Wow! This is exactly what I needed! THANK YOU! After spending over an hour on the phone with Shark customer service and problem solving, they told me that the sensors were shot, it was no longer under warranty and I needed to buy another one. It’s only two years old! Thank goodness I found your video, after following along and cleaning the sensors as you suggested, it works like new! I am SO disappointed in Shark over this, but so thankful for this video!!
OMG! Thank You!! I've been banging my head against the wall for weeks about why my bot kept saying it was on a cliff and it was sitting on the charger. Life saver! Thanks again.
Really helpful!! I run mine everyday, it’s had a healthy 3 day rest! As soon as I get up in the morning, I’m cleaning the sensors!! It’s giving me a “Cliff Censor “ error #7, I pray this works!!!!!
Great - thank you ! Mine started doing what I called the "Dock Dance" several weeks ago. It was taking half a dozen to a dozen attempts to dock and that was if it was successful. Many times it simply ran out of battery while trying to dock (since it was near the end of its battery/clean cycle anyway). I cleaned all the sensors and it promptly docked itself as quickly as the first week it came out of the box :)
A 1 minute video showed cleaning the 4 bottom sensors. Still had the "CLEAN" light on. Your thorough video showed how to clean all the sensors and it's working great. Thank you!😀😀😀
thanks for your help! mine ran over some dog puke and ever since then it thinks it's too close to a cliff to move.. gonna make sure i got all the sensors clean
I have a shark RV10001AE and no matter what I do he will go for about 3-5 seconds and give me an error 14 which is for bot boundary strips,,,,I do not have any of those got any ideas what to check.
Thank you. My Robot Vacuum didn't seem dirty, but it would spend 10 minutes trying to dock, give up and go to another room, and eventually the battery would run out. It's fixed. The funny thing though, it didn't seem dirty... but it worked,
I have a rv2011, and something is draining the battery. The drain is so bad that the base charger can’t keep the battery charge. The wheels are working and the unit was working fine until this happened. Tried a new battery, not it does the same thing. Your thoughts, Thanks
Hi there. I’ve tried everything you showed in the video, and honestly this isn’t my thing. Tell me how we get in touch so I can send it to you, please!!!
Which part/ sensor controls the magnetic strip control? I switched out a suction motor but now I'm getting a magnetic strip error. I don't have any strips. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.
@@SmittysWorld I just wonder if I’m going to have the same issue with another. The shifting of my homes foundation has my floors uneven; as if there are some minor slopes in the floor.
@@jellysbeanss I am on #3. The first one I got for xmas, three months later it gave me an error that it didn't have a suction cup, I called they sent me a new one. then 12/2 I had to call them again for the new one they sent, it kept saying it was to close to a cliff. so now I am on #3. These things go over some pretty big bumps at my house, I have to use the strips to keep it out of some of my rooms.
Man somebody got lucky if they sent you that many replacement ones, be nice if this happens in the real world , my experience is that everyone want to put it off on some else, my only resolve is to dispute with my credit card , what a shame 400 buck for the one with it's own dumpster and works 4 to 6 times , no it just says it's near a cliff, I have cleaned and cleaned these stupid sensors, no luck so now I'm stuck with it
Smitty, if you clean the cliff sensors and it does not work can you replace the cliff sensors? If so, do you have these parts for sale? Unit model is UR1005AE
@@SmittysWorld Shark has done a warranty replacement. I was hoping to fix the broken one now and have a second unit. Any idea on how to get the sensors or mother board? If not, are you interested in purchasing the unit from me? Has a self emptying base as well. Thanks!
thanks!! I had a cleaning module (laser AI) error. emptied bins, hair, dust, cleaned everything with damp microfiber, compressed air on everything but still didn't clear code. wiped everything with alcohol solved it!
Didn't work, mine cliff sensor is always telling me it's on a cliff when it's on a flat floor, used it 6 times , cost 400 now broke, Walmart refuses to take it back or offer a replacement , what a rip

I have a 750 with the cliff sensor error and after cleaning I still have the error. Are they picky about their warranty?
Thank you! Just what I needed to fix the error stating something was stuck in the bumper. Cleaned the sensors and eyes and it works great
Glad it helped
Great video, I did as instructed for the cliff error and it still is not working. Any other suggestions after sensors are cleaned?
Depends on the model replace the sensors is the next step

That was awesome! Thank you! Ours just started turning off for no reason with an error
Is there a way to disable the sensors? I don't a cliff not boundary strips
Not to my knowledge
thank you for sharing very detailed! MY robot has red light on Clean problem, could you advise me how to fix it pls. Ty!

The two in the front are the main ones. You can sometimes shake the robot really hard and it will come loose and work
I keep getting error number 14 but I don't have any strip boundary, I cleaned it up as you suggested but it's not working, do you know what I can do?
Not to my knowledge
My Shark IQ brand new out of the box, immediately has this problem.I have not gotten it to move, even after cleaning the sensors.
Call shark they will send you a new unit under the factory warranty. Or just take it back where you got it from.

Can you use Clorox wipes or glass cleaner to cleanthe outside sensor cover?
you can use windex or glass cleaner on a cotton swap
I just bought mine, but when will it stop banging in to things???
What model there is smart navigation robots and dumb navigation if it’s a cheaper one it’s gonna hit stuff to change direction
Do you know anything about error 10
Mine doesn't seem to have those little buttons on the side to push to get to the sensors
Do you have a front screen protector for a RV750 you’d sell me?

If your getting a sensor error on a 1000 series robot it needs new sensors or motherboard I always recommend having shark warranty this issue

It was a very good video, it work for a moment. It still had the same error code about a cliff.
If it’s a IQ series you need new sensors probably best to get a new robot if you don’t want to tear it down
thanks!!
