What if there was a 1v1 mode for air RB so you could have a proper BVR fight and not worry about getting 3rd parted.
And what if it was ranked and easily accessible with possiby ge rewards at high ranks
And what if gaijin actually would want to make it a better game instead
Yeah they should add a 1v1 bvr mode and a 1v1 dogfight mode they would both be so fun
This would be a good addition to the game, hence why gaijin wont do it 😂

So they gave the best Fox-1 missile in the game, to an Aircraft with a great Thrust/Weight ratio, with a radar that can hold a track 90 degrees to either side of you letting you notch at the same time. Seems like the best BVR platform in game by a long shot
russian mains are coping hard about it already, saying that the same radar found on yak41 is very bad and easy to notch. Every all aspect doppler radar in this game is easy to notch, but don't expect to get out of a situation when you're 3km or closer to the enemy if the missile is on your way.
THIS is also why r24r and r27r/er are better up close than aim7m, because they are much faster to arrive on time while the radar is losing your target's presence.

the R-27ER was such an unneeded introduction. And I'm saying that as a russian main myself. I'd reather if we had received the R-73 over the 27ER. Not to mention that the 27ER in a MiG-29 (9.12 or 9.13) is a very dubious choice... it's a very late 80s FOX-1, officially entering in service only in 1991 and many sources claim that only the MiG-29S with its upgraded radar could fire them, not the regular Fulcrums
*Obs: AirRB NEEDS to be reworked. We need this kind of gameplay. I had enough of them turning AirRB into arcade for the last years

Don't see what people were complaining about, it seems like the balance stays like it was with the 16A and 29 9.13 with one being better in BVR and the other being better close up, hell, now there's even more of a difference with the MiG getting a better radar but being considerably worse in a dogfight compared to the F-16. If the pilot is competent then radar missiles shouldn't be a problem, and if the pilot pays attention then he should be able to dodge the AIM-9M, people that are complaining one or the other aircraft being OP are doing so because they are trying to play in favour of the other plane's strengths and wondering why they aren't winning. Going in an F-16 and trying to go head on in a BVR fight against a MiG-29 and then getting upset that you can't win that is like complaining because you can't brawl a heavy tank in a light tank.

I mean its all situational overall I agree but we have to keep in mind that mat is an insanely good pilot and is for sure better than most of the people that will get to use the f-16c overall though the f-16c will do very well in the meta with the 9m in its current state I also wish in general that they just add the f-15a instead of adding new versions of the f-16 and maybe just take away the r-73 till we have the c but thats not happening so
@@paulwilliams4371 Matt is an average/slightly above average pilot, he uses landing flaps on the F16 despite it lowering performance, and he makes a lot of BFM mistakes.
Probably cause the mig 29 pilot is kind of a monkey, trying to max range your r27s is a waste if he'd waited he could shoot a much more dangerous missile and hold the lock while notching the sparrow

Your talking about a 1v1 and he has to get close in the f16 just to fight it so if the entire enemy team is the smt we don't stand a fkcn chance
Feels like the radar on the F-16 isn’t finished. Besides extra modes it’s pretty much the same as the other ones.
SMT still has the 180 degree radar gimbal right? Not going to beat that in a BVR engagement it can literally track you while notching your missile
Interesting, I've played some custom battles lately and seen different pilots avoid the R27ER like it was nothing, sometimes dodging 10 of them just by notching at distances of 5km. Then I see Mat here struggling. I wonder what is going on.
I mean the radar on the smt is way better than the mig-29A, with the increased range and 90 degree lock angle
to be honest these dodges arent as close to death as hes acting like they are, the f16 can properly bvr a mig 29, hell ive won a lot of bvr matches just in the phantom. the f16 makes it a pretty close match because of its amazing flight performance, even with the sparrow being considerably inferior.
not sure if hes acting up for entertainment value or because hes uncomfortable in bvr, but he did still only lose 1/3 and because he got too greedy. its pretty easy to survive a bvr engagement to the merge if both sides are shooting for max range and only have 2 missiles.
as for the 5 km dodges i presume your enemies are sticking very low to the ground, which still has amazing effectiveness, but isnt exactly good bvr.
Its very easy to avoid an R27ER if you notch but he's not notching in this video, he's cranking because the gimbal limits of the F16s radar don't allow it to enter a notch while guiding in a missile. You either notch the R27ER or guide in a missile of your own, you can't do both at the same time.
Really hoping we get the update tomorrow why does it have to wait for Tuesday when there's a perfectly good day called Monday

The radar for the F-16 looks porked. In DCS TWS wil lock at 20 miles easy and hold it.
i mean, if you want to be close to him just dodge the bvr part and stay close to the ground while pointing ur radar in the sky.

