Hey 👑. Prince formed the Time, and pretty much wrote and produced their first couple of albums, Gigolos get lonely too was on their first album. The original of that song that you reacted to, was basically the demo by Prince for Morris Day, Prince and Morris Day grew up together in Minneapolis, and they were his "rival" band in Purple rain.
Hey haters Morris Day is a great artist Morris Day is the one we talking about right now what they did all this itself more state is a start more than they deserve credit Morris Day is a star!💯💯👍🏻👍🏻🙏🙏👊👊💥💥
Jesse is a great guitarist he just didn’t play on this studio version. He played it live sure but Prince did EVERYTHING on this except he programmed the LINN DRUM for percussion. Jesse has said himself that Prince used his guitar to play the solo because he liked the sound he was getting out of it and wanted it to sound like The Time and not Prince.
Its interesting to observe a woman's modern day take on music of the past. The fact that you said "he could be a serial killer!" as the first thought shows just how much society has changed. Most women from the 80s would not have seen a man asking for a phone number with intent to come over as being "creepy" or with an intent to do harm. Women back then knew the intentions of the men of their era. For them, it was a simple yes or no, and that didn't mean never, it just meant "not today" and it was no harm, no foul. Society has really devolved and I think the modern music is both an example of it and the reason behind it.
@@jmac3977 There has been an emphasis on instilling a general fear of men s a default setting in younger generations; but that's another conversation for another youtube channel. Peace.

You remember your reaction of Prince's demo track for "Gigolos Get Lonely Too" you recently reacted to? That same song (which is also on the the Time's album) was a guide track for the funk group Prince conceived--The Time. The dude on the cover (Morris Day) is/was Prince's best friend and former bandmate. and a GREAT drummer. Prince came up with the Time to unleash his new wave funk side. "777-9311" is one of the Time's most groundbreaking jams. So yeah, Morris "looks" like Prince for a reason. The Time was basically him on mostly all the instruments with the great Day on lead vocals and drums. Prince's genius' knew no bounds.
You might've helped with my issue with listening to Prince's music. I have a hard time listening to his full albums because i'm always trying to look for a consistent sound (particularly Funk more similar to I Wanna Be Your Lover), but that sound wasnt consistently in his own music. We didn't have those thaught processes back then it was not as bad as today. If you were grown, you could have grown fun. Morris day was hand-picked by Prince for the time band lead vocalist he was the drummer at first.
The band The Time was created by Prince in the late 1970s. Prince handpicked the members of the band and mentored them. He brought together talented musicians and performers, including Morris Day, Jesse Johnson, Jimmy Jam, Terry Lewis, Monte Moir, and Jellybean Johnson. Prince served as the producer and songwriter for the band's music, and they became known for their unique blend of funk, pop, and R&B.
Another Prince-related track along the same line, with a *drummer* tearing up a guitar, is the album version of "Innocent" by Alexander O'Neal, who was supposed to be the Time's original lead singer. Now watch a video of these brothers performing. Coolest band ever.
Prince and Morris Day are cousins in real.life. That's why they look alike
You couldn't take that look on her face...means it's "FUNKY". Just as it was meant to be. BTW, where has all the "Funky Stuff" gone?
gettin the number and meeting up the same day was how we moved in the 80s...wasn't no terms like toxic, cringy, inappropriate😂 cuz everything was straight forward😂😂 just go back and watch ANY movies, TV shows, from the 70s and early 80s😂😂 it was really like that
Hold up young Sis
You mean you still haven’t watched Purple Rain yet? 😮
I thought you were a Prince fan? 😉💜
Prince had so many productions! Try the unique group called "The Family". It consisted of two of Times members with additional artists from his Paisley Park lable. Prince also had a jazz ensemble that did well internationally called
"MAD HOUSE"
This is a complete prince production. Wrote, produced, playing the instruments lol Morris sang it though!
Love this kind of music 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
This is all Prince with Morris’s vocals. Prince produced, wrote, and is playing all the instruments on this track. The Time were Prince protégés. Hence the reason Morris looks like Prince. You gotta watch the Purple Rain movie.
