I remember being young and playing Melty blood at the arcade over and over since all the stoners were playing third strike and MVC and no one seemed to ever be playing it. I had such fun I’d play it for hours because people would rarely challenge me. Until the owner of the arcade one day came over and put his quarter in and just demolished me with Red Arcueid. He told me I played well and started to tell me about the anime and the lore and we ended up watching it with friends after the arcade closed. Good times man.. I miss that place so much
thats such a visual stunning memory ,I bet those were good times
Chinatown Fair?
After Heaven's Feel, they probably going to reboot Fate route. Fate has a secret ending that can only be unlocked after completing all three, and this is actually a good time to remake this route
Uhhhh does this route produce the ShiBer ship my soul requires?
@@observer.b_e_l_l_i_s very much so yes
*realta nua's secret ending
Whats the three?
@@stick4538 the three routes; Fate, Unlimited Blade Works, Heaven's Feel.
The secret ending only show up after playing all three in Realta Nua version, then replay Fate route
Coming here after the Remake announcement
@Ooshima Chidzuru let's hope that they localise the visual novel
when we will see it
Summer 2021
This popped up as recommended.

I for one remember being very bored with this anime. And I'm not one to get bored with anime. Hell I watched Haruhi's infamous endless eight all the way through... at least EIGHT TIMES, no joke.
fair enough. the anime has something i call a drystory. a story that puts its event and development of the cast waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before the characters themselves and rather sticks with a more focused pace than making the events especially exciting
I have started watching Tsukihime 2 years ago, this year I wanted to finish it, but I realised that I ended at episode 6.... Well, I am at the end of the original visual novel now. :D As for the anime, I will wait 2+ another years for Tsukihime remake from Ufotable. :D
The endless eight was done very well imo. I understand why some can't stand it but I quite enjoyed it
@@8Joya8 wait I thought you guys would stop at Episode 1?
Yup. I watched it back in 2004. Couldn't remember the story...until now!
Definitely other factors... leaving out many character plot points or motivations even if its the main route... Bland choreography for fights, completely ignoring Shiki alternate personality or vampire hunting persona. There's alot. Adamittedly it is a good introduction before looking into the manga or reading the light novel.
Yeah, I missed a bit with this video
This aged beautifully lol
It's because of the anime that I'm a fan of Tsukihime
I love this show so far I haven't finished it yet and I hope that they can make a remake or season 2 or something similar cuz I would really like to watch that
I would love the “this chair” being animated
Personally my favourite thing about the anime is the art, and the way they used subdued colours. In my opinion it fits with the atmosphere and it’s not something that I’ve seen used in other anime (granted I haven’t watched much of the pre-2000’s shows).
The plot is another matter, and since I’m nowhere near finishing the first route (Arcueid) of the visual novel, I can’t really comment on what it missed. There were random things that were mentioned yet never explained, and things that felt totally unnecessary to the plot, character development, and setting.
The whole anime evoked a sense of mystery, similar to Kara No Kyoukai, but unlike the former it never explored it properly nor made any sense of it. From my point of view, it definitely wasn’t the best Type-Moon anime adaptation, and definitely could do with a reboot after the visual novel gets one, but overall it wasn’t so bad that it ‘shouldn’t exist’. Then again, my opinion could change after I finish the novel, since I’d know the full extent of what they left out.
I watched the anime before VN so I didnt had any problems with it, I really liked the music and backgrounds as you mentioned. I thought I was alone who liked those stuff. They are specially good since its an old anime people should cut it some slack they didnt had the budget like Fate series have today.
rather i liked it and made me wanna play VN , in my opinion VN was the best followed by the anime
I didnt read the manga , wasnt looking interesting enough
I would recommend you to read the manga. Cause the manga is the only medium that shows Shiki when he goes full Nanaya mode, cause the VN is in first person and well the anime fumbled. the Nanaya manga panels are crazy
WHERE DID YOU GET THE HD VERSION OF THE ANIME?
