Good show, fellows! I'm ambivalent about mock drafts because they're fun and interesting, but on the other hand, they always break down, especially once you get down past the first few picks.
Very interesting show. The Wings will get a really good player at 15 and I hope they draft a winger. As Devin said, maybe one that plays opposite of Raymond. I personally would take Eiserman if he's available. On a separate note, i just started hearing rumors of a Laine trade and if i were SY, I'd take a chance on him, as he could be taken for cheap and we all know Stevie can steal. The draft and what surrounds it is one of the funnest times of the hockey year.
I know that people are slow to forgive things but I think Trevor Connelly is a top 5 talent in this draft and I think the kid deserves a second chance. He made a stupid immature mistake and has made every effort to make up for it. You can't ruin the rest of his life for sharing a post and if it were not for that, he would probably be gone in the top 5 but will most likely be sitting there when we pick so take a chance.
The concern is less of an immature mistake, and more questions surrounding character. Lots of red flags concerning his locker room presence and relationships with teammates and coaches.
@@europason2293 Ban him for life then? Not LOTS of red flags, a couple. Accused of a racial slur on the ice, reposted, not created the post of a swastika because he was only looking at the art creation and reacting without thinking. Since then, he has volunteered for several functions involving Jewish and he visited the Holocaust Memorial. IF Yzerman evaluates this kid and feels comfortable with his character, that is good enough for me and it would be as if we are picking in the top 5. Some might feel it best to continue to never take chances, be safe and toil in mediocrity forever and that is your right.
@@pnantais1111 I never said ban him for life. Personally I’m not concerned about the racism stuff because I don’t really give a shit about that; people’s personal beliefs don’t bother me and kids do stupid stuff on social media, that’s easy for me to look past, but I do think the red flags about him being a bad teammate and negative locker room presence are cause for concern and should give any GM pause. If he interviews well and Yzerman believes that he’s matured then I would be happy with the pick. He’s no doubt very talented and would be top 10 if not for the character concerns, and the fact that he single handedly lost USA the Gold at U18 Worlds.

Personally, I'm hoping for the Utah Outlaws.
Go wings

@@europason2293 Moot point anyhow. I'm sure he will be long gone by the time we pick.
Utah's strategy: If they're really bad this season, then they won't have to change the jerseys to join the PWHL.
🤡
You mean Redskins?
