Great video! I have never heard of a single post car lift till I talked to a guy who owns one. I like that you don't have to drill into the concrete, which makes it a great option for me.
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I’m in the decision making phase right now but seeing yours makes a ton of sense because I am concerned with a scissor lift I can’t drop a transmission as easily. This one seems like it would make the job easier.
I was just looking at these today. They're now $5999.99 Canadian. I have a mid rise scissor lift and love it, but it does limit some activities. I'm sure I'd get used to it but it does seem kinda wobbly. I'd be afraid having to really bear down on a breaker bar that I'd upset the balance.
I use a tall adjustable jack stand on the opposite side of the post and that gives a ton extra stability. I've used it on every car van and SUV that comes through the shop and 0 problems and I do a lot of engine and transmission repairs. Thank you for watching
There’s not a 2 post lift or any type of column lift I’ve worked with that the car don’t wobble on it, it’s inevitable. Under hoist jacks and in front and rear of vehicle and it eliminates all front the back wobble
We used to have something similar 25 years ago in the first shop I worked in but back then it was bulky and huge . It had its own controls to move it and it was limited on ground clearance . If you wasn't careful you would bend a driveshaft . It's amazing how much things change but use same principle of function. Pretty cool lift . Make sure your reel can handle the amps mine smoked using a battery charger on it .
Interesting I seen the ones like what I got but never a old one. Thank you Kevin and is a 20amp motor so I bought a 20amp cord reel so it should be good
@@CountryMileGarage As long as it's a good one you should be safe those Chinese ones like to fudge the numbers. It wasn't the cord on mine it was the contacts on the reel . Granted I did have it for years .
I liked your video on the lift and the retractable electrical Cord. I do have a question mine when assembled I noticed the hydraulic cylinder that pushes the lift upward moves freely from side to side with no support when the lift is down. And not being used. Is this supposed to be that way. Appreciate your help
The biggest transmission I have pulled was a Allison 1000 transmission and used a Harbor Freight transmission jack and the one leg was a little in the way but got it done tho. BTW have a 3 year video review coming up on this lift where I point that out ... thank you for watching

Nice lift I been looking between that one and the Jack max the one is a two post but you can move the post if you need to but you need a good concrete foolr to use one and I dont know how good the floor in the garage is plus ain't that tall either how tall is your lift
Hey like your setup.. I have one of these units.. Question for you. Does the ram have play from side to side when no weight is on the carrier, is this normal??

@@CountryMileGarage is it fairly stable for wrenching? Seems like it would be tippy front to back with such a narrow base. I know supports would fix that, just curious how it performs by itself. I'm really intrigued by this lift

serious i was not thinking this was ideal (before watching)..ive been researching 100 different lifts and because of the non concrete issue i have, it would be actually worth it.... a couple of quick questions because i think im liking this over all of them. 1. 110 or 220 (plug or hard wired?) 2. does it lift any higher than the video..not that i need it to go too high, i was hoping for just a tad higher than the video (chest level) for brakes, suspension for maximum comfort 3. its not bolted to the ground at all? if i got one, i would probably get one or two extra tall jack stands as a precaution backup, as you can never be too safe when it matters.
110 volts but I installed a cord reel so I don't have to drag a extension cord around lol and yes it'll go just as high as a regular lift but my celling is only 10 ft tall And it's NOT bolted to the ground and you can move it around really easy that was for me the #1 seller on this because of "limited" space in my shop. With SUVs and pickup trucks I use a jackat the far end of the main beam to help make it more stable. hope this helps and thank you for watching
@@CountryMileGarage tHanks for posting this. This is a game changer. I have been looking for used lifts...they are about $1,500 but heavy and always 300 miles away. I have an in ground lift that I have never tried. This one seems easy....it arrives and moves around... tHanks again.
Question: Going to pick on up in a few days. Its used in a garage that only has 7 foot doors so it wont clear. I think my plan is to partially disassemble the lift. Do you know the Allen head size holding down the column and the center beam to the column? The manual does not give this information. A very good bit of gear. i like this so much because you can move it around in the garage any where.

That's pretty dope. Maybe something to add to our farm shop with limited concrete floor space.
That would work and you can move it out of the way
How do move it to a different location? Use a truck with a lift gate?
Use the pallet jack looking handle and pump it up and move it around. Thank you for watching
