    【About today's Livestream】
I will live-stream part of the event called 「田んぼ学校」,'Tanbo School, a 1-day RicePlanting and learning event at KOMIYA Shrine in Saitama Prefecture, where Shinto priestess/singer Suzue-chan will perform as a guest.
Tanbo School is organized every year by the Japan Cultural Promotion Foundation.
The purpose of this event is to let people experience rice farming, which is a key part of Japanese tradition, spirit, and culture. The program helps people learn about the history, beliefs, and science of rice to rediscover the deep connection between the Japanese people and rice.
This program happens twice a year. Today, June 16th, participants will plant rice by hand in the fresh early summer air. In autumn, they will harvest the rice and give thanks for its growth. The harvested rice is given each year to the Kanname-sai Festival at Ise Jingu Shrine, the most important shrine in Japan. The deity enshrined there, Amaterasu Omikami, is considered the ancestor of the Imperial Family and the main deity of the Japanese people.
Tanbo School offers a fun learning experience for both adults and children, helping them understand and appreciate rice farming at the shrine.
