He definitely had a motive beyond "murdering for murder's sake." He wanted to build a soundproof bunker that nobody could escape because he wanted to hold women captive and sexually assault them. The contractor denied him that chance, thank God.

He only got caught with the CP because of the murder investigation, so it wasn't like the justice system had even had a chance to sentence him for the crime yet. His only serious prior crime to the murder investigation was a rape investigation that didn't proceed to court because the victim refused to press charges. Even the rape charge that was dropped for the murder plea was only possible due to him having recorded himself in the act, evidence they only got because of the murder investigation.

Yes - for her sake as well as the animal's. I hope the hedgies are OK too - you dont need to personally know someone to know that they would be distraught if something happened to their pets. Nobody with cats and hedgehogs (or any beloved pets), who goes to the extent of having a birthday party with her friends for them with gifts and making a petfood cake, especially with the sort of kind nature that also wants to care for friends by cooking for them, would *ever* just walk away and just abandon her animals like that. It's always cause for concern if somebody with beloved pets just disappears on them - they'd never willingly do it, it's an immediate, huge, red flag.

Crime can happen anywhere, but there are certain practices that can help to keep ourselves safe. Keeping risky behavior like this secret, not letting anyone know where you'll be, meeting strangers in remote places at night, participating in known sketchy dating sites, etc. are not actions to encourage.

I really have a hard time believing much of what happened in this case. Her parents and friends didn't know anything about her doings online. She thought it fit to hide it from them, because she knew they wouldn't agree with it. Then the courts believe he only killed her. I'm bloody sure he wanted to have sexual intercourse and when she refused he'd beat her up, tied her up and sexually assaulted her before he killed her. Why young girls would risk exposing themselves to the dangers of these online dating sites and sell their bodies to complete strangers, is just plain madness. How many women haven't been scammed, attacked and murdered by criminals hunting women online. I wish the day would soon come that women will wise up and stop this practice and rather find decent work to make money, or safer ways to meet men. We shouldn't keep silent and not warn our girls while this is happening to our women-folk time and again without addressing the problem. I hope she's at peace in heaven. I apologise if it sounds like I'm blaming the victim and not the rubbish who took her life. Peace.

The light Mackenzie radiates is palpable. I feel like its coming through my computer screen. How senseless. It breaks my heart and enrages me. The perpatrator is an abomination who doesn't deserve to breathe.
Thank you for covering this story. You guys always do a fantastic job of presenting the facts of these difficult cases. And always with a well written and articulate narration! I appreciate and look forward to your videos.

I can't believe they just let him walk away while they were searching his house.
He was a suspect in the disappearance of a woman and possibly a murder.
Why wasn't he handcuffed or at least made to sit in a patrol car?

False, you can be detained and stoll handcuffed. Learn the law.
      Detainment is not arrest.

How wholesome is it that she had a birthday party for her cat, and then a murderer left her pets without the best mom.

I’m sorry to say it , but the poor girl dabbed in the dark side, with someone she met at an on-line dating site & meeting at a dark park at 2:30 am, to go have sexual time! She didn’t deserve to die, but this guy was going to kill someone somewhere sometime. A secret life! Witch ment she wasn’t open to friends advice, that might have saved her life. Evil is out there, it’s a very real thing!

She was working as an escort. A young blonde white girl meeting a savage Nigerian in the middle of the night to take the BBC wasn't a good idea. The outcome was predictable.

It's disgusting how prevalent and normalized the sugar daddy thing is...
The last time I tried online dating - and on a *normal* dating app, by the way, nearly every single girl was asking for a sugar daddy... if not that, then trying to sell nudes.
It was the most discouraging thing.

Nobody deserves to be murdered. If you don't have good morals and put yourself in situations you shouldn't be in, you put yourself at a higher risk of becoming statistics. I.e. becoming a sugar baby or prostituting yourself in any forms. Those are the people predators find first. The victims walk right into their traps. Raise your daughters to value their bodies, and not just financially.
