- A very important look at the Origin of the Type moon Universe. From the creators of Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Grand Order, Kinoko Nasuand his right hand man, Takeuchi Takashi, show us the benefits of perseverance and quality execution. Now that they're pocketing billions with just a mobile RPG, it's no wonder why these guys gained the spotlight.

you know what, hearing that Nasu was turned down because his stories are too friggin long is no shocker to anyone who looked at the nasuverse wiki. You would start at saber then 5 minuets later you're reading about ultimate ones, im so weak rn.
The explanation make my head explode oftenly.... It's magic, but not quite magic, almost, similiar
Something like that

Nasu and Takeuchi really are best buddy, imagine from high sch until now you and your buddy is now creating visual novels that inspires anime, and a worldwide game, FGO and ppl all over the world talk abt characters you created a universe with lots of spin off... Gotta appreciate Takeuchi for the Saber faces designs. While being similar, they all have unique traits that sets them apart.
One can never have enough of that beautiful Saber face.
Remember Type-Moon wouldn't exist if nasu didn't forget his eraser in middle school and borrows to the person next to him who was takeuchi

For kagetstu toyhi that was his first novel. Did he get some ideas from that story and made tsukihime. Because I realized that there are similarity between that and tsuki
The best part about typemoon is the many different authors and creators Nasu roped into his wing.
A great example of this would be Makoto Sanda, he greatly admired Nasu and longed to contribute to Typemoon ever since Nasu excitedly talked to him about how he wanted to have more books like fate/zero to expand typemoon. 7 years later after that conversation he was invited on the 10'th anniversary event, (watch the 10'th anniversary typemoon video), while sitting besides Nasu, he was hit with an epiphany. An inspiration that made him impulsively ask if anyone else had plans on writing that particular story. He was met with the response “Nope. Do you?” Thus El Melloi II Case files was written. A story picking up after Fate/Zero with Waver as the protagonist. He managed to achieve something that he thought was far from his reach and became part of the stars he admired.
Not just him, Ryohgo Narita,(Durarara, Baccanno) who excels at writing stories with such a diverse cast of characters wrote Fate/Strange Fake.
Gen Urubuchi (Madoka Magica, Psychopass), one of the more prestigious writers from their rival company, Nitoplus got to write Fate/Zero
Higashide (Apocrypha) and Sakurai (Prototype, Fragements of Blue and Silver) are the main scenario writers for FGO
Even Hiroshi Hiroyama, a long time doujin artist for Fate/ works penned the Fate/Kaleid Manga, yes the magical girl spinoff. When he presented his plot for the story Nasu (probably regarding the third arc in the series) questioned him if he was truly ok with dedicating this work to typemoon, because his ideas where strong enough to become the foundation of a standalone series. (if you have doubts about the kaleid series, I suggest watching the Oath under the snow film at least) Also, the tons of artists and illustrators who designed the servant character designs, They have Yoshitaka Amano, the legendary illustrator behind Final Fantasy's artwork in a collaboration right now. And even the fans and Community. I highly suggest you check give a read to Chaos Theory. An excellent fanfic that gave us the Illya route not present in the original visual Novel.
My point, TYPEMOON has been larger than it ever was compared back in the days where only people who have seen Mou Ikkai! could relate to, and that could be attributed to everyone who wanted to become part of Nasu's Legacy. Thats why the official AMV that typemoon released for the Fate/Grand Order third anniversary nearly had me in tears. We've gone a long way and its only just beginning, theres more to come.
My only complain is that they should give us the damn Tsukihime Remake already....
Tsukihime is a very beautiful story. Every character in the game including Shiki himself are very interesting and the subtlety of the characters make them feel realistic.
Press F for Sachin.
Nasu is one of my biggest inspiration for being a writer. I'm writing so many stories, and put some much detail in them during my time at university (college), kinda like him, but in this day and age, how on earth would I get my stories seen in a sea of so many others works, who already have their foot in the door in some way.
You just keep going forward, you keep taking chances, keep communicating, and not to lose hope.
but first... you literally need a bro/gal that just can draw anything, from request or just sheer concept from just hearing a character's name... both of you should listen to each other and back-up the other's works like how these two did in thier career lifetime...
What are your story's called
How's the writting? Any success yet?
Never give up.
I'm shocked Garden of sinner's was before tsukihime and you think there would have been an adaptation of notes by now
Ironically, their latest VN, Mahoyo Tsukai no Yoru (Witch and the holy night)'s script was written before KnK
Noice
It does take place earlier, time and story wise
No one would argue Fate/Prototype was the first of all their work.
3:57 so that's the origin of the farming in FGO huh?

They really need to make Ufotable remake the Tsukihime anime. I mean they did Fate UBW and HF alonside all of the Kara no Kyoukai movies, they really should give Tsukihime the love.
Tsukihime done right could make a very beautiful anime. I would especially exited about adaptations of Ciel and Akiha's routes.

