike man! Hiking 5 days with camera gear and backpacking gear is no joke! How many lenses did you carry with you and what focal range?

    • @AustinJamesJackson
      @AustinJamesJackson  9 місяців тому +1

      I usually carry a 17-28 and a 28-200, with a CPL that fits both filters! One camera body and a tripod, plus a GoPro for UA-cam stuff!

      @@AustinJamesJackson Solid range! Gonna have to consider two lenses when I backpack now. Lol.

    It would be amazing if you could provide the locations or at least the name rather than that peak this peak. 🙂

      Sorry, this trip had lots of offtrail and I don’t disclose any offtrail locations. If you want to do your research on the Wind River Range, I’m confident you can find all of these spots!

      It's a well-known loop. Start at Big Sandy Trailhead. In reverse order, look for Jackass Pass, Cirque of the Towers, Buffalo Head, Heart Lake, Washakie Pass, Lizard Head, Bear Lake. These are some of the places I saw on a similar trip that are on the common trails. Pretty sure these are the names of places you will find. Go in August after the mosquitoes are dead. There are plenty more peaks and lakes that I never got to but will the next time.

    What was your route in the Winds?

    That image at 8:20 is just fantastic . Awesome stuff . It would be nice to hear more about technique as you're doing the voice over as I was wondering if you were focus stacking , exposure blending , etc . My camera certainly wouldn't handle some of that dynamic range . Excellent vlog and definitely have the Winds on my bucket list !

      Thank you so much for watching and the feedback! I’ll keep that in mind on the next one. That particular image was focus stacked with 2 images but I probably could have gotten by without doing it.
