I watched all these skaters so much as a kid that I could tell who they were just by how they skated. Tony, technical, lanky arms flailing. Cab , smooth as butter. Hosoi with that big flair. The 80's skate scene was such a great time to be alive. I miss those simple days.
These 'kids' were so freakin talented. That original combi is no joke!!! They didn't have videos, dvd's, youtube, etc to learn from. They had a couple of older crew in a couple of parks, the rest they figured out for themselves within a hobby that wasn't even cool. They didn't give a fuck, they just wanted to skate. Respek
Fucking awesome video!! I got my first board in 1985 for my 12th. birthday, a Powell-Peralta Lance Mountain Future Primitive, w/Indy's & Powell mini-cubics, I loved that board. From the early to mid-1980's when skateboarding really took flight, it seemed like everyone that skated had a Powell-Peralta deck, usually Tony Hawk, Steve Caballero, or Ray Rodriguez(Skull-n-Sword). The Bones Brigade was everywhere with Thrasher bringing the latest stories & pics. George Powell and Stacy Peralta really built something special. To me, Powell-Peralta was the best skateboard company, best team(skaters), best boards, with the best graphics, hands down!! Also with Craig Stecyk, the ads. were ahead of their time.
So cool to see all the. Ha ha. Old pro's. My heroes from junior high years. Man we skated every day!! Best years of my life. I want to go BACK!! It was so rad!!

RIP Grosso. We'll miss you brother.
Dear 1985, please bring me back. I don't want to be here anymore, I want to come home.
The 80s and 90s damn I miss those times
Damn, Hawk was so focused and mature for a kid his age. You just knew that he would shine very early on.
awww, little tony hawk
The music the attitude the lack of technology. It’s the perfect combo. And today we aren’t exactly progressing in good ways anymore.

Smart interview by Tony Hawk to some dumb questions. He had it together even that young.
Random in my suggested videos. I rode here (Pipeline in Upland) as a kid. Many, many summer days spent there. Loved that park!
Rip Jeff Grosso. Legend!
Jesus Tony Hawk talked like a forty year old back then too
Dig the kid with the feathered mullet and Ratt shirt at 6:53... I think we all went to school with that kid.
hearing tony say the pool is hard because it has a lot of vert....it's just so...as the kids say...chef's kiss.
Damn Christian got HUGE air on that one after the roll in! 😱💕👍
