Hey Ya'll what a great reaction, I loved all your smiles and gyrations. Your happiness literally poured out of my computer. I hoped you would enjoy it. One of my favorite songs. The combination of Maurice White's rich voice and Phillip Bailey's falsetto just kills me. Then you add the rhythm track with Verdine White on bass, then the drums and horns. Earth Wind & Fire and Steely Dan are 2 groups who's musicianship is unmatched! Neither group has a bad song! You're barely scratching the surface with EWF!
My 2 favorite groups for obvious reasons. I just never get tired of listening to them.
My two favorites are Stevie Wonder and Steely Dan/ But I grew up on EWF as well, I'm 64, and started listening to all them in my mid teen,s!!
But Nick how can you listen to 😂Metallica and Iron Maiden etc, metal music is so Contrived?? With no grooves or harmony??

Isn't this such a great song? From the outstanding EW&F album "Gratitude," a combo of live performances and studio tracks. For yet another incredible jazz-soul tune, check out "Sun Goddess," in which Earth, Wind & Fire teamed up with jazz artist Ramsey Lewis (1975) for a superb, jaw-dropping jazz-soul-funk classic.

This is one of my favorite EWF songs. One thing about EWF is that they paint a soundscape and take you to the mood & emotion from the first note. It's a musical tsunami.

Gratitude is an absolutely great album. Do yourself a favor and listen to the entire album from start to finish. The 70s had great soul music. EWF was at the forefront with other great groups.
This was a great college dorm party slow jam back in the day. Brings back memories.
Love love love EWF. Maurice White was a genius. I love their harmonies. You should check out Imagination from their Spirit album. It's just a gorgeous ballad. Incredible harmonies at the end. Phillip Bailey's falsetto is positively operatic.
Try reacting to Sun Goddess from the same record. EWF were Ramsey Lewis' backing band when he first recorded it, then they went on to do their own version on Gratitude. Sublime jazz/funk.

😂GREAT REACTION!!!😂 have seen Earth Wind & Fire 🔥 5 times in concert. The band never pause in their music on stage. Never!!! Lol Every song whether slow or fast carries over to the next song. Yeah....This song is a Masterpiece! And this song is one of my all-time favorite songs from the band. Also, "Write a song of Love, " is another great song to react to. Check that song out too.😊

The Elements at their best! I have this album and loved it ever since 1975 when it was released. To hear them both live and in the studio on this one was/is breathtaking. What a great year in music!

Those 4 ascending brass notes right out of the gate, just grabs you. Nick and Lex, I believe I have been lobbying for this song to whoever would listen. This is an all-time classic! For a few years EWF were on another level, the greatest R&B band ever. I've been listening to them nearly 40 years and their music from the 70s never ceases to inspire me. If you haven't already done so, I recommend reacting to 'Be Ever Wonderful' from their 1977 iconic album All 'n All - it's a jammer, one of my favourites and hugely underrated. Love & peace to all EWF fans from Cornwall, UK 🇬🇧
I saw thr EWF/Lionel tour in my town. Still going strong after 50 years! If you like this one, you may also like Tower of Power's "You're Still A Young Man" from their Live In Living Color" album (my preference). Cheers!

Maurice...he really didn't want to be a lead singer of the group in the beginning. This from the Gratitude 1975 album. Earth, Wind, and Fire still kicking it today in their live shows fortunately for me seeing them live for 5 decades!! Earth, Wind, and Fire with Chicago collaboration is HEAVEN!!
EWF started this song with some interesting syncopation, but they managed to carry it throughout the entire song. That's something you rarely see. And it's done to perfection.

I grew up to this band considered THE GREATEST Soul R&B Group EVER...!! Maurice White, Phillip Bailey, Larry Dunn, Verdine White were the core members. The souns was Maurice White's vision to bring Positive, Happy Music for the Soul.
Maurice was not only a great singer, but also a great Composer, Showman. Peace from the SF Bay Area CAli. 2/28/24

The drummer,bassist,and lead singer are brothers.The founder and lead singer Maurice White was the drummer for the Ramsey Lewis Trio in the 60's and played on hits for other artists before he started EW&F.Their brother Fred White was supposed to start with the band on drums when he got out of high school but was asked to go on tour with Donny Hathaway.Their back up vocalist Ralph Johnson is also a professional drummer so he played on their early stuff until fred came back from the tour.Even their back up vocalist who sings falsetto Philip Bailey is a drummer.He's the one who did Easy Lover with Phil Collins.

During their heyday, EWF had 13 members. For the best EWF covers on the planet, chech out videos of the Russian group, Leonid and Friends. They do several EWF tunes in studio. Fantasy, September, After the Love is Gone and EWF's version of Got to Get you into My life, almost spot on. EWF's music still lives on!
Check out the killer female version from J.P. Morgan produced with the cream of West Coast jazz musicians and a very early production from David Foster back in 1976. A great version also exists from the Swedish group The Gimmicks that is worth investigating, also from 1976....Mark GV - Reference Point

But almost half of Earth wind and fire members have sadly passed away so you would have experienced a better concert during their younger years. Especially since the leader and vocalist Maurice White passed away about a decade ago. But they are a legendary band still.
Please listen to "That's The Way Of The World". This is an absolute gem. It's got the soul, the vibe and it just makes you feel soooo good! What's more, Pat Metheny chose it to play it before the shows in the 90-ies to tune in. After having heard it you willa know why...