I watched it before i played the visual novel, so I didnt have any expectation on its anime quality. That was my fortune. I still like both of them.
I suppose this adaption probably would’ve gone down better if it was 24 episodes.
I still think it should exist, since I have seen far worse anime, adaptions included.
I love how when you said "I will admit that" it sounded like "I will omit that" which is nearly the opposite. English amirite?
It's definitely underrated. It's probably at least like a 7/10, held back mostly by plotholes, a seemingly rushed ending, and poor representation of the antagonists and action. Going into it blind with modest expectations I still enjoyed it a lot.
I felt the same. I was a fan of the Melty blood games, but I have no interest in VNs (the format bores me). I decided to watch the anime with low expectations, and i liked it. Not the best animation or story telling, but it was a fun watch and it gave a better understanding of the main characters and the relationships. I’m sure it is a bad adaptation, but like you said…as a stand-alone and going in blind, it’s not so bad.
i just finished it after 10 years of kicking it off my list and i was surprised how it held. The music is so good, the opening, the ending and the ost as a whole is solid. Yes, the plot has many holes, but you can see there is a dense and heavy plot behind all the hot mess. So many questions are left open with no place to search for them, guess i'll go to the manga now.
It's a shame tho, Tsukihime could be excellent.
@@wuachurra honestly it reminds me a lot of the Umineko anime, in both audience reception and overall quality of the show
I want to see the remake. The Blue glass moon opening is one of the best anime openings iv ever heard.
Will there be a season 2?
I loved this anime. Still do.
Well, the remake is out. Some of us are still waiting for Tsukihime 2, Satsujinki and Dark Six(whatever the hell that is).
I remember not understanding the anime. But I did watch it and didn’t knew it was related to Fate.
where to read it and whats type moon and nasu
I rlly want to see ufotable remake this into an anime
You can't remake something that never existed.
@Son Gonna Fax
@@songohan3321 it exist
@@solonight4849 where can I watch it at? I’ve looked it up everywhere that I’ve ever watched anime and on google but can’t find an answer
@@Itsmfchum the anime name is Shingetsutan Tsukihime.
Its not from ufotable tho, and also being creat long time ago (maybe more than 9 year ago) So, the animation are low class.
Most people dont know about this until the Ufotable remake it to become a game.
This anime became shirou and saber
i came to tsukihime after playing Melty Blood: Actress Again. i wanted to see the source material behind these fun looking characters.
when i realized it was a vampire story, i braced myself for disappointment as i usually do with that genre. and then i heard the voice acting. i always watch the JP voices because i'm trying to learn Japanese. so, what i got was voice acting on par with Elfen Lied.
"ok", i thought. "i can make this work."
so, i keep watching. i watched the first three episodes, and... while there were things i liked about it, i opted out of continuing. instead, i listened to the fandom's advice and read the manga, and formed my opinion on the series off of that.
(my opinion being... "i like it. it's nothing groundbreaking. but the vamps are cool. not VTM:B cool, but still cool. my one real complaint is i really didn't like the protagonist. i find him annoying. overall, 7/10.")
as for the anime, i'd give that a 5/10. not as bad as everyone says, but there are better ways to enjoy this story.
tl:dr, it did not impact me that much. the problem was my inability to get invested in shiki's story, due to not liking him enough to care.
You should've read the visual novel if you wanted to see everything about the protagonist
I actually like this anime and I even played the VN
Wait... you enjoy the anime despite also knowing the VN? Usually it's the people who know the VN that are harshest toward this anime. oO
if it weren’t for the tsukihime anime
i wouldn’t have gone out of my way to read the vn
What are you talking about? There's no Tsukihime anime. No, it doesn't exist at all.