@@seniorilay8291 but as you know, the phoenix will probably have a new data mine, in the forum discussion of the missile, they are searching for the seeker and engine values because in the game is not too right, That means will be buffed, but until the r-33s, r-37m and meteor coming to the game, the phoenix will have the bigger dynamic impulse in the game by the distance that it goes, while the r-77 will be better at close range

Yeah, people were mad about the smt getting TWO new missiles
If I am close enough to no use PD I wont use it lol. Even if you lock his chaff as long as you have a radar lock that Aim7 still hits. Im to the point where are barely use PD unless they are below and head on.
wont src lose lock though if they are flying low?
Ideally try to get the sky as the back drop when you do that. And even if they chaff AFTER you launch, the missile still knows to track the target and not the flares.

@@christopherchartier3017I think he means it has damage model similar to phoenix so if you don’t knock the pilot then target will be able to return to the base
But that works only against su-25 and yak-141 as I saw. First one is a flying tank and the second is idk. When I play on 141 that’s pretty common to eat some 9l/r-60/7m/27ER with only losing normal acceleration and energy retention

Shouldn't there be no launch warning for the R-27ER before it gets within 25 km? The R-27ER launched at 60 km will first use inertial guidence with update commands before it switches to SARH guidance at around 25 km.
CWI signal is still present. Rwr is reacting on enemy onboard radar. Not missile that wont emmit any signal at all.

The F16 radar is broken, jist like the Mirage radars are broken. I commented that perhaps an year ago when I left the game for DCS. It's not only the devs fault, its the players as well - the last also don't give a shit about how things are modelled until sh*t hits the fan.

The f14 radar is extremely broken as well, and has been for over a year.
F-16 or should i say AIM-9M is going to club so hard it's not even funny , people complaining about R-73 are living memes . Ofc nobody complains about insane / unhistoric 9M flare resistance ) .
It literally turns its seeker off to avoid flares just turn heavily after flaring
And they have already confirmed it WILL NOT be more flare resistant than r73 when they go live….
@@hondacivic1293 Yeah i know how it works but that's the point. The ammount of turning required seems to be exagerated or in other worlds the seeker reaquires too quickly . The fact is by turning heavily you are massively bleeding energy, you can avoid at most two 9M launches , after that you are a sitting duck , you will either be too slow to avoid a third 9M or get slapped by canon fire . So ''just turn bro'' ain't cutting it !
@@norske_ow3440 That's what dev said but thus far ( two dev servers in ) R-73 isn't remotely as flare resistant as 9M , so talk doesn't seem to match facts . Remains to be seen in live server but given they have showed nothing towards that direction in two consecutive devservers i press ''doubt'' for the time being .

Don't play like that against the op r27, just go to the ground and then dogfight, with the new flight model of the f16, mig 29 will be easy to defeat.

the 27 also has a higher max aoa so it decelerates faster on sharp turns
the 27 just accelerates faster then the 7M
@@lightningstrike5024burn time is only part of range it also matters how much thrust the rocket motor produces aswell as weight and drag as of right now the ER also has INS and datalink which means it’s more accurate at longer range then the 7M
@@jameson1239 DL and IOG have nothing to do with accuracy, and while the 27 accelerates better than the 7m, the 7m now has over twice as long an engine burn time (a datamine just came out with changed the 27 stats)
@@lightningstrike5024 they do the DL means it can receive mid flight course updates from the planes radar instead of just homing in on the objects reflection and the IOG means even without a strong lock on the target the ER will fly to the general area of where the contact was it can also be guided in TWS, and again burn time is only one factor of range the Python 3 has a relatively short burn time but still has comparable range to the 9L due to how strong its motor is
