Uses and Installation Tips for Rotating Rod Holders (Evolution 360 Rod Holders)

Check out these new rod holders that can rotate! We did a review on what we think of them, what we use them for, and how we install them. They are made by a company called Exploding Fish and are called the evolution 360 Rod Holder. We like that they can rotate because we can fine tuna our spread when trolling for sport fish, such as Mahi, Wahoo, and Tuna. They are also good because we can turn them straight out and put our bottom rods in them when we want to fish for species such as Snapper, Grouper, Triggerfish, Swordfish, etc. We installed these on our 27 Contender but they can be used on most boats; like Yellowfin, Freeman, Seavee, Sea Hunter, etc.

Merry Christmas guys those rods holder while ur trolling work very well because u can have ur spread furder apart.i put them on my fun boat not on the commercial boat yet. Perfect video, super clear. Great job! I am building a new boat. It's a dual console with very thin gunnel. Going to fish a lot on this boat. This specific rod holder wanna used for deep dropping fishing, possibly on an electric real. Manufacturer told me that the most a rod holder can point to the outside of the boat is five degrees. Again, because gunnel is thin. Do you think I can install this 360 rod holder. In transit or trolling, point the rod holder to the back slightly outside. When deep dropping, point it to the outside of the boat perpendicularly. Even the end of the rod holder stick out, it's not a big deal. Make sense? Thank you!

May want to edit this because in the beginning, you say the whole holder rotates, but just the inside rotates.

dope review brother! Interesting man been looking at these too, we currently have the gemlux rod holders all over. Do you think the screws on the evolution's will become an issue 2-3 years later? Like with rust or loosening up during use? Also the Mic is a bit loud my man, your voice peaks weirdly at times!

I got nice stainless rod holders in my small robalo r160 I have no backing plate and it's just screwed in not sure if they used 5200 do u think it would be strong enough to use a penn 80 with a bent bit rod for sharks or do u think it may crack the boat

For those bigger fish and reels I would recommend a backing plate. The gunnel could probably handle it but just screws holding it down may not be enough.

You said comes in 0 degree? What would be the point of that?

A zero degree is good to put a bent butt in while your fighting big fish. You can turn it to the fish depending where it runs. For trolling I like the 30 degree ones.