Someone please tell me where to watch this
I might be weird but I got into the series from the anime I liked it I might read the manga now
Thanks for your vidéo and regard
i see you have taken the clue from Rising sempai to review stuff that does not exist :D
We are trying to out due each other in this regard. Expect at some point just nothing to ever come out ever again. That's my ultimate goal, to not exist.
@@SeaTactics LMAO
As an anime only who never read the manga or play the vn, totally a great watch alright. Sometimes i don't even understand how it's a 6/10 as i don't really feel whole plot hole fuss and all. Though i do kind of understand the disappointment of someone who watched an anime expecting something to happen just for it to not happen. I would problably give this anime an 8/10 instead but maybe it does deserve some of the hate
I'm learning the series cuz u know the series order is kind of messy since it also got an alter
I may be wrong bit even still this show will be a 8 out of 10 for me
When I watched carnival phantasm I always thought who are these other girls and this boy which I had never seen in fate series now I understand
The ending and the rushed development don't bother me so much. Like you said, there are definitely some redeeming aspects for this anime, especially the music and general atmosphere.
My biggest complaint is that characters (most notably Arcueid) come off very different in this anime than they do in the manga or VN. There are scenes where they don't even feel like the same people. So while as a stand alone anime viewing Tsukihime can be an enjoyable experience, I'm with most fans in recommending the manga instead.
The reason I would say it’s an anime that doesn’t exist is because I can’t find it anywhere, where am I supposed to watch it?
Tsukihime anime wasnt bad if you have exams and anything but studying is interesting
So people are saying that this is the Aruicrad (probably spelling that wrong) route? Does that mean it's like Fate/stay night where there's multiple routes? And if so what are they?
uh theres routes for arcueid, ciel, akiha, hisui and kohaku
arc and ciel's routes both have roa as their villian
akiha hisui and kohaku's routes each have different villians but its generally considered to be SHIKI as the villian for them
@@dreamyliamy2537 cool, so which would route would the anime do first if Ufotable remade it
@@samj8058 probably akiha or hisui, they're different enough from arc's route n jc's anime to be adapted without overlap
@@dreamyliamy2537 cool, so would you want movie form kinda like heavens feel or would you want Unlimited blade work's esque anime for any of those Becuase I'd mostly want a Unlimited blade work's anime type for those, just so we could get more story. But what do you think?
i think if you subtract the hentai, each route is able to be 2 movies each so im fine with that, an anime would drag some of the routes out but be fine for others
I think the pros that you raise are fair. However...i feel like a lot of the cons VASTLY outweight them.
Did we really need a pointless amusement park episode that doesnt go anywhere except for tension between the girls?
Why even add akiha's demonic heritage if it wasnt even going to be a thing you were going to explain?
Why focus on sacchin and arihiko for SO LONG when that time could have been spent focusing on actually making the plot work?
Why did they erase the entire concept of Nanaya shiki from the story(if you notice, not once is Tohno EVER shown to be a badass like in the source material, he just runs away for most of the series or gets lucky flailing the knife around)
Why do all the girls have their characters SO subdued that they literally all act the same?(When you cant tell Kohaku and Hisui apart because they barely emote, that's a problem)
Why say your focusing on Arc's route yet DONT focus on the origins of ROA, the backstory of Akiha, SHIKI and Nanaya, so the entire climax of the story doesnt make sense?
Who is ciel and why is she even in the show? Did they even explain anything about her in the first place?
I feel like its more annoying because a lot of these criticisms could have been avoided if they had actually trimmed a lot of the plot down as its own thing, so there were not a bazillion hanging plot threads and tons of wasted space.
If you wanted to focus on the core story, just ignore akiha's demonic origins and just say she's the normal sister.
If you want to explain away ciel just say she's a church person coming to kill ROA.
If you want to explain ROA, just say he's a vampire that reincarnated in this era that has nothing to do with shiki or akiha or the mansion or Arc anything.
If you didnt want to fully explain Shiki's history and all that, dont even allude to it, just say he was a dude who was in a near death accident that mysteriously gave him eye powers.
