When you said, “The beat changed🤔” Bless your heart baby, that’s called a bridge.☺️
TEACH!
They use to beats chile.lol
Exactly 🤣🤣🤣
Tell him!!!!!!!!
EW&F was the best stage show you would ever to see!!! They had an orchestra in the band by themselves!!! The were 11 of them and all were master musicians in their own right!!! This is the definition of a BAND!!!!
We "old heads" did have the best music, young man! But it's good to see many of the young people today learning about these classic gems!👍😊😊
My late sister used to love EWF she played them in our bedroom constantly. Love her and them. Maurice White will never be forgotten. His voice was so amazing!!!
BEST band in the world. no doubt, no question, no arguments. Packed full of talent, Soul and feel-good FUNK!!!!
I’m a 60 year old white guy and this was my favorite album in high school. It’s on my phone in its entirety to this day
55 year old white woman. I consistently listen to them till this day. Thier music is timeless. Got my 15 yo daughter into them. Their melodies and harmonies were perfect. Concerts were so uplifting!
music is of many colors ❤️
I’m 66 - same
60 yrs old white woman, I'm right there with you guy, been listening to EWF since they come out!!! Love, love, love IT!!! Still listening today!
62 year old white woman from the Great Plains, doesn't get any better than this! Brings me back to my college dorm room everytime!!
Apparently you should have been born in the 70s. Groove and soul was the culture.
I agree!!!
@@Satori_My_G
I think the music was so good back then is because it was important to us. We barely had tv so the radio and records were all we had so musicians had to put out a great product and have the best singers and instruments. Today you just go in and bring up stuff on the computer. Back then the sound was more organic.
My one 70s song I remember the most was Dream on by Aerosmith. My parents listened to that stuff. If you hear it don't do any live versions. Just the normal song with lyrics will do.
I agree...and bands and singers fine-tuned their musicianship to perform live. No auto-tune back then so they had to really bring it day in and day out
@@Satori_My_G They got the name of the group from their zodiac signs. TRUE fact!!! ALWAYS loved them since the late 70's. ❤️❤️❤️
The LEGENDARY Iconic Earth Wind and Fire
"I betcha can't hide love..." Satori! Earth Wind & Fire's got you hooked sweetheart! You go baby boy, you go! This was the jam and yes it hits the soul and the spirit down deep! Detroit, MI
I absolutely LOVE this song. Those horns are everything.
Bruh, they had so many damn jams it's literally crazy!! Devotion, shining star, reasons, that's the way of the world, after the love has gone! Please, I better stop!!!
I'm so glad you found this real R&B,sorry your generation and younger got robbed of this great music 🎶 I have seen most in concert👍✊🔥 🔥
Facts!!!!🙌🏽 Love this song...♥️🔥♥️
They did get robbed, and looking back on it, It's amazing how good our music was. We lived in the best musical era evah!!
@@lesleycooper8966 There parenst are to be blamed for not exposing their children to good music
@@mrxces69, Somebody had to say it! We made certain every child from the cradle to this day KNOW our music, this music, soul, r&b, yes, great music.
Well, I saw them in concert in 1975 and that was an awesome concert for me that has stuck with me to this day. So I can understand why you had said that "this song is hitting" while you were listening. Glad that you have found joy and appreciation for this old school music.
I'm feeling you, bro - this is my FAVORITE Earth Wind and Fire song!!!🥰
Smooth song for ya! Atlantic Star..Send for me! Also Atlantic Star..... Am I dreaming. Incredible vocals. You'll love them both
Maurice, the man himself started with the Ramsey Trio as the percussionist. When he formed EWF, he was looking for someone to sing the "man's" voice...since Phillip was already the falsetto. So, Mo sang those ballads like this. He and Phillip sang ALL the vocals in their recordings. NO other group could produce like EWF! Even back in the day, their cassette and vinyl music sounded the best!! Burnin' Bush my man!! Maurice preaching in that one!!
Don’t forget the 8 tracks
…and also OPEN OUR EYES!!!
The way this song starts off commands your attention. The rest of it is so incredible that it keeps your attention!
A fantastic song and one of the best basslines ever.
