The thick yarn says octopus to me!
Thanks for sharing your month. Interesting as usual.
Great idea, I do have lots of it too, thanks so much xx
Love the sheep you are creating for Yarndale. I'm sure your stand will loom amazing. So glad the Gracie has recovered. Hope you had a good time in Rotterdam x
Thank you so much! Gracie is all good and back from Rotterdam which was a lovely European city to visit xx
Poor Gracie, I’m glad she’s better :) beautiful everything! The dyed wools are so beautiful, what a fantastic job!! Good luck with everything and I hope your back and foot get better soon ❤
Thank you so much! xx
Another wonderful vlog. Prayers for Gracie and for your back! Love your assortment of sheep breeds! 🐑💕
Thank you so much! Gracie is all good and my back is in slow recovery but improving, thanks for watching xx
Aw I hope your dogs ok now? Bless her.
Hope you enjoy your trip away.
Loved how the dying turned out, lovely colours.
Thank you, Gracie is back to normal and barking at everything! Thanks for watching xx
@@feltsbyphilippa that’s lovely to hear. So glad.
I am relatively new to felting and have only recently found your website. I am absolutely loving your vlog and seeing all the things you make. Such an inspiration. Thankyou Philippa.
Thank you so much! That's very kind and glad you like the channel xx
Wonderful video! ❤ That new felted yarn is perfect for mushroom gills! 😍 I was looking through the whole internet for something like that, brilliant product!
Hey! Yes, you are very right! What a great idea and a real time saver too, hope you are well xx
You and your videos are amazing. Thank you for sharing!
You are so welcome!
I like the positive mushrooms so cute (:
Thanks, I think they are cute xx
I hope you had a great time in Rotterdam. Until 5 years ago I lived in Dordrecht, naar Rotterdam. We have exchanged the big city for a Village where nature is just around the corner. In addition to all the beautiful things you create, I also love the images of the beautiful nature where you walk with your wonderful dogs (luckily everything turned out okay again).
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the vlogs, Rotterdam was really great, easy to get around, lots to see and we stayed in an apartment with a perfect view of the city, thanks for watching xx
Those sheep and cows look adorable ^^ keep up the good work and I hope your back gets better soon. :)
Thank you! 😊 xx
Love your videos, you are a great teacher
Thank you so much xx
This vlog was great and I really enjoy the walks also! I am glad Gracie is better, your wool dyeing is exciting! I just started doing a bit with Kool-Ade since it is nontoxic. As always, you set my old brain afire with all manner of possibilities! Thank you so much!
The wool dyeing really is a fun thing to do and just amazing to get all the different effects, glad you enjoyed the vlog xx
Thank you, once again, for a fabulous vlog. I always learn something new. Applying the locks really clicked with me. For some reason I never thought to lay them down in clumps. Too much gray hair. 😂
It can work really well and give a lovely sheep coat effect, my video on different sheep coats covers other methods too xx
Natural dyeing is the best. I have a mixed fiber flock and dye their wool with the plants on my property. The wool is sold or used for my needle felting! Have fun!
Oh wow! The perfect process, lovely to hear about xx
Always look forward to watching your videos. Can`t wait for the next one.
Thanks so much for watching xx
Another great video 😊
Thank you 🤗xx
I bought the tacky wrap bun from little oke dolls. It’s a sarafina fibre art product that would have cost a fortune buying from USA. I use it as a solution when creating thin legs for my geckos. I was going to mention it here before in response to a very kind solution you had posted in response to a question I had asked about the same. Didn’t like to mention websites by name without you checking them out 😊
It's always good to know someone else has used them too so thank you! xx
I think I would use that thick yarn twirled into coasters and maybe a pot holder/hot pad? What does your husband do for art? That wet felted otters in the water was amazing!
Thank you, yes, the big yarn would be great for coasters, I will dye it up and have a think. My husband does photo's/paintings of sport and classic cars, he is Fuel The Passion on Instagram, thanks for watching xx
Hi 👋🏻. Thank you for sharing another lovely video. I so enjoy all of the things that you share in your vlogs. The magnificent scenery that surrounds you on your walks with your fur babies is so peaceful. I was wondering what type of art does your husband create?
Thank you, glad you enjoy the vlogs, so my husband takes photo's of sport cars and vintage cars, adds graphic detailing and also top paints them too. He is under the name Fuel The Passion on Instagram xx
Thanks for another lovely video 😊. You could do a komondor dog with the wool. Hungarian dreadlock dog x
That's a thought, the dreads work work very well for the look, thanks for watching xx
Oh Philippa your sheep and Coos are wonderful. I always look forward to your videos ☺❤
Thank you as always for being here xx
Your artistic ability is so incredible!! Wow. The sheep are SO beautiful!!!! The otter. I JUST CANNOT EVEN!!! He is so incredible!!! We love us some otters at our house. (In Texas! ⭐️) I squealed and did a happy dance when I saw him on your table. You are so incredibly gifted!!!!! 🦦 🤩
Oh sweet Gracie! Doxies can have very odd reactions to bee stings! I’m glad she’s better. My black and tan Magnus got stung by ground bees! Wretched creatures! After we rushed him to the vet he told us to dose him with Benadryl should he ever get stung again. It helped stop the swelling or any possible anaphylactic reaction. Super scary!!
