- RUSSIAN attack helicopter gunships take out Ukrainian jets midair in explosive war footage.
Russian authorities claim these images show the moment forces destroyed Ukrainian targets.
The footage, obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), allegedly shows the helicopter, a Russian Mi-35 gunship, being loaded with ordnance before it takes off.
It can then reportedly be seen flying low somewhere in Ukraine before the images cut to the cockpit and show the aircraft apparently opening fire on unseen targets.

This video is from a paper that has endorsed anti- European articles since 2010. The paper generally publishes sensationalized, misleading stories with a right-wing bias. Putin loves this type of paper.
They aren't shooting jets, they are tilting up to add range to unguided rockets, hoping they'll hit something, certainly not jets... This isn't Battlefield 4, it's reality.

It is highly unlikely that a moving jet was taken down by a few unguided rockets. Those rockets are designed for use against buildings, personnel, and unarmored or lightly armored vehicles. Something like the R-27 Vympel would more likely be used in this application.
They probably just set some wheat on fire...
In arab Israel war Israel one f4 was shooting down by m24 with non guided missiles when f4 trying to attack - like I read .
The aircraft would have picked up the helicopters before they even got close enough to fire and taken them out with air to air missiles, this whole thing is just a propaganda film, just shows what Putin thinks of his people to think they would fall for something as stupid as this.

I am sure the Russians will have shot down many vehicles in this war. But - providing such a video as evidence maybe shows, how bad they are with having documented successes.

All the Russian helicopter attacks are basically the same, first they show them load the helicopter, then they show them take of, then they show them flying, then they show them blind firing nose up to maximise the range because they are to cowardly to get close enough to actually target anything, and then of course they make all these exaggerated claims of the targets they destroyed when all they actually did was help a farmer plow his field or a woodcutter chop down a few trees.

I am sure that no Ukrainian jet was injured during the shooting of this video :) This is a primitive and inaccurate way of attacking ground targets in a situation where the pilot is afraid to approach the target under direct surveillance. Sophisticated machine is used as a trebuchet.

Couple thoughts...Never saw a Ukranian jet(let alone one shot down). Is it SOP to release flares after firing off salvo?(u are literally sending up a flare telling enemy where u are, unless u are under attack). Does anything in here show this is actually happening in Ukraine since no damage that I could see done anywhere.

A couple of things to note here. 1) at no point do we see a Ukrainian jet, which is highly unlikely to be shot down by an unguided rocket. 2) if you were going into a combat zone as a helicopter pilot, why would you tape a go-pro to your main cannon….. seems highly unlikely that you would give up a cannon so that you can make some TikTok’s in an active war zone.

1) if Russia is a “liberator” of Ukraine, why do they need to shut down social media sites, fine protestors and refuse to call Putin’s assault on Ukraine a war?
2). If Russia is so great, tell me, how many former Soviet states have joined western democracy vs tried to stay with Russia? If Russia is so great, the number of returning states should be greater than those leaving. So far Russia has attacked Ukraine causing 2 former independent countries to apply for western NATO alliance membership.
3) A personal question….. how many democratic countries need to be against Russia’s invasion before Russians realize they may be wrong? There only had a single instance where a helicopter shot down a fixed-wing aircraft. The downed aircraft is a yun-5(AN-2) transport plane which you would usually use to apply pesticides to crops. It's impossible to shoot down a jet with an unguided rocket. The video is irrelevant to its title.

They’re using helicopters as airborne MLRS platforms. Notice how they are firing unguided rockets at the top of a parabolic arc as they climb as steep as possible.
This is an inaccurate way to send ordinance towards your target.
The reason they are doing this is because they want to stay out of range or Ukrainian MANPADS and other SAMS, which have proven to be devastatingly effective.

This is an extended range maneuver for the rockets. For ground targets. The chances of hitting jets with these type of rockets contains a TON of 0s to the right of the decimal point.
12 years in Army Aviation with a fair about of time in UH-60s. I am by no means "the man" when it comes to helicopter warfare but an unguided rocket attack shooting down fast movers? Never heard of it happening. Few cannons that can lead the target sure. Never heard of a rocket pod dump taking out jets in the air.....

Putin most likely has this grandiose idea of restoring Russia to its former glory by expanding it to its historic borders, and, even if that isn't his objective, seizing Ukraine as a means of securing a warm water port most likely is. Crimea was the first step. He did that under Obama because he knew that Obama was, and is an impotent leader. That is also why he waited until Biden ascended to the throne before he proceeded with his assault. He saw another weak and feckless leader.