Satori, it was so good to us back then, just like it hitting you now! Maurice left a precious legacy! And I can sing, so I can harmonize with them! Oh Lord!
I know right it’s mind blowing 🤯🤯🤯🤯. I’ve known this song for over 30 years and it still gives me a high 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
You need your headphones on so you can understand that beat and those instruments. It's AMAZING.
Everyone had "Gratitude" LP back in the day. Can't hide love was the newer cut on the live lp. My favorite EW&F song on this lp along with reasons. I was 15 when this song came out. Classic
Love to see our young men appreciate songs from my preteen years. To get a true appreciation for this track please listen to the instrumental. Straight fire!!
“Love’s holiday” is my favorite song by Earth Wind and Fire hands down, but this is my second or third next to reasons
EWF, Earth Angels. RIP Maurice White. ❤️❤️❤️
At 65, it doesn't get much better than this. The Elements 💘 are forever Timeless!
I’m sitting here getting emotional watching him digging this for the first time. He was probably conceived during this song!!
Can't go wrong with the Elements. That's what we called them back in the day
Glad the young people of today are finding the performers & music we dearly loved & grew up with. Raw emotion, feeling, talent (no auto tune), showmanship... ❤️❤️❤️. NEVER gets old!
Beautiful!! Our music ! I’m 60 yrs old and that’s our music!!!!
Promise yourself that you’ll go see them in concert-they are absolutely as good now as they were then. My fave band-I’ve seen them 7x!
The first time I heard EWF, I acted the same way. Floored! I’ve been riding high on their tunes since 1972.
Great singers and true musicians make music that withstands time and always sounds new and fresh. Such craftsmanship...
G I'm apologize I said earlier about Sax but my bad it is a muted trumpet but music is outstanding ..Gap Band ...Can't get over you
Earth Wind and Fire "Devotion" get a live performance if possible.
You're welcome.
I get so tickled watching you listen to the amazing RnB of the 70s. My teen years were spent listening to this and going to lots of concerts.
I love the way this song is touching you..goin right through your Soul....EW&F..Has a lot of Beautiful Songs..My Favorite Band Bar None❤❤❤
This Steve Harvey's favourite EWF song! This is what you call a bad ass tune!
No, Steve Harvey's favorite was Love's Holiday.
1 of the greatest group or band every member could be in their own band EWF For Life wow
i was a kid when this came out. we used to sit on my grandmother’s couch snd read the liner notes and sing along with the song as my aunt and uncles played the records. even then we knew it was special. but when you’re surrounded by such greatness,m/ so many great artists w immeasurable talent, you don’t have a concept of it one day ending. stations won’t play this great music anymore. it’s such a pleasure to hear the new generation rediscovering the greats and teaching each other snd asking questions. TY for keeping it alive. ✊🏽respect.
I was about your age when I first heard that track and I reacted the same way you are. EWF is timeless...
It's the type of shit we ALL need! Loved your reaction to this most excellent of songs. Earth, Wind & Fire are simply the best. Have a listen to 'Time is on Your Side' and 'Dirty'
Maurice White was the Creator and Founder of EWF. Everyone who knew him said He was a Beautiful Person who just happened to be a Phenomenal Artist, Singer, Song Writer and Composer. You are just scratching the surface young man. He was the GOAT...!! Peace Next EWF track... "See the Light"
I cried the day he died and listened to EWF all day long
Producer and Arranger as well..
@@silvermann6515 Thank you for the input. It's nice to see others comment on a post I wrote over a year ago. Earth Wind & Fire are no doubt one of the GREATEST Musical Groups to ever do it. Sadly as I'm sure you've already heard, Fred White, half brother and drummer for EWF recently passed away at 67. Too young. He and Maurice I'm sure are having a 'Drum Off' and reminiscing about their hey day. RIP, Maurice and Fred White.
@@jfs70ss yes sir you are absolutely right. Thank you for the information..God’s Blessings and protection be upon you and your family this year my brother..🙏🏾😇❤️
@@silvermann6515 Thank you Sir or young Man whichever that is. I'm 61 so I grew up with them. They are a part of my youth and many happy memories.