You know some say Nasu’s actually a woman, but in reality he’s a mushroom.
There is some merit to the Nasu is a woman theory. Considering the amount of strong female leads or heroines in his stories as well as Fate Prototype being more or less an otome.
I agree, I saw him in kagetsu tohya
@@chaostomb so males can not create strong female characters
I know this is hella late, but watching this video was a blessing. After hearing about how much these guys started from the bottom and had to grind to the top has got me SUPER motivated to work on my own shit. Hell maybe even hit up my friend who's also interested in the industry. Thank you TSIAH IV and thank you TYPE MOON/Notes!
Even tho I think the Fate series has lost some quality due to Nasu getting less and less involved, I still hold the original VN close to my heart.
FGO story of chapter 6 (camelot) and chapter 7 (Babylon) are Nasu's works ( Nasu wrote those 2 chapters) and it's really great, some said it's two of his best works
Fastforward to now, Nasu is putting out absolute bangers in the form of Lostbelts.
Takeuchi and Nase best bro and thanks alot for giving me the info, Now I feel motivated to work on my story and maybe I should make it either light novel or ero novel.
I guess friendships and perseverance really can go a long way.
As another Type Moon fan, Great job on this vid
7:28 *PREACH IT* !!!!
Well done on this summary on the origin of type moon.
I loved Tsukihime.
Tsukihime!!! Curry senpai!!! Tsukihime is my next favorite work to Fate stay night, it's actually incredibly hard to choose!
yes, speak more about god takeuchi, i love his artstlye, only few people know his greatness

Kara no Kyoukai is incredible, highly recommend it.
Gotta respect takeuchi and nasu's grind
I feel like since I watch Carnival Phantasm clips all the time I should probably check out Tsukihime at some point but I just never got around to it. Same thing basically with Kara no Kyoukai. Ufotable made 7 films out of it, and well...we've seen how well Ufotable and Type-Moon go together.
Oh, and anyone that's familiar with Tsukihime, could you answer a quick question: How are you supposed to pronounce Arcueid Brunestud?
The KnK movies by ufotable are good and available on crunchyroll, but if you ever watch them without reading the novels be prepared to get confused. Nasu takes his time describing things and inner monologue-ing that doesn't happen in the animation. A fan translation of the books can be found floating around somewhere if you google it. The working title for it is Empty Boundaries. They were supposed to be licensed by yen press or del ray or something, but nothing ever came out of it. So that's the best you got.
Tsukihime... it might be hard to find way to get the visual novel now outside of torrents. A remake was announced a more than a few years back, but no news since. If you read manga sites, there is a is fully translated Tsukihime manga. It does a decent job covering the main arc.
Btw it's pronounced Are-Coo-Ayd Broo-n-stud
Nasu, in my opinion, spends too much time describing things. While Ufotable's UBW anime was my first exposure to Fate/Stay Night (after I watched Fate/Zero of course), I did go find full readthroughs of Fate and Heaven's Feel, as well as most of Hollow Ataraxia. I'll definitely take what you said under consideration, though isn't the official English title for KnK "The Garden of Sinners"? Not sure what a "working title" would be for in this case.
Yeah, officially it's The Garden of Sinners, but for the fan translation of the 7 volumes, it's Empty Boundaries. Just making it easier for you to Google.
And I feel you on Nasu using a lot of words. But as someone who could only find a partially translated volume 4 when the 4th & 5th movie came out, (1 movie = 1 volume), I was thoroughly confused on wtf happened as opposed to what I knew from reading before watching. Most of it you can watch without context but context certainly helps, especially in the last few movies
For Tsukihime if you find the Tsukihime VN a bit too hard to get into either do availability, aged visuals or length I suggest the Tsukihime manga. It does a good job of telling the near side of the moon stories while dipping a bit into the far side so the manga is pretty complete.
I have yet to read the KnK source material but I hear that specifically movies 5 and 6 take the most liberties from the novels (with 5 generally being considered the best one and 6 being considered the worst).
I wasn't confused at all during the whole movie series, but I can see how some people would be. I've been a little hesitant to read the light novels because I hear the only finished translation embellishes a lot and adds/changes a bunch of stuff to the point where some points are "fanfiction-y".
Also, Tsukihime is a pretty low budget VN lacking a few of basic features, its art (specifically the BGs) isn't very good, but it's still overall a pretty good story. The manga is good from what I hear, but I'd always go with the base VN.
I have a link to an easy-to-install Tsukihime but am a little hesitant to post it here; Hit me up on discord (HyperMonkeyBird#9394) if you want that link. It's a good read and I strongly recommend it.
Fate stay night, & tsukihime,,, my best Anime for me,, 👌👌👌👌

