Great addition! My watch collection is similarly skewed towards dark-face dials and more sporty cases, so this watch is definitely an outlier in my collection. Hope you enjoy yours when it comes!
I have been waiting for over a year for mine to ship. I chose purple with the bracelet. My advice is to get this and and the Twelve while CW is maintaining a modest pricing structure.
It does take a bit to get used to... but after a few days of wearing it my eyes adjusted. In real-life the 3D floating structure does add a bit of contrast against the dial's background as well!
This awesome piece is the watch you wear on a Sunday afternoon sipping on a glass of your favourite poison ready your favourite book and just enjoying the moment to its fullest. It’s my grail watch and I hope to get one someday.
That sounds like the perfect occasion for this watch! I can say truthfully that this is the one "hype watch" of recent memory that is actually worth the hype (and its price tag), I hope you get to add it to your collection soon!
Congratulations! I do think the rotor may be "loud" in this watch given that the entire case is designed to resonate sound from the chime (and therefore would, in theory, resonate any other sounds in the case). That's just my personal theory, though - I also think Sellita movements are a bit louder than ETA's in general as well.
Agreed, they are killing it. I have my eye on their new moonphase watch, but I also want to see what else they have up their sleeves. They mentioned in some interviews that the Bel Canto was just the tip of the iceberg for what they have in the R&D pipeline...
It would be good if Christopher wards actually ships the watches to the customers. I have been waiting for almost a year an half after placing the order for bel canto and all I get are emails saying watch delivery is delayed.
This may give you a little hope- I ordered mine in January 23 and it has just arrived today so you must be pretty close to your delivery date too. It is worth it, the watch looks even better in your hands than in these videos
It took a while to receive my watch as well (about 8 months) - but the wait was well worth it. I agree that the watch on your wrist exceeds any expectations/photos/videos
I'd say it mostly presents as an "icy" blue. Out in natural sunlight it has a more blue tint, but under white LEDs (which I used for this video) it does have a more greyish tone. If you check out my instagram, I have some high-quality photos of the watch outdoors and in different lighting that will give you a better idea!
The indicator shows whether the hammer is "charged" to hit the gong or not. Sometimes you don't want the chime to go off (during a meeting, at night, etc.), so you can easily click the lower right-hand button and turn off the chime (and see via the indicator on the dial that the hammer is not charged).
That is a shame! Yes, the wait is VERY long, I think I ended up waiting about 8 months (I bought mine within an hour of them opening up online orders). I will say, this watch was very much worth the wait, and I am the least patient person in the world. I also felt at the 6 month point "do i really need this watch?", and I'm glad I was lazy enough to not go and cancel my order. That being said, I hope you found another great watch to purchase instead, there will always be an opportunity down the road to purchase a Bel Canto (or maybe even its successor)! :)
That's fair! If I could give 100 points to a watch just for affordability (and more specifically, bang for your buck), this watch would certainly qualify.

Very fair (although I have big wrists so they look okay on me!). I do have to say that the Bel Canto wears fairly petite for its 41mm size - I think it feels closer to a 39mm/41mm on the wrist (especially with a leather strap and light-colored dial).

I wish it had a clearer distinction between the dial and the hands. Apart from that it is a great design.

Received mine last week. Beautiful watch. I do find the rotor quite noisy for a luxury watch though.

Personally I prefer the leather strap because of the contrasting color, but the stainless steel bracelet seems well-built and a worthy alternative!
