This video was brilliant. 15 locks and 3 movable bridges to Grindley Brook. Seems like very hard work to me. The staricase was very exciting, watching you go up at "fast forward speed" A great pleasure for you to be able to use the services!!! Stay safe please
Loving your beautifully filmed vlogs with informative and humorous chat. Back in the 80’s we hired an electric boat from Anglo Welsh, a fascinating experience in the early days of battery powered boats. Unfortunately when we stopped midweek to recharge at Wrenbury the charging system broke down so we were stuck for 36 hours till it was repaired. At least we were beside a pub so all was not lost. 🥃👍

Did the grindley Brook staircase on our first ever canal trip going up was on a bank holiday so it was manned going down after visiting llangollen it was getting late towards the end of that days cruising did the first lock great the second one not so good as the previous vessel had forgotten to fully drop the bottom lock paddles so as we dropped the water from the middle lock it wasn't filling the bottom lock and we ended up on the bottom of the lock. Oh how we laughed. But we sorted things out with some lateral thinking. Learnt two things one never assume paddles are down always check and two even when things go wrong getting back underway on the canal makes all the problems vanish. Keep up your great films Heidi it's people like you who have made my wife and i make the decision to buy a boat in the near future .

New sub here (Noob), originally from Lancashire but living in South Carolina (USA), just a quick question 🙋♂️ do you not get nauseated with the fumes from the Diesel engine ?
Ahoy there and thanks for watching 😄 not really nauseated, but i do sometimes get stingy eyes in a long tunnel 😜😄 My boat is what’s known as a ‘traditional’ with the boatman’s cabin at the back and the mid engine 🏴☠️
The by-wash on the Llangollen canal is due to the fact the canal transports water from the River Dee to Hurleston Resevior, suppling Nantwich and the surrounding area with drinking water. It varies between 12 and 24million gallons per day.

A cpl and a UV filter make all the difference in wet weather. Takes out the shine of wet surfaces, and allows the spectrum of colors to pop. Greens, blues, and clouds.... omg it allows you to pick up the billows of clouds. You can get them for like $30 for a set for most cameras. I've got some on order for my gear to improve my work. Do some research on it, but I wouldn't steer ya wrong. BTW.... the cleaner the film, the easier the edit. Filters do just that. filter light noise that expresses as data in digital film. This "noise" makes for grainy and jumpy edits sometimes. You might even be able to find some second hand filters at a pawn shop or charity shop. Not sure if that exists there. But.... failing that....the interwebs have a gazillion different folks selling them. Cheers ;)
Jaks is the best. Well, except for you Heidi. 🙂 Here in the USA, one can put "discarded waste" as it were, in a plastic bag and as long as that bag is tied, it can legally be put in the garbage. It's an option for when you can't find a pump-out ... or you know you won't find a pump out ... or maybe the pump out won't be working ... plan ahead. Friends of mine in a caravan never put "discarded waste" into their holding tank ... they always use a plastic bag in the toilet to collect it, then keep those bags until they can put them in the garbage. I've been in their caravan LOTS of times and never smelled anything. Wow, that by-wash is fierce. I love your videos!
I have 2 … we normally get emails of stoppages or facilities out of order so you can plan accordingly but nothing about this one unfortunately … oh the joys 😂

Ahoy, I do have spare cassettes, but when you have cruised purposely a few hours and up 4 locks to a place to empty them and it’s been out of order for weeks and the next elsan is over an 8 hr cruise away it’s frustrating 😂

I have my phone and a GoPro … it keeps me busy and entertained when cruising holding them in different positions on a pole 😂😂

😂😂 I just tie it and slip it off when not wearing it and plonk it on when I am … it just stays there even in the wind 😂😂

Ahoy there and thanks for watching 😄 not really nauseated, but i do sometimes get stingy eyes in a long tunnel 😜😄 My boat is what’s known as a ‘traditional’ with the boatman’s cabin at the back and the mid engine 🏴☠️
The by-wash on the Llangollen canal is due to the fact the canal transports water from the River Dee to Hurleston Resevior, suppling Nantwich and the surrounding area with drinking water. It varies between 12 and 24million gallons per day.

A cpl and a UV filter make all the difference in wet weather. Takes out the shine of wet surfaces, and allows the spectrum of colors to pop. Greens, blues, and clouds.... omg it allows you to pick up the billows of clouds. You can get them for like $30 for a set for most cameras. I've got some on order for my gear to improve my work. Do some research on it, but I wouldn't steer ya wrong. BTW.... the cleaner the film, the easier the edit. Filters do just that. filter light noise that expresses as data in digital film. This "noise" makes for grainy and jumpy edits sometimes. You might even be able to find some second hand filters at a pawn shop or charity shop. Not sure if that exists there. But.... failing that....the interwebs have a gazillion different folks selling them. Cheers ;)

Jaks is the best. Well, except for you Heidi. 🙂 Here in the USA, one can put "discarded waste" as it were, in a plastic bag and as long as that bag is tied, it can legally be put in the garbage. It's an option for when you can't find a pump-out ... or you know you won't find a pump out ... or maybe the pump out won't be working ... plan ahead. Friends of mine in a caravan never put "discarded waste" into their holding tank ... they always use a plastic bag in the toilet to collect it, then keep those bags until they can put them in the garbage. I've been in their caravan LOTS of times and never smelled anything. Wow, that by-wash is fierce. I love your videos!

I have 2 … we normally get emails of stoppages or facilities out of order so you can plan accordingly but nothing about this one unfortunately … oh the joys 😂

Ahoy, I do have spare cassettes, but when you have cruised purposely a few hours and up 4 locks to a place to empty them and it’s been out of order for weeks and the next elsan is over an 8 hr cruise away it’s frustrating 😂

Aww thanks for watching and commenting ❤️ I’ve submitted all my music to distrokid because of UA-cam, but think it takes a while … I’ll have a lot more time once the trading season is over to write more tunes and try to sort alternative ways to download … I’m just using free software and a tiny little keyboard at the moment - I’m new to UA-cam and how it all works but it would be ace to get a few pennies from it 😃😃 Hopefully by winter time I’ll be organised .. I’m cruising or trading in the day and editing most nights and then trying to throw some music together in between and most of my tracks aren’t even finished 😂😂 but comments like this are really pushing me to get my act together and get sorted - thank you 😃 xx
