  • Rush Creek in Novato, Ca is located right off the Atherton exit on HWY 101. Rush creek offers up some really fun beginner double track and single track. All the trails here are green and beginner friendly but don't let that sway you, these trails run fast and have a few surprisingly steep sections. Just like anywhere else in the Bay Area weekends can be busy with hikers so keep that in mind. I recommend this place to all skill levels, from beginner to pro there is plenty of fun to be had here. If you haven't been, do yourself a favor and go check it out! Now go outside and ride your damn bike! 😎

I was one of the equipment operators on the Parks Trail crew that built those trails a few years ago. It’s nice to see how they have grown back in and how the trail has held up since we finished building it.

I go to this trial quite a bit. Not only is it great for beginners but its also fairly smooth for gravel bikes, XC bikes and hard tails. You don't get too many of the rocky spinal re-alignment that other marin trails have post rainy season.

Definitely! Rush Creek is underrated and it’s never that crowded. Always a good time

Yasss Rush Creek is great, I usually recommend it to beginners instead of China Camp, trails are perfect for learning, and yet I rarely see any bikers when I go

Totally agree! I’ve been bringing my girlfriend who is new to mountain biking there almost every weekend.

There’s an off camber turn that’s washed off to the right that always gets me it’s towards the end of the bottom main trial and where you have the most speed I always wipe out because I forget about it but Helen Putnam and rush creek are my places to go when I testing out new parts or bikes specially in the summer afternoons when there’s not that many people

Yeah man, Rush Creek was super fun. I was pleasantly surprised. Rush Creek/ Putnam are mellow but have some surprisingly fast/ flowy sections.

Looks like a great place for a quick ride and it looks pretty doable on just about any bike.
That trailhead is only a couple of miles from my brother's house. I'll have to check it out next time I'm in Cali.

It’s very doable, I brought my girlfriend there who is a novice rider and she had a blast. Hope you can check it out someday