Thank you for the kind words. Peace and Blessings to you and yours also 1/8/23
Not only was this one of the best bands of that era they also sang with a message it gives her heart a great joy to see you enjoying and understanding the music there's a song I would like you to listen to it's by the floaters it's called you don't have to say you love me where do I send that dollar
Appreciate your reactions to all the music. Grew up listening to this beautiful music. Earth, wind, and fire were the best.
Mauric White voice was golden and Phillip's was angelic. All that harmony with feeling... in the sixties we were given all the Motown Magic and Mephis Stax, and then the 70s hit. Black folks in the Park cruising on Sunday Lincoln Park Oklahoma City, Dalls White Rock.. and black folks with their family, friends, and car ticks. Yeah those car ticks folks bumming folks for drinks, smoke, then try to change the track and start dee jaying.. Yeah they take over but you pick them up cause they are entertainers. Start singing and first thing they say even if they havent heard the song is, 'that's my jam. Yeah Earth Wind and Fire, Frankie Beverly and Maze, Brothers Johnson, Prince, Ohio Players, Bill Summer Summers Heat, War, Chaka Khan and Refus, Bobby Womack, Johnnie Traylor, Heat Wave.. and on and on and on. FOLKS CALL YOU OLD SKOOL. But proud to say if you were born in the 40s 50s or maybe 60s you can enjoy this great world with all its changes. And now pass the torch to the young generation all that great music..We are indeed blessed.. LB 2021
Haha! Best comment
Loved it! EW&F slay the vocals, harmonies, horns and overall musical arrangements. Check out "All About Love", "Sun Goddess", "Shining Star", "Happy Feelin'', and "Reasons". You'll love the message in the music, I betcha. ✌️
And check out The Staple Singers, "Let's Do it Again"
I just found your channel this afternoon and I am loving it. You are reacting to the same way that I and others back in the day. We didn't have cell phone, only home phones and we would call each other up and scream when a new song would come out. We had so many awesome groups, singers, etc. We went to a party every week and jammed our butts off. This group is fly and their outfits represented the earth, wind and fire (way beyond our times).
We use to bend our knees as the beat hit.....in the gut....Deep!!!
This is real Soul music
I love watching young people listen to the music of my generation for the first time. They sure don't make them like this anymore. That was one of my favorite songs from that album.
i saw them 1978 i was 16
Yes, yes, yes! It is spiritual! Now I know what my grandmother was talking about!!!
You remind me of why I love music so much. It transports you to that happy place or sad place or whatever the fuck place you felt like being in and I love it.
The Genius of Maurice White
It's so good, that you keep stopping it! It's just amazing! The vocals Maurice & Phillip, The Phoenix Horns cand the rest of the EWF band, My God! This is why some of is had good sense because the music was like a "medicine" to our very souls!
The best album ever made.
The first concert I ever went to was when my Mom took me to see EWF at the Checkerdome in St. Louis, Missouri around 1978 and it was the best thing I ever saw musically. They truly entertained us, they were on high wires flying in the air and the best live musicianship hands down and I loved their album artwork. One of my all time favorite artists and I will always remember that gift my mom gave me, that concert and her love of music and allowing me to play her records and learn to appreciate the great music she loved. Music is like a time machine, you can hear a song and it will take you back to whatever good moments you had life.
One of my favorite groups of all times.. And Yes, this music absolutely made/makes you feel good. Glad you've discovered these legends. 🤗🤗
My favorite band EVER. Thank God I grew up in tha 70s. Great reaction youngblood. 👍🏿
Yes we did have great music back then. Living in the lower westside of Chicago back in the 70's, the only thing that got me thru was this great music. Satori, there is so so much more. So glad you are appreciating it.
It was a blessing to grow up in the 70s with so much inspirational and motivational music that essentially set our course in life..
This is one of my fav EWF songs!! Know you know this beat....been sampled a million times! They do make ya soul feel good!!!!
You're listening to all my fave artists. EWF, Steely Dan, Jill Scott. More please!
Sometimes you can find the isolated bass lines of these songs on UA-cam. It's very interesting and enjoyable. BTW, it's nice to see our youngsters enjoying the music we grew up with and (at the time) took for granted.
