I am learning so much from your videos! I'm even taking friends "thrifting" and checking out the back stamps on china, crystal, and glassware! WOW, it's amazing!
Growing up we had that blue and white striped jug in one size up. It was on our supper table every night! My dad would cool his tea with a bit of water from it......good memories, good parents.
I’m in the uk and have a big collection on Cornishware a lot belonged to my grandmother, I also have a large Welsh dresser in my kitchen , I bought it from a auction years ago I didn’t pay too much for it back then and I love it . X
Hi Lady Mary Beth the best thing I liked from your video was the apothecary Furniture piece I guess you call that I would love to have one you always look so beautiful in your videos I love to see your videos I learned so much and you inspire me so much and educate me in all the finds that you have come across God bless you Lady Mary Beth
Yes, people made their own blends and I had been brought up believing that was the purpose of the bowl. However, a knowledgeable antique dealer told me it was actually a sugar bowl. This makes some sense, too, as sugar was also expensive and safeguarded in some houses. This way they could keep a small, useable amount of sugar handy for a single cup of tea or more informal tea, but still keep it under lock and key. Who knows? Maybe all are true depending upon the household.
Ann, we are lucky to have beautiful English antiques here. Dealers bring them in from buying trips. Was lucky to grow up with some of these fine furnishings. My parents loved Barley Twist, too.
It's like Tea Caddies R Us 😂 This is the kind of antique store I love best. Really old, fine things. They've lasted as long as they have because they are high quality. They were taken good care of by people who recognized their quality and value. These are treasures from centuries past and we are lucky to be able to be "custodians" of these exquisite artifacts. What an amazing store! Thanks for taking us along 🍷
What a wonderful tour of both shops - so many exquisite pieces! I truly enjoy your videos - it is so enjoyable to have an elegant, polished, articulate, well-spoken and well-educated host.
When you're in TN next, I'd love to see you feature Monty Young, Michael Hall, Sandra Polk, or others that specialize in regional TN & general Southern antiques. Many of us from the South appreciate the things made here by & for our ancestors.
Such beautiful pieces! That antique mall in Tennessee is a must for any antique/vintage decorator! Love the blue and white. Thank for sharing, really enjoy the information discussed for each item❤
Hello, We love your videos because you explain about the back stamp and give your opinion about the items. Just love you and of course the videos. Thank you.
I appreciate you taking the time to comment. Backstamps are a roadmap to the history of an item. In the design phase with a China Baroque backstamp bracelet. These can be as beautiful as the china piece.
Thank you for showcasing the beauty and history of antiques. As a new subscriber, I look forward to learning more. I have always enjoyed my grandmothers' treasures, and now I can enjoy their history as well.
@@MyTakeOnHomeGarden They were made by Samuel Radford (Ltd) who manufactured at High Street, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, England from 1883 to 1955. This backstamp is c. 1891 - 1913.
I love the sarcophagus style tea caddy, but I think the crystal bowl is a marriage, the bowl is often replaced, does not quite fit. I love Noritake. Love the blue willow wraps, lovely.
Now that I have revived myself from my swoon... 😂 Thank you so much for showing this beautiful antique store/mall to us! English antiques are my favorites and I spent so much of the video drawing in my breath at the exquisite pieces that I was positively light-headed! All just gorgeous! Thank you again! I always appreciate your commentary, as well. You are so thorough and such a wonderful hostess, showing us back stamps and close-ups of details. I will watch this over and over and daydream!
I love the compotes! My mother had an apothecary cabinet in the 70s, our drug store in town underwent a re model, and she bought it. Lots of wonderful things! Thanks for sharing ❤!
We had that exact biscuit barrel at home! Memories! Gosh, that French mirror is stunning. If that glass could only talk! Haha! Yes, you would fall in love with tea caddies and they are all fine examples x
It was quite interesting to see so many items hundreds of years old. And nice to learn the history of the tea boxes. I’m so glad you picked up both the dusters. I was watching and calling to the TV, you have to get them, you like the Chinoiserie so much, lol. Enjoy your beautiful dusters.
What fun! The Winchester Antique Mall is definitely my favorite place to shop when in Franklin, Tennessee. So many beautiful treasures. I’m so glad you got to visit, Lady Mary Beth! 🛍
The cups, saucers and tea plates are not Crown Derby or Royal Crown Derby, they were made by Samuel Radford (Ltd). Samuel Radford (Ltd) manufactured china in High Street, Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent, England from 1883 until 1955. The backstamp was used c. 1891 - 1913.
Probably not so much a case of having a good eye as being more familiar with the Crown Derby/Royal Crown Derby backstamps. Have a collection/collect Crown Derby/Royal Crown Derby - mainly Old Imari (1128) and Imari (2451) with a few pieces in the Witches Pattern (6299) and Kings Pattern (383)
I don't think the glass in that Georgian Tea Caddy is a "slop bowl". It's a Caddy Liner aka Mixing Bowl for the two types of Loose Leaf Tea that are usually stored in the two Cannisters. 09:59 The inside of the Cannisters used to be lined with tin/aluminum, and because of age look "dirty". The Slop Bowl is a separate bowl for discarding tea leaves at the bottom of the tea bowl/teacup. This was before the Victorians invented the Tea Strainers. 🤔 There's also a Tea Caddy spoon to scoop and measure tea leaves, usuall one Caddy Spoon of tea leaves per person. ❤️💕🥄🍂🫖
I found you looking for chinoiserie and when you find it I love seeing it! I have a Duck spout Sadler teapot I bought for $14. Inside was a note that it belonged to a Great aunt who married in 1815. It was never used. I have my grandmother’s Sadler, too. It would go well with any of the Imari! Thank you for showing so much! How much was the bust in the Scarlet Scales store? I can call if you don’t know. Mackenzie Childs uses a bust in their latest catalog.
You have a wonderful family treasure with an interesting history. So special! Please call the store to ask about the Scarlett scales front table bust. I did not catch the price.
The tea caddy with the crystal piece. I Don't think the crystal is original to the piece. A teabowl would be thereto mix green and black tea, often in glass or crystal.
What is it with all that sound of horrible nerve wrecking music, no different to heavy metal music, there is no need for that. Just get to the point.! What is wrong with you ppl you all seem to copy each other sounds.
I am learning so much from your videos! I'm even taking friends "thrifting" and checking out the back stamps on china, crystal, and glassware! WOW, it's amazing!
Thrilled to hear this! Enjoy your thrift outings! 🛍️

