Facts. Personally, in my opinion, the 1986 theme is the best theme of the entire Classic era.
On the "if you were The Valeyard and you wanted to show The Doctor was evil, what episode do you show?" question, that's kind of why I love Mindwarp so much - because he essentially shows the court (the BBC and audience) the Twin Dilemma. A story where The Doctor has gone a bit mad, sells out his friend and endangers her life every few minutes, while they run around some caves fighting slug monsters who have enslaved the planet. And The Doctor is looking back at it, not realising just how bad things had gone despite his intentions and now here he is, facing the consequences.
Another reason I love Mindwarp is because Brian Blessed is in it.

Fun as always! Btw, it was Johnathan Powell (Head of Drama at the time) who had issues with Holmes’ script. Eric Saward and Robert Holmes were actually friends by the time of the latter’s death. It was (among other things) Saward’s disagreement with JNT over the unfinished episode 14 that caused him to leave. He wanted to honor Holmes’ plans to leave the series on a cliffhanger with the Doctor and the Valeyard in an unresolved struggle, but JNT wanted to end with a clear “the Doctor is back to traveling” thing, which we ultimately got.
I thought I was the only one who thought Mindwarp was really overrated, Mysterious Planet is definitely my favourite from memory

Completely unrelated to the video but have you read doctor who and the krikkitmen? Finished it only today and not only is it super fun but there's some mad little anecdotes (Four's hat stand got made by Jesus, paperwork is sentient, the dove just sat on the white guardians head and hadn't left etc)
Is Trial of a Time Lord the longest ever multi-Doctor story? I leave you to quibble about that amongst yourselves.
It must have been compulsory to have those helmets with the lights on them in every science fiction series back in the 80's

Why Glitz look like a off brand Riff Raff
The Underground...this is earth sequence/hidden underground apocalypse survivors, and in fact, the whole setting always seemed like a rip-off of Beneath the Planet of the Apes to me.
I always found this segment deathly dull. Mindwarp is OK, Vervoids is brilliant, Ultimate Foe is very good. But now I need a multiple Glitz story and Dawn French to be deepfaked onto this

Unpopular opinion: ignoring that awful Ace fact, Sabalom Glitz is a great character and should come back. Seriously, Chibnall, if you're reading this, bring Sabalom Glitz back in series 13 and everything will be forgiven.
