I forgot to mention that the DEF pump is located behind the DEF tank underneath the truck.
The DEF pump replacement can fix many problems like
SCR efficiency low
Improper DEF quality
DEF pressure low

Hi everyone, Francisco showed a very good video how to replace this pump. Once you have the cover off and have the pump underneath the truck with your tools and a drain pan. It only took me 20 minutes to change the pumps out. Thank you to Francisco please support him. He’s Videos are very detailed. His videos could save you thousands of dollars, so please support Francisco
Good video. For the coolant hose you do not need to drain it. Use that rubber glove put it on the hose when removed and use a zip tie to keep it closed.

Were you able to do that with the def side also?
I pull the coolant hose and immediately reconnect it to the new pump. No zip ties needee

Francisco how do you air up def pump on 2012 dd15 and where, I got mine building white residue on botom of silver cilinder and increase of def refilling so far no lights and codes but going to replace it in 2 days. And thank you for your videos they are wary helpful

Nice video. My pump just went bad or something. There’s a little plug in the bottom middle that shot out. I put it back in but it just shoots back out

Do a regeneration with the DDDL software. Maybe the emissions box it getting bad
We had air lines to check ,all was done at dealer ship, truck still comes back for def air pressure low or flow too fast .No matter how much new parts is on there ,even my laptop will always indicate change the pump or check air lines for kinks or leaks .And yes the updates are installed. I,m thinking ACM wiring issues or maybe communication error in wire signal ??

It takes coolant from your reservoir, as long as your truck has coolant in it and topped off at the reservoir, you don't need to add coolant to the pump.

Yes, he is right. You don't need to use DEF anymore.

You have to use a siphon hose you drain the DEF or remove the tank.
Freightliner DEF tank has not drain plug.
Just had that def coolant hoses replaced... yes they are hard to replace but costly as well cost me 891 dollars at freightliner.

Thanks. How do u operate dpf temp sensor connector? I can't get old one to disconnect. I removed a clip but still stuck.
There is a white or red clip that goes across the plug, push it to te side and it come out.
You heat up the plug with hair dryer and just pulled it out

You need a special plug Volvo and the obd pro link 2 for compatibility.
So the regular nexiq first generation won’t work or is do I need newer software?
If you have the OBD 16 pins plug, you need the second generation. However, some softwares or if the truck is older that 2013 I believe you can use the first gen USB link

depending on the fault number and depending if your truck is on derate mode. if extreme cases, the computer software must be use to validated the repair to clear the fault.
Does the new def pump have a new filter on it already? Or do I have to install a filter on the new pump?
The new pump comes with new filter installed.

I installed it with out priming it just did a forced regen with the OTR tool then cleared the codes with the same tool and have had zero issues.
