Hi, I like it too and am on the way to build one. Can you please tell me how thick your shell is and how many plies it has? I am thinking about a 13x6. The shell which is available to me has 7 plies and 5.4 mm thick. Thanks!
This was just basic construction grade spruce, nothing special! Slow grown Sitka spruce (as used for acoustic guitar sound boards) would be nicer, but I thought this little drum sounded pretty good anyway, even with the cheaper materials. The edges were made from Maple for more durability at the bearing edge.
@@MurrayDrums thank you for the reply my friend. I see spruce increasing in popularity so it peaks my curiosity. I am a 30 year guitar maker and a drummer too. I thought about making some drums for myself. I got some really nice wood but I have noticed that the drum community has different opinions about tonewoods. It has been an interesting time of research to say the least. Thanks again! Love your work!!
Ummo gitt me a Murray set one day. Nice video as always. *-----Q-----*