I was born in 69, so they started a beautiful tapestry of harmony n soul n this is my favorite sing ad well as group. They touch the soul like no other to me. Been to 4 of their concerts n they give an even better show wirh a ton if solo instrumentals. Glad u r discovering the treasure trove of the 70's n 80's
Maurice White is from Memphis, TN. He started out as the drummer for the Jazz Group , The Ramsey Lewis Trio. Verdeen White is his brother and bass player who helped to create the Group.
💯 Real Music...nuff said!
Dats the Elements…EWF 🔥🔥🔥
We did have great music back then!
Earth wind and fire live shows were awesome too
Oh, we get it! Do you know how many times we slow dragged to Can't Hide Love!
A FAVORITE among favorites of outstanding EW&F music. Those horns get me every time! Takes me back to those college dances and hoping to dance with a cutie pie when this song came on! Thanks for taking us along on your musical journey, young man. Bon voyage!
Loving your reactions man......that was me at 11 when my uncle played it for me the first time!!!😍
Welcome to the good old days youngster……
I've been watching your videos all morning. I knew you were gonna go UP for this one! I don't think EWF ever made a bad song!
Binge watching 😂💯💪
LISTEN TO THE ENTIRE GRATITUDE ALBUM!!!! They played all the instruments too!!!
I love your show, especially your appreciation of great music. I am 70 yrs old and lived thru the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's enjoying some spectacular music. Wish I could walk you thru it. Keep up the good work
What's not to love,? They're EWF. They were so versatile and smooth.
Best slow song ever! I'm a 65 year old white woman and this song is ever so dope! We used to roller skate to this backwards with our little dance twists. Great memories!
Try Earth Wind and Fire Loves Holiday!!
YES!!!!
It’s actually my all time favorite track.
I lurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrve ittttttt 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
No one can do it better but it is a new guy who made it over with ewaf! 2021
When Music was actually Music
EWF was my first concert. It was 1968. I was 16. You're doing great keep the good ones coming. Don't forget the GOAT Stevie Ray Vaughan doing his Texas Flood at El Mocambo. He can play anything behind his back on stage. This one is his best. Many thanks ❤️
JAM!
Check out THE Whispers SAY YES, DIRTY DANCING,
welcome to the church of SOUL
EW&F Always gave off spiritual vibes in the early days
RIP Maurice
Great videos. New subscriber!!!! I still listen to this music and I'm only 30 lol
This auntie is loving your reaction. ❤
When I was younger my parents would play trivia with me they would always ask me to name the song and /or artist within the first two minutes of it starting,I did the same to my daughter she loves 70s music too. EW&F are goats in the music industry. I'm a new member I love your vibe, great reactions and your music choices are excellent.
Brother this whole Gratitude album is a MUST, react on cam or not. It's a concert album with a couple of studio tracks. You'll love it. EWF had 2 of the leads ever, falsetto is Philip Bailey and tenor Maurice White RIP.
This that banger!
I just love seeing your reaction I was a teenager when that's album this group came out with this song ! The music of the '60s and 70s 80 "s Offf The Hoooook 😍
Some people say that the Beatles are the best band ever. Some say that EWF is. There’s an argument for both. Just a matter of your taste. EWF. There’s no one else like ‘em & never will be. Definitely the R&B band ever. Period.
One of the greatest bands ever!! The elements!!
Hello Satori My G, I'm a recent subscriber to your channel...Since you like slow jams, especially by Earth Wind & Fire, you may also want to react to these other songs by them: "Devotion," "Keep Your Head To The Sky," "After The Love Has Gone," "Reasons," "Imagination," "Wait" and "Where Have All The Flowers Gone?" I believe these are all "Vibes" you and your subscribers will enjoy too!!!
Saw them live in the 80's, goes top ten in my life
Be ever wonderful.
Oh your gonna dig this one . It was originally by the group creative source and it was a fast upbeat songs . EWF put their spin on it and it's the shit now. To see them do it in concert was the bomb.....enjoy my brother. I've seen them ,Ohio Players,Isley brothers,Rick James & Teena Marie,Bloodstone,Mandrill and so many more concerts and with no one getting shot
Gratitude and All n All are better then many artists careers.
One of my favs and luv your reaction...🤣🤣🤣