If you want to explain Arc, just say she's a special vampire who kills other vampires.
Shit like that are so simple to do in order to make this adaption a fairly simple to understand story, yet they didnt do that and needlessly complicated it in a 12 episode timespan with no payoff. I think THAT'S primarily why people say the anime doesnt exist. Because its not just a failure as an anime adaption of a vastly more expansive source material(like FSN 06, which is actually average to good on its own), its bad as its own as a individual work and just brings up too many questions than it ever bothers to ever answer.
they did explain ciel tho. both why she is after roa and that she is a churchgirl of some kind
Sad thing is both Fate and kara no kyoukai (which I believe is older and the VN or novel is even harder to track down than Tsukihime) got the better anime adaptations when Tsukihime got the short end of the stick.. It's just really fucked up and frustrating.
they forgot ciel's most important character trait, curry
you should listen to Arcueid voice in Latino ( Spanish) is amazing the tone
The art makes them look freaking old in the anime.
i legit thought "fucking boku no pico?"
I took a shot every time he mispronounced Tsukihime or another Japanese word/name, and now I'm in the hospital.
This anime had all the kinoku nasu elements, the atmosphere, suspense , mystery and the dark feel to it, its the pacing that drags the story. Everything feels slow, you want to go to sleep put this thing on.😅😅
I’ve been looking for the anime, but can’t find it. I don’t understand what the story is about
It had a horrible ending. I liked the anime hated the ending because Arcueid died. And especially after Shiki made love to her. That's what broke me.
As someone who only got into anime in 2020, I honestly don't get the hate beyond the animation not being as high production quality as the Ufotable series and some skipped characterization.
the point is, even DEEN's fate stay night got a billion times better animation than this
"Some skipped"
It seems that most of the characters and story was just removed in the adaptation
I watched this without reading the manga, and it just felt like a lot was missing. Like character development and entire arcs. It was actually boring to watch. Carnival Phantasm did a better job and it was a parody.
@@songohan3321 visual novel*
while there is a manga the source material is a VN
I found the manga after the remake was announced and just started chapter 1
The way he pronounced tsukihime at the start though…
The fate route should get a remake
Well now we have the Tsukhime remake now don't we?
i personally actually found the anime to be the best anime i have seen storywise alone(i like other anime more, but for secondary reasons). it makes good use of main and sidecharacters and i did not actually notice anything being amiss when i watched it,so it is a bit of a surprise that there was stuff cut. it just occurred to me that ciel or the church had to have erased everyones memories at the end,but i guess it is the opposite and the memorything happened at the beginning. doesnt really matter. and the thing with the point of death...i literally understood it the moment the point was shown onscreen. really,i did not even have to wait for the guy to actually die to understand what was happening xD
it is a giant point of "hit me here!" where multiple of his lines ended and it was the only time in the series where shiki was getting ready to stab someone instead of slashing them. i liked every minute of the anime actually and it actually felt like the anime was 24 episodes contentwise. when i say i like every minute...i actually mean minute, not second. i dont even mean the repeated short section after the short break, that is fine. but sometimes, the anime just takes a while to continue on certain shorts. it feels like they just did not manage to hit the episodelengh sometimes and then just did that bs. if that did not exist, then i would call the anime really great
I actually saw the anime first, then played the vn…now the remake, I prefer this over fate/stay night tbh
I remember the firsttime i saw this anime, and it was seriously wierd for me. Fast forward almost 12 years later, and i watched it again, this time having played the og game, and knowing the nasuverse from notes to ataraxia. This anime is said to not exist because it is absurdly weak compare dto the source material, and really, only the music saves it from being the absolute worst thing i've ever watched. The characters are stiff, they don't emote the way they normally would, side characters get their exposition over even massive plot points (i love sachhin and akiho, but they should not be as prominent as they are in the story).
