Thank you for doing what your going brother!!! Have 1999 Yamaha venture 500xL similar engine. Having major bog issues won’t go over 45000 rpm… and now won’t start even when putting gas in plugs. New to sleds, did the carbs and feel I messed up all the tuning. Lol your videos are helping. Mine runs better on choke as well and I’m also feeling it’s crank seal which would suck. Just bought last season. Oil leaking from engine doesn’t look good. Going to try a few more things you’ve showed. Thanks again. I’ll keep watching. Question, does the filter in the tank sit sideways or straight up. Mine is sideways. Wondered if that could be the issue but can’t get into the tank to pull out the filter. Pulled off seat but still don’t understand how to get the filter out. 😂 Anyways I’m learning the engine through all of this so yay!! I will redo my plug boots as well. 👍🏼
In the older phazers the fuel filter is vertical, but my 1999 phazer it lays on the bottom so I think you are ok there. Did you put the rubber plugs from the bowl side of carbs in the correct spot? That’s a pretty common thing to mess up
I have a 1990 phazer 2 and it is super boggy in the low end, once it clears up it runs perfect. Ive replaced the belt, have cleaned the carbs multiple times and still have no luck. Rubber plugs in carb are in the right places and in good shape. Any ideas what i could try?
I’ve had the best luck with 95/137.5 jetting, I’m at 1200-4000’. Also try mixture screw at 1.5 turns out, and adjust 1/2 turn either way and see what happens. If everything checks out I’d say crank seals
Interesting Video. That sled has evidence of having a cold air intake once installed. However I didnt see an air-box in the sled? Ive heard phazers need that airbox to run right.
Moto Shark. Ive had Kuni filters on my phazers for years. They run fine. Also theres a carb mod for the midrange bog. Its been years since i did it. Ill try to find it and post it.
They are different from the factory due to routing, the clutch side is much shorter than the mag side, the mag side line has a long routing and an outside bend to get back to the fuel nipple. I should know I’ve done it over a hundred times

No oil should be leaking from engine, have you checked compression?

Often during testing I leave the airbox out so I can access the internals easier,

Bbbrrrrraaaaaappppp!! MAGA 2024!!!
Get after it! Thanks for looking!
Fuel lines should be the same length from Fuel pump to carb

dirty jets
Nope, this was bad crank seals.