That Welsh "Dresser" Hutch is my absolute dream furniture piece❤
Efficient and stylish. Those copper pots complete the look.

oh my goodness if I went there I would have to rent a uhaul to drive home. so many gorgeous things!
I think the glass bowl in the big tea caddy was to mix the two different types of tea together.
Good to know! ☕️
I was about to say the same thing. My mother told me it was to mix the blends of tea together.

You have an amazing knowledge of vintage and antiques, in so many categories 🥰
I would use the tie backs in an entry way to hang coats or hats on.
Brilliant and creative use of antique curtain tie-backs! 💡
Thank you! Just beautiful! Many favorites too!❤❤
Thank you for the education.

I love the sarcophagus style tea caddy, but I think the crystal bowl is a marriage, the bowl is often replaced, does not quite fit. I love Noritake. Love the blue willow wraps, lovely.
That was amazing- so many interesting pieces. I’d need an elevated budget to take most of those lovelies home though 😢
Beautiful collection, thanks for sharing stay safe and have a blessed day. 👍

I wish I could afford some of them
Loved it; not cheap though
Yes loved this too I much rather watch LMB take us for a stroll through a higher end shop than look at made in China nik naks.

This is a older video. I hope you see this. Early August 2023 NOLA vacation. Have you been to any antique stores on Royal Street?
It’s been a few years since I was on Royal Street. NOLA is always fun. I think the silver shop closed.
Heading back to England in 2 weeks I will be looking for these items 🙌🙌
Curious to know flea market prices on tea caddies. 🤔

@@LadyMaryBeth the $14 Sadler from 1815 was an auction buy and the store owners didn’t know what they had. Thanks for the reply!
Nice to see there's still a market for it, my friends in the UK, tell me you can't give this stuff away, nobody in the UK wants it.
I would take the Welsh cabinet in a heartbeat. The modern farmhouse look will go out of style. Classic, well-built furniture is here to stay.
Been waiting all day for you!!!
I absolutely love the leopard jacket❤ where can i find it please?.?