Woah, great video and nice outro!
I had no idea there was so much to type moon
I appreciate this video! concise but informative
Awesome content as always.
Love the outro music. I did not click on this expecting to hear Disturbed. Oh, and nice video too, I guess.
since you did a video about type moon, could you do a video about the TYPES themselves?
Love this video I learned a lot more about Type Moon
Interesting good to know

O.O Kara no Kyoukai 😍😍😍😍
This is great!
Disturbed outro? Subbed.
Man if I could I would get a copy of Tsukihime but I don't even know where to begin to get a dang copy.
If anyone wants to help another Type-moon fan out pls respond.
parker maisterra No idea about the actual visual novel but you can read the manga. It’s still just as good.
You can find the game online. Just good "tsukihime VN" download that, apply and English patch and done.
first go find the game... I found one in the torrents and its pretty ancient... to bad the torrent site is down and I can't download it again cause of CD-storage problems, my God...
but if you do get a good one, it's always that Cd version that you need to port is using a program named "alcohol" or something that sounded in the field of medicine...
next is to go to mirrormoon.org to find the english translation of it...
mirrormoon is just always faithful to the nasuverse franchise, but the website is down due to "steam" .
so I recommend you type it in the google "tsukihime mirrormoon english translation" or something like that...
and then... I forgot the other details....
@@gabybop the manga is Fucking good. I keep rereading it from time to time... You miss the dark side of Tsukihime (sunflower scene was really memorable, and that FUCKING chair... ), but the main story is amazingly done.
@@SergioCamposJurado I also love the manga, ihave so much respect over Shiki by the ending
I think nasu's habit of putting too much detail is what made his characters great . They were more real . Sympathizing with its history .
mordred and fran fist bump ?! best video of your channel man .
really glad i subbed.
Still hoping for a fate prototype anime
You're content is still the greatest! Ima have to read tsukihime now!
Nice video man. Had no clue about the origin of it all. This was really easy to understand too. Could you possibly do a video on Archer Alter? I remember you talking about discussing it in a video about the alters.

7:36 I AGREE SO MUCH WITH THIS!!! I'D FUCKING DIE FROM HYPE IF AN ANIME WAS ANNOUNCED FOR TSUKI SADLY THERE IS NONE
Nasu is amazing and the way he tell the story about those fate or tsukuhime r fantastic somehow typemoon take u to a fantasy world so u could enjoy the urban legend behind it love romance saddnes grief and more detail r put into it
of course the top anime r naruto onepiece one punchman but fate series and tsukihime take u into a romantic relation and grief the storyline r unick hope nasu make more anime similar to fate or even better than that
Tsukihime remake hype brought me here.
I hate how some people say that he’s a bad writer
7:07, where did you get that timeline of events...?
I need to read that one...
and you have a good choice of metal you got there in the end... Stricken.. ♥
I love that band and that song...
DON'T SLEEP ON KARA NO KYOUKAI
I actually got introduced to tsukihime I've been reading it
I would love to see a re-adaptation of Tsukihime as the OG did kinda suck but I wanna see UFOtable's Nero Chaos and we have already seen the MEDP in KnK so we know that greatness.
Nice video my guy, couldn't agree with you more about people needing to read Tuskihime. If they did and then aided us in making more noise maybe Notes would get off their ass and finish the remake already! I can't tell you how frustrating this lack of commitment to Tuskihime from them is. I will say I WILL NOT watch, read, or play anything else from Type-moon until they show Shiki and the gals some love! IDK man I still haven't found a better 2D fighter to this day, than Melty but to each his own. BTW Ciel senpai is best girl hands down.
It blows my fucking mind no body has ever ported those Visual Novels to PSP.
Please!!! READ Tsukihime. Also if you in touch, somehow, with the piece called Notes, a doujin on a antological compilation that Nasu and Takeuchi were collabing, read too, it's very Nasu's writing awesome and will give you that "I want more of this" sensation.
Remember never give up, once you make up your mind, keep going forward, never look back or your determination will waver. But sometimes sadly we can't always follow our dreams, or something happened like an accident that caused problems or falling out with people. But don't let that hold you back sometimes you have to go through the bad things before you can get to the good things.
I love Fate. I fucking love Kara no Kyoukai. I don't know about Tsukihime. All I know about it comes from Otaku Dai-kun's lore vids on it.
Damn you talk about the formations of Type-Moon and it’s roots and you end the video with Stricken by Disturbed?!? You a man of culture in my book!
Idk if that pun was bad or not take it as you see it, because this was a awesome vid!

I read Tsukihime out of spite for my friend to shut the hell up with his blabbering "Tsukihime is way better than Fate and Sakura is best girl. You're favoritism for Fate over Tsukihime is disgusting" etc etc. Sorry Tsiah, would've enjoyed Tsukihime but my friend ruined it for me.