Back pain is horrendous. It affects EVERYTHING. Just an unsolicited bit of advice as to your back…are you icing it? If you do 20 minutes of sitting against an ice pack wherever the back pain might be, morning and night, it will help with any inflammation that may be causing you trouble. It’s amazing what ice can do!!! (My husband is an occupational therapist. A doctor no less! He believes in the power of ice!)
I hope your back is on the mend and sweet Gracie as well. Mean old bees!
Thanks! Yes, Gracie is all good luckily but I now worry about any future bee stings, I may even carry Benadryl on me for instant administering, our vet gave us the same info so that's good.
I am an ice user too, I think it really helps, I am always going on at my husband to try it for his back. My back improved for a week but has re twinged now so ice pack twice a day and the ibuprofen is helping a small bit, there is always something!
Thanks for watching and really pleased you liked my otter xx
I have seen some crochet baskets/bags made with really thick wool and very large hook.
True, maybe that would be the perfect idea, thanks, I didn't think about that and I have made some before. I could dye it really varied colours too before I crochet it xx
@@feltsbyphilippa Or I just thought what about a chunky scarf?
@caronspurway3792 A good possibility too, I really like the crochet bag idea as well, thanks xx
You are such an inspiration. Thank you for sharing what you do. This video was packed with so many wonderful items.
Thank you! I wouldn't be able to continue doing it without everyone watching and supporting xx
Those Highland Cows at the end are absolutely stunning!! x
Thank you! I have just checked on them all ready for the art week opening on Saturday, I think they look cute together, hopefully they sell, thanks for watching xx
I was just about to get on with my day (packing for 3 weeks in France - we leave tomorrow!), but then I saw your video and had to watch! Enjoyable, as always. ❤ Question: I’ve never purchased a wool/needle felting related advent calendar, but I think it’d be fun. The challenge is getting them before they sell out. Are there any that have been favorites of yours in the past, Pippa? I’d love to be able to check out websites in advance and sign up for email notifications so I don’t miss out. I hope your back is feeling better!
Hi Jill, hope you are having a great time in France! So, I haven't had one before, this will be my first year. I know Barn2Yarn do one that is fairly good, just check on their Instagram, I think it will come out this month. World of Wool do two, a fibre one and a yarn one, I am going for the fibre one as it's a little bit more useable but probably really for spinners, not sure when this is out. The only other one is The Crafty Kit Company, they do one that has a project in it which you felt parts of it as you go, seems fun but might be geared towards the beginner felter? Not sure. I am also getting a yarn wool one for me, all the wool ones have already been out and done as they have to dye them up. Let me know if you hear of any others xx
Thank you for your vlog always enjoy. I've been busy creating my fabric journal all hand stitched adding cross stitch tapestry journal cards with my own designs. Love the sheep and cows ❤😊because we live in the Welsh valleys our Internet isn't the best whoever were with sadly and they don't do the super fast broadband this far out so can understand your former frustration 😔
Thank you and love the sound of your hand stitched tapestry journal, how beautiful that will be. Super fast broad band has only just arrived here so we are quite lucky to have it, I am definitely appreciating it for the uploading speed, thanks for watching xx
As a Dutchie I am so curious what your going to do in Rotterdam and if you liked it. Have fun!
Had a great time but didn't make it to any wools shops, there will be some footage in my vlog next month, thanks for watching xx
I always enjoy your vlogs and seeing what you've been up to! Are those felted sunflowers I see in the background or? I'm sunflower obssessed and must know! lol!
Thank you, no they are crocheted, I purchased them at a craft fair, I couldn't resist, hopefully I can learn to crochet some in the future xx
Oooooh Sarafina supplies in the UK, that's exciting. Last year I asked a friend who lives in Las Vegas if he could order certain items from Sarafina and then post to me, he very kindly did so and wouldn't let me pay for the supplies or postage 😇😇😇😍
That might be the cheapest way to get things, it still wasn't the cheapest but at least it's a bit better xx
Thank goodness your doggy is OK love her overall give her a cuddle from me 😊❤
She's all good but I am a bit paranoid now near that area, lots of cuddles will be given xx
@@feltsbyphilippa yes I can imagine
Feeling sheepish 😂
Must be a proper word! 😂xx
Philippa as always a great vlog. Glad your dog has recovered well🥰. Those thick yarns, could they be dyed and twisted to edge a picture frame?? Just a thought 😂. Your plans seem a to be going well for Yarndale👍🏻. I have been asked to make a Highland cow for my daughter in laws dad for his 70th. He lives in Scotland. What wool would you recommend I order from WoW?
Have a great weekend away xxx🌻💕
Hi Val, we had a lovely weekend, stayed in a beautiful apartment, really pleased to have visited and my son enjoyed his gaming convention too. So, I use Antique Merino for most of my Highlands, you could combine it with some other colours by hand blending, maybe a brown and another lighter colour but antique is the one I use most of the time. Hope it goes well and lovely to hear from you xx
Sheep with dreadlocks...Hee hee
That would be a fun look! xx
Always look forward to your monthly updates. If you don't mind me asking, what type of yarn was it that you dyed with those beautiful multi colours?
Hi, so it was from World of Wool, their undyed yarn but I just picked it up in there so I'm, not sure exactly what it was, possibly a DK xx
@@feltsbyphilippa thanks
Thanks for another great vlog! How do you make your hooves and horns? (Maybe you've described the process previously and I missed it.)
I use fimo clay for them, it cooks up in the oven and has a nice finish to it xx
