I have a xiaomi mop essential and it worked fine until I got a rug with 3 black lines on the sides. The bad thing is ı ordered 3 smaller rugs of the same pattern for the corridors. The middle of the rug is whitish , there is no problem sweeping the middle. My nightmare started when I started the cleaner first time after I got the rug. ıt strugled on the corner of the rug and trıed to escape back, then I sensed something is wrong.. First I also thought about covering the sensors, I have taped it over but I guess the tape did not trick sensors, covering with a thicker paper has done the trick. As I am writing this comment my vacuum cleaner is cleaning through , well done .
I tried to use white vinyl electrical tape to cover the sensors, but my Roborock s6 didn't want to work. It alerted me about error 4 and dirty sensors.
I'm gonna do this with my Roborock s4 max... I have a rug with black circles on it and the the vac freaks out when it is cleaning it and I also have stairs (3 steps)... I'm gonna put a no go zone in front of the stairs on the map... I'm sure it will be good to go after that. Great video btw!
i got this robot and got the same issue error 4... this sucks, i will try your fix but im worry is covering those sensors it will affect the robot job, i dont even have a carpet..
It will not, what you have to be concerned about is if you have any stairs or a balcony. The sensores your overriding are responsible for the unit not to go over ledges or stairs. I hope this answered your question. Have a great day.
These things are stupid imo got one from a friend it's brand new and cant get the clean antidrop sensor error to turn off . I dont need im in a single level home. Ill stick to sweeping!
I would never understand why it didn't go over my black carpet! Thanks for the video.
Just bought a black rug and was wondering what was going on. Thank you for posting
Thanks for sharing. Used a rough side of old white school folder paper, tapped with aluminum tape and it worked.
Your welcome 👍🏽
Thank you soo much!! been dealing with this for 2 yrs, covered the sensors as you did and it works like a charm! Just made me soo happy :)))
An excellent presentation which is very much appreciated, thank you.

my tape always comes undone. Has anyone tried liquid white out?
I've got an E4 just like this one with a broken sensor cable that reports error 4 as soon as it's turned on. Do you think this hack would help?
Why not white tape?
how about white paint or white out ?
I try it and its worked 6 months and now Not more
is there any hack to magnetic field detection?
Is this waking to roborock too?
❤❤❤

Iris still telling me to wipe the sensor😂
Easier method - I used white-out.
Did not work
Came here for one thing and you talking about thirty other things what a waste of time
Hopefully you have learned that the world doesn’t revolve around you.