Hisui and Kohaku? Their characters are decimated, arc, instead of being one of the most fun characters is more often than not rather dark and dull with her attitude, shiki gets virtually none of his badass moments the way they should be, and the list goes on. This anime could easily have been worse, but it _should_ have been so much better considering when it came out, there were leagues more anime from decades earlier that were far truer to their source material, and had leagues better animation.
2:57
BRO WHAT IS THAT SCOOBY DOO AHH FACE
Listen the thing about keeping the Satsuki parts is more confusing because the anime and manga actually cut her arc. The manga is more agregious for this because they had the time to actually put it in.
Not just that but the animes portrayal of the nero fight was absolutely lame. They cut out bits of shikis character arc during that fight.
As someone who doesn't really give a fuck about the source material or any type moon shit, I enjoyed the anime a lot
Read the manga if you don't want to read the VN, it's really good and it has a extended ending.
I’ve only ever read the manga. Never played the game and didn’t know there was even an anime or nonexistent anime.
The characters all have gakuen handsome chins.
An anime based on the manga narrative would work. The manga tells you everything you need to know for the story to make sense and enjoy it. If they took their time with it, they could bring in more elements from other routes.
Otherwise, there is no Tsukihime anime, but if there WAS, it would have two of the best anime soundtracks of all time.
1:07 screw you worldwide web it exists
I feel like the anime does exactly what its meant to, gets you just interested enough to go read the vn
Welp Thank you for this!! Now that i know it's plot then i can enjoy 1/3 of Carnival Phantasm now xD
Ah this anime, I watched it but it was a mistake I did xD, I was gonna play "lunar: the silver star" and somehow ended up with this anime lol, maybe cause I was looking up anime for lunar and ended up with this
How was it
Yes
"tsUkihimY"
This anime actually really needs a re adaptation by ufotable soon or later. I literally has not watched it but i can say that this anime will not disappoint any viewer if it gets an another adaptation.
melty blood comes from here :)
I would watch the anime IF I KNEW WHERE THE HELL TO WATCH IT
Wait this was your video
Bruh I watched this as a teen. Found out It was for a game or from a game or something.
The manga is one of my favourite mangas of all times
"sukihimi"
i dont know why this pisses me off its such a minor issue but golly gee am i pissed anyway
I love this anime, it got me into the Nasuverse, but the understanding of the presenter from the dub is... how can I put it politely... flawed.
Ciel killed the villain and the vampire told tohro that she is a member of church and uses magic
I am fan of lunar legend
Wait so the anime does exist I knew it
So does this thing have an anime or doesn't it.
It does so stop with that shit joke
This anime got me into type moon material. This anime got me into the Tsukihime visual novel and Garden of sinners movies. This anime drew me in and even though it was a shallow adaption. The opening and ending theme and what I saw in the anime told me that there is much more to this series. The visual novel is on another level.
The anime does have good music and great art style but that's about it. The manga is good and the visual novel is amazing.
Any melty blood game fans ?
Who saw him 😂
ah yeas arcade bumstead
So Tsukihime is another Melty Blood?
Tsukihimmy
there wasnt enough neco arc
Anime exists
it's a good anime but i shit and piss my pants at the end, i recommend just getting the nv
Honestly, looking at this I think I can say that Tsukihime fans got off lightly all things considered. Contrast that with what the Dies Irae fans have to put up with.
I just figured the anime was supposed to be an Experimental art experience.
It's alright it average maybe below average
Remake anime with 24 episodes at least
At that time, i watch almost all anime be it good or bad, whatever genre so Im used to boring slow anime and low def anime from that time, so this anime is quite standard and slighly exciting to me than most other anime, so yeah i dont understand why people said its bad. Probably just type moon fans

but I saw this anime
Neco arc

Probably feeding into the meme, but I had no idea this got an anime lol.
But then again, I don’t mind reading so I think I’ll just continue playing the VN
