    Nice video, very helpful. Thank you. Just to let you know, they are not “handles”, but safety guards. They are there to make sure you don’t lower the lifting arms onto somebody’s foot. Please be extra careful if you have removed them.

    I bought a single post lift after moving from a building I owned that had a 10,000 pound capacity drive on lift. The single post is good in small shops for sure. The only issue I had with it was once I had the column get stuck, it wouldn't lower. It was because I had the car a little too much to the front when I lifted it. It's a bit hard to tell where the center of gravity is on a car as you position the lift under it. I bought 4 high lift jack stand thinking that I would put the car on them and remove the lift because much of the work I do involves rust repair and having the car on the lift has the lift in the way some times so getting it out from under is good. I got the car to go down after I figured out that it was wedging by putting a number of bays of coal in it to shift the weight to the rear and that made it no longer wedged and it came down. Good luck with your business!

    Excellent review and what a great little lift! I was very pleased to see you actually lift a vehicle as part of the review, i was almost giving up until it happened near the end of the video, so well done! Just the thing for diy car enthusiasts to work safely on our vehicles. Presumably you can use this outside depending on wind conditions, or do they state this isn’t allowed?

    Thanks mate!!! Just decided the lift I'm going to buy. 2 post was big and had to screw it on the floor. Scissor lift had not enough lifting height, only 100cm to 110cm most. This single post looks ideal. The reason I buy it is because I own six cars, wife and daughters 3, so I got tired changing oil and filters with a floor jack. Should have done this long time ago.... Again, a big thanks for your time sharing this review.

    Well, based on this excellent review, and the fact that I already have an Automotech AS-6745P, 4 poster hoist which is very good quality, I decided to buy one of these as well. I can confirm exactly what is described in this review. Everything lined up, everything needed was in the kit, there were no screws missing and it works perfectly. I can confirm though that the component sections are very, very, heavy and we had the luxury of a fork lift on site, but without one I think you would require 4 people and need to be very careful when moving parts about. Following the advice in the video, I bought oil and cable in advance and I think the entire job from unpacking it from its transit frame to testing took about five hours, but if you had to do it again you could do it in about three hours. I have now bought four car skates and an engine hoist from Automotech as cannot find better value anywhere. The only thing about them is they are a nightmare to get on the phone, blaming Covid and staff shortages, but if I had not bought from them before, I may have not bought due to the contact issues, although I can confirm they are a good, genuine firm and think this equipment is brilliant quality and great value for money. Happy with the results.

      I built ours with just myself & my father with no forklift or lifting equipment apart from a couple of trolley jacks, ratchet straps and old pallets. It took all day, but we got there with no trips to the hospital. Never again though.

Have had tyre changer for about five years now, and no problems at all. Where else could you kit out a workshop for such a great price?

    Some 2 post lifts are portable enough to shift when not using . These can carry say 500kgs more and does not interfere with under floor area as much . But really depends on what your doing .
    A portable unit needs a clean level surface . I almost bought a single post . This unit is a good one .

    I have the same exact lift and feel I need to add a comment. If you have a low ground clearance car like a Porsche, there is no way the front spoiler will clear the pedestal tube. I will come in contact with the tube period. I had to build a ramp to allow the front of the car to clear before the front wheel start lifting the whole car. If you try to push a 3000lbs car onto the ramp good luck, and if you drive the car over the tube this is when disaster will strike, ask me how I know. The other neat thing about this design is you cant open the driver side door while you go over the pedestal because of the vertical post, unless you decide to back it in(not a good idea. Other thing to mention is that the two front and rear wheels on the driver side always clear the pedestal so the car goes on the ramp with a tilt because the two front wheels are not level to each other, which make things interesting with all kinds of scrapping sounds underneath. Once the 2 front wheels clear the pedestal, the car comes down and remains level. The way to remedy the fun factor or going over the pedestal would be 2 long aluminum ramps slightly wider than your tire and then drive the car over the pedestal smoothly. I insist on using aluminium because once the car is up you will walk around underneath looking up and fall on your face when your foot comes in contact with the ramp. So they need to be removed and put away as soon as the car is up. Other than that it works ok. Last thing when you torque bolts or crack bolts the whole car shakes and dip a little bit to make things more interesting.

    Could you use this as a storage lift? Pull another car under a lifted one ? Use the ramps for the arms.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 роки тому +2

      I can't see why not. The only issue could be the height. Because you're lifting the car from the body, the wheels hang on the suspension which would reduce the clearance for the car underneath.

  • @mmark300
    @mmark300 3 роки тому

    How tall are the base stands that the car has to drive over? They seem pretty high and wonder if lowered cars could get over them.

    • @GoGreenAutos
      @GoGreenAutos  3 роки тому +1

      They're 11cm tall. Personally I always move the lift up to a vehicle. It is so manoeuvrable, it easier to do it this way. You'll be moving it slightly anyway most of the time if you drove over it.

    Just got a AMGO SL 7000# for $4900 including the $600 delivery charge and it's exactly like this one. 15 amp on 110 volt. I love it and just keep the oil line from the bottom of the cylinder safe from the weight of the post while it's horizontal, it will crush the black oil line if you expose it, tape it from getting under it before raising the tower upright.
